  1. No issues with my CMax but I've had whistling sounds before in older vehicles due to foreign objects (leaves, paper) getting sucked into the system (no filters back then).
  2. Did someone mention "hauling"? :)
  3. The link I provided has a list of participating vendors. Today, I picked up my two jugs of 0w-20 at wal-wart and printed out the rebate form (from the link) which is ready to go in the mail tomorrow. :waiting: I might use my in-laws address for a couple more....... :hi5:
  4. According to this link, Walmart is a participating vendor. If so, that means you can get a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 synthetic for about $15! :happy feet: http://slickdeals.net/f/7701409-5qt-mobil-1-full-synthetic-motor-oil-from-15-after-12-rebate-in-walmart-stores?v=1 I hate rebates but I'll go for this one. Note: limit two per household.
  5. As the OP of this thread, I should follow up that it never happened again nor did I have it looked at.
  6. Hello, Although many Energi owners are here, you probably will have better luck asking your question on the Energi specific forum: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/ I would suggest finding out if there is a code associated with it. An auto parts store will read them for free but may not see manufacturer specific codes.
  7. I've considered diesels for my wife and her highway commute but the high cost of diesel here (often 20-40 cents more than premium) plus the much higher running costs (more frequent and higher cost oil changes, urea refills, etc) cancel out the better hwy mpg's they can get. Finally, only VW's are available locally and their reputation isn't so great. GOOD LUCK and enjoy your new ride!

    Hi!

CONGRATS! :happy feet: Former 2010 III (w/solar) owner. Pri are great cars if mileage is the be-all, end-all of your needs. I thought it was for me but after a couple of years of ownership, I (we) came to the realization that it lacked in so many ways some of which you've pointed out. Once you start driving the CMax, you're going to notice many things Pri owners have been asking for for years. Ford listened. :hi5:
  9. Bringing spam deflectors online just incase......
  10. I thought this was called the Grand C-Max? The lack of a B-piller might spell trouble in a side crash. Anyhoo, this style would be a GREAT plug-in platform that the current market sorely lacks.
  11. Confirmed by GM this morning so it's officially, umm, official and past the rumor/concept stage. It also has an official webpage on the chevrolet site: http://www.chevrolet.com/culture/article/bolt-ev-concept-car.html
  12. You might try an independent audio shop. Those guys know how to quickly tear cars apart! LOL Heck they might even give you some free advice/pointers on how to DIY.
  13. Uhh-ohh! Yes, all the panels and carpets can be removed down to the bare metal. Sorry I don't have the workshop manual to tell you how. I had the same thing happen with a gas can that was supposedly sealed and learned from it. I now carry anything like this in a tied, large plastic trash bag as insurance. My last trip was a huge portable roaster filled with 10 pounds of cooked pinto beans. It was very difficult to get a large leaf bag around it but it was well worth the piece of mind.
  14. IIRC, the radio will shut off in under 10 minutes. All of your time references were vague so you probably hit that limit. Push the power button without your foot on the brake and it will enter accessory mode. The green car with arrows "Ready" ICON will not be on. Personally I would leave the car in ready mode (with everything turned off except radio) at the drive in and try to arrive with a full hybrid battery. Depending on the hybrid battery SOC (state of charge) you may be able to make it through the entire movie without the ICE starting up. But if it does, it will only run a couple of minutes to recharge the hybrid battery which keeps the very small 12v battery charged also. The ICE is very quiet during this mode so I doubt anyone would notice (especially if it's a loud movie, LOL). If you stay in accessory mode using the 12v battery to power the radio, I think it will run it down.
  15. This. I've done it a couple of times for other minor issues. Although I rarely publicly advise this, I will even perform a "hard reboot" by disconnecting the 12v battery for a few minutes to see if that solves more important issues. Luckily, I've never had to do this step with the CMax.
  16. Here's a list of the top green cars. http://www.greenercars.org/greenest-meanest/greenest I share this because the top 3 contenders, which are EV's, along with the FFE (#11) have their respective fuel economy listed in miles per kWh. They are in the 3.xx range similar to the OP's results. So, again congrats on your very efficient driving. :shift:
  17. Yeah, rounding off Hannah's basic figures to 1200 miles/300kWh=4 miles per kWh which is considered a commendable EV economy number. My Energi displays MPGe and I typically get 130-140 MPGe readouts alongside my 4 miles per kWh rating on my daily commute so I agree with Snow's math. Lately I've been pre-conditioning to 85f and WOW what decadence! My kids love it and will rush out to the car and bask in the warmth (and text....) while I finish up my morning routine (you know walking around the house turning off all the lights, tv's, computers, etc that they said they turned off).
  18. Maybe late '16: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/gm-build-chevy-bolt-michigan-220327311.html
  19. Last one and I'll let sleeping dog lie, I promise! ;) "I'm glad people are starting to see the 2015 infotainment system for what it is, absolute junk. Subaru should have never foisted this trash on to its customers."
  20. Hee-hee-hee, I recognize that Pri-baru. It's a creation by Autobeyours an independent shop that specializes in bringing wrecked Pri back to life. http://www.autobeyours.com/ It's been finished and looks a lot better painted: http://www.autobeyours.com/06%20Baja%20Prius.htm I'm really interested in their hybrid powered boat. :shift: Now that's thinking outside the box! http://www.autobeyours.com/1996%20Silverton%20312.htm
  21. Prius campers have reported 3/4 gallon per hr using a/c. So at todays gas prices, that's about $12 per night! YMMV with the CMax.
  22. KC, why is this such an important issue to you?
  23. No, I think you are a victim of geography. It's also quite humid here along the Texas gulf coast and I run into this issue too. We Energi owners have had the discussion several times because a/c use (even with the a/c button off) is quite evident since there is an immediate reduction in estimated EV range whenever it activates. It's rare but sometimes the kWh usage is low; however, most of the time for me it's near halfway up (2500 kWh) the usage gauge.
  24. Light colors are best. The absolute best color I've found is the light brown earth tone family with marketing names like champagne gold, desert sand, driftwood pearl, etc. but that color family isn't offered in the CMax. My wife's metallic white does a much better job than my ruby red at hiding the day to day buildup of road grime. Concur with Frank on the SEL's. We've had three (long story) with zero issues over 60,000+ combined miles.
  25. After reading a couple of horror stories from Prius owners getting the polarities wrong and frying very expensive computer modules, I won't do it unless it is a true emergency which I have yet to encounter. I've told folks stranded in parking lots, "I have an electric car and have an extremely high voltage battery." which they understood as a no. It's not the whole truth but it's not a lie either! ;) Instead of jumping from our hybrid(s), I used a battery charger with a 10amp boost setting on our last ICE vehicle that had an occasional dead battery.
