According to Fuelly there are at least 30 Prius V owners that are getting below 40 mpg? The combined EPA rating for the Prius V is 42, any speculation about why this set of owners are unable to achieve EPA?

If fuel economy is the top priority why not get the Energi?

I tested a CT200h too but at 6'3" there was no room in the front, back, or hatch that I could find. The wide center console overlaps the accelerator pedal to force you right leg into an odd position.

Sorry for your frustration, 3.1.3 is the latest version. Do you have the SEL? The other thing I would suggest is using a different cable and if that doesn't work a Master Reset.

Have you checked our version of Sync to make sure its the latest?

I believe the electric motors current load determines if EV can be used at higher speeds. I also believe the same electric motors are used in the Energi and C-Max but the lower gears of the Energi act as torque multipliers in helping the Energi sustain higher speeds. I tested this on interstate with the ICE running. Next I slipped in behind an 18 wheeler to draft and almost immediately EV mode engaged. I then pulled out from behind the 18 wheeler and the ICE reengaged.

One thing that helped with the lockups was using Tuneup to clean my songs and tags

Agreed this is true for most buyers and certainly sets the owners expectations higher than what most can probably achieve. Having 3 TDI's in my house that always exceeded EPA I became accustomed to their ratings being off. Today's fill-up recorded a marked drop in FE with the cooler (40s) weather.

Those Gentex mirror are excellent. Installed one in my Jetta TDI.

I have a 160gb iPod Classic and haven't had any problems. Sometimes in my VW the iPod will not be recognized until I do a hard reboot on the iPod.

MFT is covered in the owners manual begining with page 426.

I know the Energi is capable of speeds up to 85 mph in EV, not certain why Ford chose 62 mph except to ace the EPA test.
