  1. Rainette is in the shop and will be until her part comes in, which is estimated to be September 24. I had the car serviced on a Friday. The headliner recall and updates were done. They checked my car from head to toe. My daughter and I got on the interstate Saturday and 22 miles later the dinging started and the red light appeared. Seems I was out of coolant. We were towed to the dealer and the diagnosis was made: cracked intake manifold. Seems a little new for this to happen. Just glad it happened while we were still in our town. So, I wait for the new part to arrive. :::sigh::: I sure miss my car.
  2. My co-worker is looking at getting a new car. She said she would soon join me waaaay out there lol
  3. So sorry this happened. My kids think I am crazy to park far out in the lot. I would be sick if something happened like that.
  4. This is not good. Not good at all.
  5. Whoohoo. I do wish it was more green than blue, but I love my ice storm.
  6. Yes yes yes! Do they just "drive them" or are they obsessed like, uhm, some of us?
  7. Laurel, I think my dad has you beat! I don't think he has 2000 miles yet. I am at 5000+ Lol.
  8. I hear ya on the heavy, Liz! But I have too much invested at this point.
  9. It's not big, it's not small. I use the miche!
  10. My purse is much too big. I keep it on the front seat or behind the console on the floor in the back seat. But with a full car where do I stash it!?
  11. This message board does not like pics from me. I really didn't snap many. Too busy having fun. :).
  12. Baton Rouge? Are you in Louisiana? I am in lake Charles!
  13. Funny how the car talking gets a different name than the car itself!?! Sync I usually call hazel. No clue it just popped out. The car itself is Rainette.
  14. I try to be honest. I will say there is not enough room for stuff we needed up front. Each a water bottle, cell phones, snacks, etc. it was odd trying to find a place to balance my beef jerky to drive and nibble lol. And where to put my purse? In the back with the passengers? In the hatch? I need things while driving - Chapstick and money!
  15. Friday I got off work early, picked up a friend, her daughter and her grandson. Loaded my cmax and hit the road. We were headed to Broussard, LA for an evening wedding. While my car is smaller than their trucks and SUVs, I found it held overnight bags and extras for 3 women and a 3-yr-old well. A little tweaking if luggage placement and it was good to go. Everything fits fine going; it's the return trip that nothing seems to fit no matter what you drive! We had plenty of room. Everyone was comfy with the ac. I worried about people in the back getting hot. I asked if they got hot to let me know. They never spoke up and I know she would have if they were hot. My GPS rocks. Plugged in the address for the wedding and for the hotel. Off we went. I normally navigate and hubby drives so it was awkward to drive in a strange place and watch the screen. We even searched for a Walgreens nearby and zipped on over. Music was great. No worries about finding stations along the way. The wedding was beautiful. The reception was HOT but nice. The next day we loaded up and hit the road home. Lots of heavy rain. Loved my rain sensor wipers. I never had to fiddle turning them higher or lower while trying to drive in the interstate. I never felt unsafe in the rain. I never felt like a tiny car in the interstate. I cannot wait to take more trips! I managed 38 or 39 mpg. I am thrilled with that driving 70 on the interstate and driving in a strange town. Ac on pretty high most of the driving because its hot here -99+. Ugh. Love my car!
  16. Mine did this when the hubby would call. Instead of hanging up the call it would lock and reboot. Does it when daughter calls too. These are both cell phones. And fairly new ones!
  17. Mine can do it! Since the hatch update that's something I have noticed. This morning when leaving it was in EV. this normally doesn't happen until the car warms up. I can take off from s red light an EV on up to 55 mph with no problem.
  18. Sounds like the button on the frame of the drivers side isn't working. Does the car chime if you open the door with the lights on after turning the car off? I'd it doesn't then it sounds like that button isn't working correctly.
  19. Yes. I plug mine in after work and while running errands. I like to keep it charged. Just never know. Mine recognizes my phone and starts playing the music. I think there is a setting to stop this. Haven't had time to look.
  20. I don't think it's an upgrade, meaning whole system upgrade. I think it's more like tweaking a few things. Look at what we talk about on just this board. Grill covers, EV at higher than 62mph, having to feather the pedal, slow warm ups. Seems somebody has been listening. These are all the things we have complained about or wanted to see improved. Now they are doing just that. It's like my phone. I never updated. Why should I? It works fine. I like it the way it is. There were one or two things I didn't want to see change. After awhile the new apps didn't work. I was unable to do things. I did the update and wow!! Yes I lost a few beloved things. But I gained so much more. I enjoy my phone so much more now. Sometimes change IS good.
  21. Thanks for posting this. You do a much better job at explaining it. Same thing is happening to me. Love it.
  22. Well said riddley. It's HOTT here. Really hot. My mpg plummeted when the temp rose. It's even hotter now than it was then and my mpgs are at the best they have ever been. Maybe they won't have model updates. They will just reprogram the existing cars. Kidding! My dad had this update too so I told him to keep an eye out on his mpgs.
  23. These are things I noticed after the hatch update. So I am not sure if they tweaked anything along with the hatch update. I also figured they retrieved info from my car also. I am enjoying the changes tho!
  24. I got the hatch update and noticed right away my mpg improved. When taking off from the red light I stay in EV mode much longer. I also noticed I flip to EV much easier when battery is full. I don't have to feather the gas to force it into EV. My steering is not so loose. I am thrilled. Oh! And the hatch opens and closes with one kick. My radio will sometimes be on AM when I start the car.
