No problem with the rear all weather mats. The rear mats do not cover the middle, but I expect my back seats to be either empty, occupied by Slowpoke, or folded down and with scuba or other gear packed in. So, I'll just chance something happening in the middle spot.

C-Max making noises at night
ScubaDadMiami replied to Testdriver's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I have heard this before, when I would be sitting in my C-MAX for a while with everything powered down. I don't think it's anything to worry about. -
C-MAXes here, there, everywhere.
ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
Spotted a Ruby Red coming the opposite direction from me, when I was on my way up to Fort Lauderdale yesterday. No time for pics. -
Another OW! Smart choice for Florida! Welcome! :)

Looking for cargo rubber mat

That would work for water, but it would probably create a problem for sliding things into the back. Everything has a plus and minus. :headscratch: -
Installed GasPods on liftgate
ScubaDadMiami replied to mtb9153's topic in Accessories & Modifications
The gas pods actually look quite handsome, going nicely with the antennae and the pano glass. I hope it works for you. I'd go for that in a heartbeat. Oh, if you do keep them, please let me know how they hold up when going through carwashes. About the dents, this is a good time to form a relationship with a good body shop that is conveniently located. When you get this repair done, see about working it out where you will come in once a year for touch ups and ding removal. By letting them know that you are planning to come back, maybe this will reduce your cost a little for this time around, since everyone will be building good will for future business. When you do come back for your touch ups, remind them that you are back, just as you promised. Long term, you will end up with a good deal that will keep your C-MAX looking like new throughout the time of your ownership. -
Vanity Plates - claimed, spotted, or available
ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I had to type an explanation of the meaning of the tag, in my application. Even then, they asked me to explain it when I was at the counter. You would have thought I was asking for PORNSTAR or something. -
Vanity Plates - claimed, spotted, or available
ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Just ordered today. This is a black and white screen shot the tag agency gave me. Riddley, I promise that I didn't see your search, showing this as an option, until I just went to search for the thread, after placing my order. I guess C-MAX minds think alike! :hi5: -
Purchase an extended warranty
ScubaDadMiami replied to METROMAN's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
I ended out getting the 125,000 extended warranty for both the car and the tires. I can't exactly remember the price. I just remember cutting one big check for the whole shebang. I have the paperwork in a file. Let me see if it's indicated in the set that I keep in the C-MAX. -
EV+ works pretty well for me. However, I live in flat territory. When I come home, I make the last two blocks in EV+. When I get out of my C-MAX at that time, there will be a very low battery. However, as someone else mentioned in another post, if you have enough experience with many battery devices, you will find that the SOC will move up a bit while the vehicle sits. The next morning, when I get back in to drive away, I have enough juice to move from my spot in the parking garage to the exit gate, so long as I maintain idle speed. I travel perhaps 50 yards in EV. It adds up over time.

Looking for cargo rubber mat
ScubaDadMiami replied to cozzi007's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Here is the version with the finished edge and Velcroed flap. It is from another vehicle, not the C-MAX, but it is a very good likeness. So far, I am strongly considering going with this version. I am going to make my decision by Monday. BTW, the Energi should not be a problem. Actually, they seem to already have the measurements done for the Energi. They sent me some pics of Energi cargo decks. So, it sounds like they are all set for both the Hybrid and Energi versions. :hi5: -

Here is a pic from another vehicle, not the C-MAX, that shows what the d-ring cut out would look like. -

ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
Spotted two within 30 minutes today. The first was almost certainly the one where I spoke to the Argentines, the other day. No time to take a pic of the first. Second was my C-MAX's twin, an Oxford White. I will speculate that this was also a rental. In fact, I am surprised that almost all of the rentals aren't Oxford White, since that would be a cheaper color to touch up than any of the tricoats, and because white sells easily--which I would have thought would be at the top of the list for rental fleets. -

Looking for cargo rubber mat
ScubaDadMiami replied to cozzi007's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Here are the rest of the details. The price is $149. The cover not only will cover the entire back (or you can roll it down, so it just covers the rear with the seats up), but it even wraps over the edge of the storage compartment lid, which you will still be able to open. They really want to work with us. So, since this will be the first sets for the C-MAX, when I told them about the Forum, they asked how we wanted the cargo covers cut. For example, there are tie down d-rings in the deck of the rear. They can make the cover so that the d-rings will come through, finishing off the edges around them. However, this will allow the chance for water to go through that area (which is the tradeoff I am willing to make). They can make the cover so that this area is covered, but this will mean that you won't be able to use the d-rings without taking up the cover. What is the vote on that? They can make the cover so that the 60/40 seat backs just have a nice finished edge where they come together, but this will allow things to fall between the seat backs. They can make it with a zipper, which will prevent this, but which can tear if you don't fully unzip before separating the seat backs. My vote is for the finished edge, but I wanted to hear other opinions. Any other suggestions before they finish the pattern? I am going to finish the order ASAP. This is prime diving season, and I need to move on this. So, if you have an idea to contribute, please do so ASAP. -
The GN2 is what they call a Phablet. It is pretty big, which I prefer, between a phone and a small tablet. Hence, the name. The GS4 is a little smaller, if that is your preference. If you get anything, be sure to look at the ProClip Vehicle Mounting System. You won't be sorry with that one.

Looking for cargo rubber mat
ScubaDadMiami replied to cozzi007's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Great news! I had a CanvasBack Cargo Cover in my previous Mazda Tribute/Ford Escape, and I loved it. I put my wet scuba gear in there, and it worked fantastically in protecting my Tribbie. Never a tear, and never a leak. (The surface of the material will get wet, but it will not go through to the carpet, because there is a waterproof layer sandwiched between the external canvas layers. The material dries quickly.) Perfect fit. Flat, and not raised edges to catch things when you are sliding them in. Stays put to the carpet, light weight, easy to remove and store (I never removed mine, except for cleaning my car), because it goes into a tight roll. I checked on their web site, and I didn't see the C-MAX on there. So, I sent an email, and they got right back to me, saying that they have them, but that they haven't added them to the web site yet. Here is why I love these so much. Rather than having to decide on whether to get the longer version of cargo protector, or going with the shorter version that leaves the seat backs unprotected, the CanvasBack covers are made from a soft material that rolls up. In my Tribute, I would leave the seatbacks without the cover when the seat was up, and the fabric that normally would be on the seat fit into a nice, tight little roll at the base of the seat back, and you would hardly even notice it. When I needed to lay the back seats down, I would just unroll the material at the base of the seat back, covering all the way to the top with a single sheet of material that extended from the liftgate to the top of the back of the seat. Of course, you can opt to leave the CanvasBack covering the back of the seat all the time, but I preferred the look of the roll at the base to leaving it all the way up the back of the seat all the time. I got home too late to reach anybody about the price, but I left voice mail, and I expect to conclude my purchase by tomorrow. If enough people are interested, maybe we can get a group discount. Let me know. I am doing this, either way. I'll let you know what I find out about pricing, and if they will give group discounts. -
Absence of local C-Max advertising

C-MAXes here, there, everywhere.
ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
I saw a ruby red go by, yesterday. No idea if it is one from the rental fleets at Miami International Airport. I live in a big tourism area. So, it could be a rental. -
What kind of cell phone do you have?
ScubaDadMiami replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Is there anyone that can actually reply to emails? I also can't with the Galaxy Note II. When I have tried, I get a response from Maxie that this feature is not available on this phone. I can dictate to the phone for response, but I am just curious to see if there is any phone with which this feature actually works. -
Order to Delivery Time Thread
ScubaDadMiami replied to ScooterS's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
I spent my eight weeks studying the manual, reading here, and watching videos. It still seemed like forever, but it did make the time pass less painfully. BTW, I didn't see that you posted here until after I mentioned about updating us with the delivery info. Thanks! -
Sounds like mystery solved! Go get 'em, Adair! BTW, about the phone thing, I came from the first Galaxy S phone (Epic 4G) with the slide out keyboard, when I got the Galaxy Note II. I was a big QUERTY guy. The new phone has a stylus, and the handwriting recognition is really, really good. Most times, I can write faster than I used to type. Also, you can dictate emails, texts, and the like. The voice recognition is also quite good. I am surprised that I would actually come to say this, but I stopped missing the keyboard pretty much from day one.

That is so great! Will have to see that on the next tank. Any idea when that starts to come up on the screen, e.g., when you get to the yellow or red zone on the gas gauge? I was using NAV in the yellow zone, and I didn't see it. I filled before going to the red.
