Anyone considered doing a Nitrogen fill in their tires? Local Ford dealer does this for $40.

I am assuming they properly activated the complementary Sirius NavTraffic option. I have been using Sirius Travel Link since taking delivery of my C-Max for about 3 weeks. Have you called Sirius to verify activation?

Might be worth experimenting with, not certain if the SD interface would support the higher transfer rates. Local Frys has some good deals on SD cards on friday.

Those emission standards in the EU will be equal the US soon. The biggest downsides to diesel in the US is fuel quality and price. Diesel right now is .80+ per gallon more than RUG and you have to get higher mpgs just to break even on the addition expense. On the same driving cycle my C-Max is beating my Passat TDI by 4mpg.

I think duplicating Prius numbers will require more effort. The Prius has restrictions on the amount on energy it can consume built in (smaller engine, less HP, lower torque). Think of a shower head with a water restriction plate built in, no matter how much you open the valve its impossible for the water (fuel) to flow beyond a certain rate. The C-Max is more like a water saving shower head with multiple settings and while its still efficient there are settings (throttle input) that can cause effiency to drop.

Usually to do this the traffic has to be light, pulse from a light if you are on an incline with the ICE to about 50mph and then glide in EV mode.

The 57mpg was achieved as the total for my 15 mile trip to work. i can repeat this easily if the temps are not too low or high.

You are probably right, the only reference I see to electric heat is for the Energi. I know my TDI has electric heat that warms the cabin until the diesel engine can come up to temp.

Congrats, I can't get the avatar to change either. I figured out how to change the profile photo. There is a bug in the IP. Board software that causes errors when cropping. There is a MyView gauge you can configure to display total amount of KW that the accessories consume. Would be interesting to know what the threshold is for the accessories to trigger the ICE.

I have to give my dealer credit for taking care of this. They gave me a choice of several 2013 vehicles to drive while mine was repaired. Chose the 2013 Escape 1.6 ecoboost. Ask for a 2013 Fusion but they only had 1 left on the lot.

Just got mine back from the dealer yesterday with the same part replaced. Took about 2 days to get the parts and about 3 hours to replace/road test.

Most of this could be resolved by Ford adding an Eco button to dial back horsepower and throttle response. I used to get Lexus hybrid loaners during my many visits to their service department and none could achieve EPA ratings without engaging the ECO button most had equipped. The exception to this was the CT200h but at 0-60 in over 10 seconds it is based on the Prius.

The capless fuel system will cause a check engine light. You usually see a "Check Fuel Filler Inlet Warning" warning first. My C-Max is at the dealer right now awaiting parts and I am driving a 2013 Escape loaner. They have to order a part they don't stock and there is a 2 day turn around. The Escape is nice but on the same route I got 21 today vs high 40s in my C-Max. :(

I noticed the same thing and thought it was an anomoly but when I topped off the tank fuelly reported 48mpg.
