Ford to lower fuel economy rating on C-Max hybrid
slampro replied to slampro's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
That link didn't work for me, but here is the same info at usatoday. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2013/08/15/ford-cmax-mp/2660371/ -
:woot: :love_shower: :happy feet: :yahoo: 11:35am - railcar "Empty, released by the customer" . Now it's just a 300ish mile drive to the dealer. C'mon mister truck driver be my :superhero: and get it here this afternoon. :shift:
-
:future: You are reading my thoughts. I have been calling and waiting to hear "empty" instead of "load". Or to hear if the car moves on in a direction away from me, that too would indicate it was unloaded.

That's what I was thinking(hoping) it meant. I am off today, work full day tomorrow. Sure would be nice to get a call this afternoon/evening.

Ford to lower fuel economy rating on C-Max hybrid

Just found this over at Blue Oval. http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130815/OEM05/130819953/ford-to-restate-fuel-economy-on-c-max-hybrid#axzz2c3aN1wrZ -
This is a bit different message from the railcar status phone. It said "Placed at customer location, Albuquerque, NM. 4:15am, on BNSF, and there is no eta available." Message to BNSF......Put my car on a truck and send it to El Paso.....NOW!!!!!! ;) It has been less than 500 miles away for 5 days...UGH!

I have seen people use a product called Nightshades to do headlights, taillights, and reflectors. Didn't know you could do it with plasti-dip. Looks good....Heck the whole car is looking nice. :hat_tip: I will be experimenting with it soon. BTW ... I have heard of cops giving people tickets for darkening the taillights, and I'm in Texas. I am surprised California would allow it.

I saw this article too. They have not started job 1 for 2014. So, how would this reviewer have gotten one? Does Ford build some early to get them reviewed?

Yep, it's not far away at all. They just need to get it on a truck. Could already be, I don't know. At any rate, it should be here very soon.

Yeah, I have learned that once it hits the closest railyard which has an automobile distribution facility, it gets trucked the rest of the way. Cannot track the trucking from the railroad phone numbers. The dealer can. Some trucking companies, you can find info about and try to follow. But usually by the time you find the trucking info, the car will probably be delivered. Looking at google maps I can see a huge distribution point in Albuquerque. (fingers crossed) That we will be driving it this weekend.

8/14 - 3:10am - Albuquerque, NM. There is a big auto distribution facility there. I am thinking it will probably be unloaded from the train, and find a truck to bring it on down I-25. It is taking 4 days to go less than 500 miles. :gaah: It should be here any day now. But of course, I have been saying that for a week....Lol. :waiting: I could have driven to Detroit, and been back by the time it gets through the last 500 miles.

Nice!! Welcome to the forum! Great to see businesses using the Cmax. What kind of business are they being used for? Do you have "fleet" vehicles with DRL's, or just dealer bought? Will be looking forward to hear how they perform.

My dealer refuses to install MFT 3.51 or 3.62 updates
slampro replied to spkehl's topic in General Discussion
Enter your vin # here http://www.etis.ford.com/ Click vehicle and enter vin. It will show you updates for your car. Also check your Sync account, and it will tell you about the Sync update. Is there another dealer nearby that you can call? -
I have to work in the morning, in 7 hours. I couldn't sleep(not b/c of the car), just got hot, couldn't get comfortable, and the dogs started making noise. All is calm now, don't know what they were barking at. I decided to go ahead and check on the car. It moved!! :clapping: 8/13 - 1:53am - Tolar, NM Now I'm not going to be able to sleep.

There is a Ford employee at blue oval forum that will look up the status of an ordered vehicle for you. He has a set of rules that he is pretty strict about. I was not submitting my request correctly.

Condolences to you and your family. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have been reading a bit already. There is a wealth of information here about the Cmax, and some mighty fine people to go with it. I would suggest entering your vin at http://www.etis.ford.com/ to ensure you have all the latest updates. If you do not have the panoramic glass roof, you will most likely need the headliner fix done.

Still in Clovis, NM. Been there for almost 48 hours. It's only about 300 miles away. This last leg of the trip is quickly becoming the longest. I am still sure it will be here sometime this week.
-
Thanks, I was kinda wondering about that.

I don't really know what is going on. It arrived in Clovis, NM on 8/10 at 5:22pm. The railcar has not moved. I read an old post on a different forum. A person(in El Paso), said their car was trucked in from Belen, NM. It is Sunday, the dealers are closed on Sundays, and I have no way to know what is going on. Was hopeful for Monday, but I don't know. I am confident it will be this week though. So I am still very :happy feet: I have not tracked it for 4 hours already....I mean I gotta sleep sometime. Well yeah, I know. But I figure that shouldn't take more than a couple hours. If it gets to dealer in the morning, I should have it by that evening. If not, then the next day, I would think. Yes, there will be pictures. There are very little pics of black C max in the gallery. :camera: Thanks! Yep, anxious to start driving it indeed. The Escape hybrid(was excited to get it at the time) has been great at my :shift: job, and the C max should be even better.

Another problem. Don't buy a CMax: Broken hatch latch

I had never heard of that dealer rater site. I just went there, and not surprising to me, my dealer was #1 for my zip code. :hat_tip:
