  1. 1348 vehicle miles with 98 percent brake score.
  2. This is only my second tank of fuel. Right now, I am at about 620 miles, with the Range showing about 40 miles, and I am still in the yellow on the gas gauge. (I could be off a little on the numbers, but I the math comes to about 660 or 665.) Tank Average is 50.0, though it bounces back a tenth or two in one direction of my daily commute. Is there any shot for 700? How far past 0 Range can we go? Remember, I use air conditioning 100 percent of the time (73F). So, throw in the fudge factor for that in your calculation. I definitely was on the way to 700. Unfortunately, the Fourth of July holiday killed my chance. I went on the highway, and I went to unfamiliar areas. Ugh!
  3. My CanvasBack was shipped today. Hope to have it by next week. I'll post pics of the installed cover.
  4. Almost daily, I spend about 30 minutes with the sun right between where the visor ends and the driver's side window frame. This was a definite miss. I wonder what is a good solution that doesn't look bad.
  5. I stunk up the inside of my brand new C-MAX. I got a gas can, and I put a gallon of gas in it, in case I decide to push this tank full. I am not pleased. I checked to make sure that the top is properly closed, and the can is brand new. The gasoline smell had better be gone by the morning.
  6. I'm an air conditioner-aholic. I like having the glass. It makes the C-MAX even bigger and more open. It seems to help with driver fatigue, for me. I would never open an actual sunroof. Other than clearing out hot cabin air for the first 30 seconds of my drive, I never open my windows (other than for the obvious). So, the Panoramic panel is just what I had hoped it would be.
  7. That's about what I averaged in my Murano, and what I guesstimated for moving to the C-MAX. Basically, I figured that I would cut my gas bill down by 50 percent. So far, tt is working out to do even better than I had hoped it would!
  8. That seems to be what is going on, if the brake regen display shows what actually is going on. Being a coaster, there are many times that I end out having to lightly apply the brakes as I drift up to a light or stop sign. I notice that the regen circle disappears, and the charge arrow changes to point downward when the C-MAX slows to almost stopping. It is somewhere around 10 mph, but I am not exactly sure of the speed. I just wasn't sure if it is the way that the display shows, or if it reflects what is actually going on.
  9. I thought that it just represented an efficiency percentage, starting at 100 percent of the maximum potential energy that could be captured, and then declining from there. Friction brakes can also be applied, though gently, arriving at the gauge still saying 100 percent, because the light braking didn't result in a decline in the amount of charge that the system was capable, as constructed, of capturing. Am I mistaken?

Per the Wet Okole web site: "They do not get hot in the summer or cold in the winter." Just saying.
  11. I agree. 'Tis better to glide to a stop than to apply thy brakes.

I just got word that my CanvasBack will ship on Monday. So, I now expect to order within the next week or so. The Wet Okole is not inexpensive, but the extras it offers makes me think that this will be my final choice.
  13. It seems that the last quarter of the tank goes down pretty quickly on the C-MAX, compared to the top part of the gauge.
  14. If things still work like they do for traditional engines, probably only the initial start up of the engine causes the bigger wear. It takes a little time for oil to get out of the pan. Once that's done, I guess the much less use of ICE compensates for frequent starts and stops.
  15. Hey, there are plenty of us out there that know where the on-off switch is for the computer! :hysterical:
  16. I hope to start making cross country trips next year. Last year, when I made a trip to New Hampshire and back in my Murano, never speeding by more than like 2 mph on the whole trip, I got the Murano's all-time high of 26.5 MPG. By the time I am on the road with the C-MAX, I am going to include taking my time as part of those trips. So, I'll be happy going at 67.5 mph, using ICE High, and getting great FE while enjoying the ride. I can't wait to see what kind of long term numbers that will yield!
  17. I know that I still know nothing, but . . . I have been trying to learn my C-MAX. I have been repeating the same routes, and I have tried different techniques to see what works. I rarely have my SOC on the higher end of the spectrum. Most of where I go is 30 to 45 mph type driving. (Next tank will have more highway with ICE High learning.) For my driving, I have noticed that my FE drops when using two bars for acceleration, when compared to speeding up using one bar. By going up to only one bar, I seem to get the most charge per burn of fuel. Just to account for other factors, here is what I typically do. If I can, I start in EV to get rolling to about 10-15 mph, more if nobody is behind. I go with ICE with one bar to around 25 to 30 mph. By then, I can get a decent quick charge to 25-35 percent SOC. I'll glide back down to about 15-20 percent SOC before pulsing with ICE. Doing this over the course of 12 miles is yielding an average that is probably around 51 mpg. When I was experimenting with two bars on my last tank, and I still wound up with 46 MPG or so. Not bad, but I seem to be doing better by using one bar. After getting 46.9 on my first tank, my Lifetime has gone up to about 47.7 on just over half of the second tank.
  18. How did the old oil look when it came out? Did it look like you should have changed the oil sooner?
