Congrats on your new C-Max. I know what you mean about the Sonata Hybrid handling. On my numerous Sonata Hybrid test drives I noticed the chassis became unsettled on any type of uneven surface and bumps in the road would reverberate throughout. EV+ takes EV mode to another level by raising the threshold that causes the ICE to kick on. If you are running your left display in Empower you can see the EV threshold raise and the EV+ symbol appear when the mode is active.

I found the same problem with the dealer web sites and with cars.com. Having X Plan I was able to do an inventory search through the Ford Partner web site and the info there is correct.

Ford has some simulations you can install that give you a feel of how My Ford Touch works and interacts. I have one on my iPhone called MFT that I downloaded prior to purchasing my C-Max. No jokes Laurel. ;)

It can be confusing, Sync is a set of services. My Ford Touch is the way you interact with Sync Services. There is a version of Sync that does not have My Ford Touch and its on the vehicle not equiped with Navigation. Sync with Applink does not work with My Ford Touch and allows you interact with Sync through downloadable apps. I tried today standing away from the rear proximity sensors and it does seem to make a difference. Hasn't failed to open yet.

I use MFT all the time, not intuitive but have not experienced any lockups yet. Sending destinations to Sync by the cloud connected Destinations smart phone app is a nice feature.

Good Post Scooter I always get a Carmax offer prior to dealing on a trade. Also some employers will give additional discounts for buying a Hybrid. Through my wifes company we got X Plan plus an additional $3,000 hybrid discount. Our insurance company Travelers also gives an additional Hybrid discount off your auto policy but you have to ask for it.

Thanks for the update. I will post back what they find. Update 11.13.2012 Dealer is having to replace parts and the C-Max will be in the shop for at least 2 more days. Dealer provided me with a 2013 Escape 1.6L Ecoboost until my C-Max is repaired.

Thanks, I read that in the manual too and I tried to reset the warning light. Including using the funnel and a sugestion from another Ford forum with this issue to clean the inside of the inlet seal. Still the problem persists, I am currently out of town but my step-daughter has driven the C-Max numerous times like described in the manual but the error light stays on. I am currently driving my Passat TDI on my trip while my new less than 1000 mile C-Max sits at home with this error till Tuesday when I drop it by the dealer.

Thanks, didn't have time to visit the dealer before my trip so I took my Passat TDI. I have dealer appointment on Monday to check this out. I have read on other Ford models where this same error required fuel system parts replacement. Hopefully this will not be my case.

The engine never started when I heard a click and reverse motion started in EV.

I am getting ready to leave for a trip and now am receiving Check Fuel Filler Inlet error on the dash. Anyone seen this?

I tried playing a DVD-A and the player does not recognize and ejects the disk. I have the SEL with package 302a.

This happened to me for the first time today. Going to lunch with temp in the mid 70's. Hit the start button, release the brake, and shift to R...nothing. I double checked to make certain the brake was released the display said ready to go and the transmission was in R, still nothing. I did not do anything other than wait to see what would happend and after about 10-15 seconds I heard a click and the C-Max starting moving backwards in EV mode. Battery levels were around 50%.

I don't have any problem with closing either. I haven't had a chance to test this yet but I believe the proximity sensors in the bumper is triggering a stop command. I suspect the open kick must be short and quick to keep from triggering a stop. If you look at the manual it mentions this.

I believe the C-Max horsepower tends to cause less than EPA rated economy. When you drive a car without power even under full throttle the engine doesn't waste much fuel. FE is porportional to mass x linear acceleration = kinetic energy. A vehicle such as the Prius is incapable of generating much linear acceleration so fuel economy is more reproducable and achievable. http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=306809

This could explain some of the problems we early adobters are seeing with our C-Max. Looks like there are a lot of inexperienced workers at the plant now. Still Ford QA teams should catch something like misaligned body panels as its fairly obvious. Unfortunately for Ford I regularly give reviews to TrueDelta, Consumer Reports, and JD Power. I have experienced the hatch unlocks but doesn't lift problem. If I hit the button on the hatch back the motor will lift automatically.
