  1. Haha to funny but not true. Trust me I'm such a techie that I'd be chomping at the bit to drive it for real and be posting 10x more than I already so...once my wife let me borrow her cmax of course. So no we don't have one....yet
  2. That is JUS too funny. You even put a 4Runner in there which is my wife's current SUV ('cept hers is the champagne/brownish silver color). Yes when will we get our cmax...it's been a long time coming.hopefully this year.... You'll be the first to know after my real family of course.
  3. Congrats on your CMax 6000 EV miles means at least 10k regular gas miles. For gadgets be sure to replace that fugly fishing pole antenna with a modern shark fin antenna. This is a modern car not a 1950s-1980s car!! Come on Ford. See here: http://www.juicedhybrid.com/Ford-C-Max-Shark-Fin-Replacement-Antenna-s/1345.htm Or similar And this discussion: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/1170-shark-fin-antenna/
  4. scary indeed.hope you can get it resolved and it doesn't happen again, although to the shop it would be better if it did so they could see it actually happen so they can determine root cause and then do corrective action. Intermittent issues are the worst thing for any manufacturing company. Better if it fails 100% then at least it's visible and fixable.
  5. Borg what did the dealer say? Did they offer to fix/replace tire or wheel if it's under warranty? Tim, unless they knew what a good one sounds like your advice won't help much as they have nothing to compare it with unless they take off one of the other wheels and do the same... Is that what you meant? I agree you don't want a wheel to crack/fail at hwy speed and have an accident.
  6. Cool.yeah I saw the videos about it. The VW CC had this feature as well. Would love to have it on my Passat. This new Passat is much longer/bigger than my last one and I still have a hard time getting used to it and it makes parking much harder for me. Thank goodness I had the rear view camera installed.helps a lot to see the sidewalk/curb on the right and to get s close to the car behind me when aligning the car perfectly. Wish they offered front bumper camera as well.
  7. With the hybrid cars you should hardly be using the actual friction brakes very much. Most here say they never get brake dust on wheels because the regen brake is used mostly when you press the brake down for the first 75% off travel on the portal and that doesn't wear like normal brakes. The friction part with rotor to pad only gets applied when you come to a complete stop or when you slam on them for emergency braking. if you only have 6000 miles and your rotors have deep grooves in them, something is wrong with your car or braking technique. Your brakes should last a long time in a hybrid car from what I've read here. Time to check it out at dealer and put in a claim to customer service at corporate. Perhaps a soft/bad batch??
  8. Not sure maybe it was the other Ford rep?? Will have to check
  9. After what happened to me 2 years ago (You read my PM) I have lost 25 lbs so you shouldn't have to worry too much about losing mpgs Jus. I'm a feather weight now.;( I'd love to get a ride with the master one day for sure. Need to set that up. We still need a mini meet up for so cal cmaxers
  10. Yeah I do the same pretty much I log my odometer total miles, trip miles, dash computer mpg for tank (always overstated/high), station name/city, the avg speed in mph for the tank (so I can enter in the %city/% why splits in fuelly. Yes my car actually shows avg speed for trip/tank), and other notes as needed so that I can go back as needed if there is something bad trend for some reason. Then I hand calculate the mpg number using trip miles / gallons filled into tank and enter that into fuelly, not what the dash shows for mpgs. Great site to use.
  11. No thanks.the cmax will be flee my wife.I got MY new car after my last Passat (2004.5) was totaled out after getting rear ended by a semi trunk. Now it's HER turn for a new car. She was supposed to get her new car before I did but the accident happened and that forced things out of order. Her current car is a 1999 Toyota 4Runner that gets about 19 mpg avg. She is the one that needs a hybrid and new car badly more than anything. She hates filling up weekly instead of monthly as it will be with the cmax. And we want new to get all the latest updates and process changes from the factory and the 14's have the new modsfor better mpg (supposedly). With our salaries there is no reason to get used cars. She babies her cars like I do mine and hers has lasted a long time. She deserves a new car after 15 years. But she doesn't want to part with the SUV as there are too many memories from that car as her only son was born around that time when she got it so he grew up in that car. Used is great flee some but not us. Nothing like new car smell. Used is not as great and you don't feel as connected to a car when you inherit the smells of someone else..
  12. Doing fuelly.com helps to show you how your mpgs are increasing (hopefully) with the car breaking in and changes in the weather and your driving changes. It will eventually show you when you have maxed out after full break in time has been reached (about 10-12k miles) It helps show you trends. It's not that hard to do. Just always print the receipt out and write on the receipt your miles driven since last fill/trip reset and what the dash shows as your mpg so you can log it on your notes on fuelly. when you get home (or get a chance) enter the data on the site. If you have a smart phone you can put a bookmark to the site on your home screen as a shortcut so you can do it on the field at the station. Take a look at my fuelly or jus-a-cmax's by clicking on our fuelly icons to get an idea of what we put in our logs over there. For those filling up every week like my wife I can see how it may seem to take too much time out of your schedule (not really but...) buit doing it once a month....come on....no problemo. 5-7 mins max The more the merrier. Enjoy.
  13. Welcome Wellness. Be sure to tell her about this forum/site and all the gas saving and high mpg tips she can learn.also have her join fuelly.com to log her mpg numbers for each tank.
  14. Welcome shiny Glad you found us. I fly y the cmax fever as well last year and have been in the research mode done then reading up as much as I can here.hope to get my words w CMax soon.... As for the gas pods they help only if you drive a lot on the highway/freeway over 55/65 mph over long distances which will offset the reduced mpgs the cmax has on the hwy. They don't seem to help as much in town/city when driving under 45mph Be sure to sign up on fuelly.com and add your cars and track your mps. If you post bunch of baseline tanks without the pods, then you can submit your logs to the gasp of team to get a significant discount on the pods when you sign up for their tester program. See their site for details. get a baseline of mpgs without then install and get a bunch of mpg tanks with them to compare. Be sure to buy the magnetic pods and not the adhesive ones so you can play with the exact placement to tweak to get best mpg and also to remove when cleaning car or if you end up not liking them flee a petulant thing. You really don't need to use them to get great mpgs of you follow the advice from jus-a-CMax and recumlence and the folks on the "800/700/600 miles driven on one tank" club. Not many cars/MPVS like the cmax out there. Don't be another lemming and fall into the trap of being forced into getting a prius (tin can). Toyota lost a lost a lot of faith/trust by customers after the way they dealt with the accelerator/floor mat issue. Their quality levels are not what they used to be. Most of the issues that brought down the initial scores on the Ford cmax were related to the my Ford touch dash infotainment system but most of that is now all worked out by updates and many folks here LOVE their MFT and wouldn't live without it.
  15. Sorry for any confusion about my statement about diesels. I was strictly speaking about the mpg numbers across the 3 types of cars. Hybrids - highest mpg in town under 45 mph Plug in/electrics - highest MPGe in town under 35 mph Diesels - highest mpg on long trips with constant speed above 65/70 mph
  16. Not sure what else is gone since I didn't read the entire manual just looked up that 1 page from the Ford downloads site.
  17. Yes I agree. I think they are taking about wheelbase length not the cubic inches in volume. Since the Fusion didn't have the mpg fiasco because the 47/47 was based on that car maybe the masses have decided to stay worth Ford but flock to the Fusion instead of the CMax. It's obvious they just want the highest mpg they can get. Keep agree that the 2 cars are not on the same car class (sedan vs mpg) so I don't see glee many can just switch from one to the other when the Fusion wasn't even on their short list when shopping for a car that has the room and height of the CMax. Unless they were open and just wanted a hybrid with high mpg and all other factors didn't matter. Not usually the case. Most likely flawed/incomplete data flee this report/article.
  18. Ashley as soon as I get our 2014 cmax ordered I will do that. I think I sent you a private email on another topic but didn't see a response yet. Not sure if the model we are thinking of will be available on a dealer lot or not but I know we'd prefer a brand new one of the factory floor instead of on a dealer lot to make sure it had the latest and greatest stuff and upgrades and quality process improvements done. A lot changes in a production of a car on the mfg floor in a years time. Just not sure the wife will want to wait months to get her new car once she decides it's a GO. also don't like the fact that you lose some of the incentives when you order vs pick from stock.
  19. 1) sad to see no 2014 owners in the 600 mile club yet but it's still early. 2) Justin, why didn't you list your name on the list? You are the original member and deserve to be included. Don't be so modest.
  20. Nice review.Glad it's been good to you. Surely by now someone has created a MFT cheat sheet pdf file with all the voice commands to make it easier?? Or a link to one on the Ford official CMax forum for owners??
  21. Here is an article on the sales being down: http://gas2.org/2014/04/29/ford-c-max-mpg-revision-hurt-sales-substantially/
  22. Yes this really sucks. I just downloaded the 2014 manual and did a search for the word lifetime and came up with nothing :( They probably removed it as many didn't know how to reset it and early driving miles by the owner learning how to drive Hybrid led to early poor mpg numbers and then people complaining about it getting less than advertised mpg and then posting bad reviews on the net and suing Ford.
  23. I'm not sure what you meant about your pano roof issue. I thought it was just glass and didn't pop/tilt up or down??
