Jus, just curious how many members we have now in the cmax forum so we can get a rough ratio % of those who made it to 600+ miles compared to total users. yes i know not all users are cmax owners (like me) and not all posters try for 600 miles but just curious.

Jus wanted to say congrats to all the new additions here to the 600 club and the new record breakers. great job everyone. keep it up. you are truly an inspiration to all fuel / planet savers.

yes mtb you are correct, it's how many EV miles for the current tank and the secret to high mpg. the more EV miles on the tank the bigger your mpg.

Ford engineers say don't leave it on all the time.

hmmm, there were a few things not on the pdf that were later shown in the post here. i hope they do add the instant mpg display (in decimal numbers)on the dash that was requested in the chat session. i can't believe a hybrid car like this doesn't have this in BIG numbers right in your face on the dash. my gas Passat has this feature. oh well German engineering puts most to shame :)

someone had created a spreadsheet or online calculator to do the math to make sure the plug in was worth it or not for you. not sure if anyone can repost that link?

I don't tweet either , thank God. I would like to know: - if the 2014 Body style changes pix can be posted so we know what it will look like and if its a negative or positive physical appearance change. - what tests have been run on the new body mods to confirm the differences are statistically significant compared to the 2013 model? - is the 2014 order date set or still up in the air? please post these if you can

pipe, I'm wondering how your temp fix is affecting your mpgs. be safe.hope it gets fixed asap.

mtb, nope, always was $550 for USA purchases. never read $800. go back and find your source.

thenamac, you can try to find a better dealer at dealerrater.com, as well as verify others don't like your dealer, and voice your complaints about your own dealer so others are forewarned.

Anyone getting better MPG with the new update?
salsaguy replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
mtb, if you still had your EV+ locations after your dealer attempted to install the update, it might have not taken as that is a telltale sign the update didn't work. you are still supposed to lose ev+. have you confirmed it goes into EV when driving above 65mph?? if not it needs to be redone by them. best of luck. -
Rocco, hate to ask but did she accidentally think the car was off when it was in fact on and thats why she crashed, due to the hybrid effect? (silent when in EV mode). sorry to hear about the huge repair bill. how she didn't get hurt. glad the cmax protected her. did the airbag go off? most likely crumple zone damage which is usually severe and expensive but life saving when you need it.

Tool for the third dimension - mapping route altitude
salsaguy replied to fbov's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
for those trying to do this on your tablet or mobile phone it seems like it doesn't work ...at first. you have to click on the "turn by turn list" icon which looks like a paper with 3 lines of a to-do list on it, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to use "classic" view instead of the mobile version view. it's still very hard to copy the url though as the pop up box keeps wanting to disappear. i had to try 4 different tablet browsers before i found one that worked. bottom line, better to try this task using your laptop or pc instead to avoid the frustrations. very cool tool though for sure. -

great science results Jus. hope you can find those extra few "squirts"... :lol2: .  -
every car has GPS whether or not you bought it. this is for the 911 emergency in case they need to track you if you killed or kidnapped someone or you call 911 hands-free and they need to track your location. the navigation package with the maps and driving directions is what you pay extra for which uses the already installed GPS unit in the car to interface with.

well we Jus might have to go to Galpin if push comes to shove. not sure who is the dealer who handles the folks who use the AAA/Costco car buying discount pricing/no hassle folks down here in North OC. my mom lives in Glendale and cutie75's family lives in the valley so.....my brother now lives right around the corner from Galpin, supposedly. i haven't been to his place yet though. you will have to drop me some names at Galpin if it comes to that. btw, went to a concert last week and they had a booth featuring Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) and they had a wheel of fortune to soon to win prizes. i won a GAS hat for my son.

sadly 1 in 10 dealers (if that) "get it".
-
oh ok yes it will help your range on the next tank but hurt your current mpg numbers if you use the gallons at the pump method, which you should.

Countdown to cutie75 and salsaguy's Cmax...
salsaguy replied to salsaguy's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
yeah it will be nice to see how the 2014s perform compared to the 13s. just hope they don't mess up the styling to much with the FE mods and make it look weird/ugly. -
Photoshoppers, all of you !!!! what an outrage ;) . :lol2: . :stirpot:

Countdown to cutie75 and salsaguy's Cmax...
salsaguy replied to salsaguy's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
well she started her new job this week and the drive (23 miles one way over 3 freeways with traffic mainly coming home) is already driving her crazy. :( doesn't help that she has a gas guzzler. she really NEEDS the C-Max ASAP!!! anyone want to be nice and loan yours out? Will be a while though before she gets hers..sadly. she didn't have to deal with traffic or freeways at her last job really and was able to take mostly streets. we shall wait and see how it goes. expect to see her fuelly numbers drop starting from today as she just filled up today (yet to be posted to fuelly as if 11pm Wed). Edit: actually she has been getting very good numbers with her commute to her new job. Found some good alternatives bit actually the freeway isn't so bad after all. -
this is a good theory since we know from electronic battery tech that on cameras, if you use rechargeable, if the voltage drops a bit slowly over time, the device fails to work, yet it's not completely discharged, just below the voltage required to be useable by the device. whereas on an alkaline better they hold the voltage constant longer but then usually go dead. same thing here, the car needs xx.x volts to work but when water intrusion gets in the cable its shortting it out, causing a voltage drop and drain on the battery till it's below the level needed to function as planned. ========== quoted text below ============== - hence the suspicion that the battery was not deeply depleted. This theory could also help explain what seems to be multiple causes for our episodes: anything that reduces the battery voltage modestly (or moderately) could be enough to trigger a shutdown, even though the voltage reduction does not appear severe enough to show up as a traditionally dead depleted battery requiring a long recharge. Looked at this way, the core problem is the hyper-sensitive relay ( or other component) and the trigger events come in the form of anything that moderately depletes the battery (water in a connector, a phone link that stays on, etc).

just needed a black one to complete the monochrome quadruple :) :0
