  1. It is likely that the rental agency removed the card. Before purchasing my C-MAX, I rented one for 24 hours for a good test drive. My vehicle had NAV, but the card had been removed by the agency. I am guessing that, since they sell their rental fleet after a time, they would have included the card with that sale. However, I don't know about whether that was actually the case in your instance. Before purchasing a new card, you should ask if there is a new update that will come out soon. With my luck with things like this, I end out getting the old version just before a new one comes out, and then I end out paying for it twice. Maybe you can work it out so that this doesn't happen to you. ;)
  2. I've seen that commercial on TV, and it did bring thoughts to mind about considering it. On the other side, I will admit to buying at least one thing from those types of TV commercials in my lifetime, and they always turned out to be junk. One creative thought did come to mind, but I am not handy nor do I have to tools to do it. Perhaps the EVHD can be taken apart, cut smaller, turned on its side and then added to the side of the shade rather than vertically, allowing it to flip sideways. This would cover that bare spot of the side window, which always seems to allow the sun to shine in my eyes when it is on my side. Any brave souls out there that are willing to try it? :salute:
  3. Welcome aboard, and I hope you enjoy driving your new C-MAX!
  4. I've never tried using NAV without the card installed to see what it does, but I'd check that, as said above.
  5. P&G is your friend. EV up to about 13 MPH, then P&G. This works even with cars behind. Slow ICE is for battery charging. Use both techniques depending on conditions and SOC.
  6. Not too long ago, I posted a link to a collapsing cargo container from Costco. The cost for that is only about $12. I've been using them for about two months, and they are doing well. So, there's another alternative.
  7. Hmmm, could that be a 12V battery issue? I recently spent enough time with doors and hatch open to shampoo my rear seat covers and my CanvasBack interior cover, and I was getting a little paranoid about battery drain from how long it took. No issue with starting after. Also, do things like the interior lighting work on the battery pack or the 12V battery? I think I remember it being the 12V battery, but I'm not sure.
  8. Would that also include things like Dealers that have changed their name? NAV still lists a local Ford dealer's name under the name of the old entity.
  9. This is for the Hybrid, not the Energi, right? You are saying that the panel doesn't fall off of the glass? How do you connect the panel to the interior while the C-MAX is closed up, or are you always leaving it open?
  10. Well, nearly free. You pay only actual box and shipping costs, or you pick up in Miami Beach, Florida. When I got my all weather mats, my dealer also gave me the stock tan floor mats. I am trying to purge my overfilled closets and start anew . . . yet again. Time for them to go. If nobody wants them, they will be dropped off at a donation center. So, this offer is on the table for about a week or so.
  11. I only had this happen that one time, and, as has been said, it was probably just because I was in a rush. So far, so good.
  12. How long until something like this actually sees its way into the vehicle line?
  13. If anyone driving around the Syracuse area says that the C-MAX is good in the snow, it must be! I went to SU for a while, and we had deep, lasting snow all winter long. Plus, there are steep hills all over the place. I remember seeing the plow truck driving down the streets in October, stopping every fifty yards or so to hammer tall, fluorescent painted PVC pipes into the ground. I soon learned that the snow gets so deep that they put those in before winter, so that they plow drivers can find the roads that they are to plow! Now, that's snow!
  14. The only real issue seems to be in finding a long stretch of flat road. While South Florida is flat, I-95 has many overpasses built in for local traffic crossings.
  15. Okay, here is the link. Again, I apologize for the camera work. You can see the ICE/EV split on the left screen and the Hybrid Drive status on the main screen. On the right screen, you will see the gauge showing that ICE is on but fuel economy is just under 60 MPG at 54 MPH. On the battery status, you will see the battery nearly topped off, and you will see the arrow up and arrow down on it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to catch the moment when the arrow switches, but when the split is going for long stretches, it goes back and forth between up and down. That is the sweet spot to consistently get best highway FE.
  16. Hoping that the present course of bumps passes quickly for you, Matt.
  17. All of this back and forth about the OS sounds consistent with the article that was posted that said that Ford was checking out its future options. It sounds like no decision has been made, and the reason why everyone is suddenly hearing about all of this is because Ford is doing as it said, contacting various possible vendors for OS and apps to see what they could possibly do in MFT. So, I'd say to expect more articles like this as the various vendors report in.
  18. Yes, the engine turns but does not use any gas to do it. It's part of the design, so I assume that the engine is built to do it.
