  1. Can the Ford remoste start system be installed on our cars after they have been built? The aftermarket alarm+remote-start installed by the dealer's comtractor bricked our cruise control and threw a CEL (wrench). We are thinking of having them downgrade to only the remote start.
  2. We've got 11 fill ups on ours so far. After the alarm install tomorrow, and if everything gets installed fine, we'll set an appointment to get the 3.5.1 update. We'll drive on that for a while then get the FE update once other people guinea pig it :D
  3. I would like to have the windows automatically roll up if the rain sensor gets tripped while the car is off and parked. Monsoon season can bring pretty unpredictable rain showers.
  4. Thanks, I was just curious. alarm guy is finishing install tomorrow. Good thing, because my alarm went off at 75mph this morning.
  5. The DTC lookup on the Ford ETIS website didn't have either one of those DTC codes when I checked.
  6. I did an extended test drive when I got my CMax. Unfortunately, they only loaned it to me for an hour. They didn't want me to do my normal 3 hour round trip drive to work/home. I guess it's foolish to assume that you'd get something resembling what was advertised?
  7. I thought we were having a pretty good discussion?
  8. Sorry, you didn't post what your normal day consisted of. How many people that buy cars have a similar driving pattern to that of a typical test drive?
  9. Well, they probably do but they are for internal (Ford) use only. Probably runs quickly on their fancy simulation computers.
  10. The normal test drive around the block is good enough to simulate daily driving conditions? You must not drive very far every day :runaway:
  11. It's a real shame too. If Ford would have "estimated" the FE closer to what people have been getting in everyday life, there would be no lawsuit and no egg to clean off. In fact, I think people prefer to find out the thing they just bought is more capable than advertised, rather than the opposite. The CMax has a lot if good features that I think would allow it to compete competitively against the Prius. "Estimate" low, but have a campaign showing what's possible with it. Starting your hybrid campaign witha brand new car here with a lawsuit about how your hybrid sucks (along with independent testers saying the same) isn't very good PR strategy.
  12. All the more reason to game. What are the chances that Ford spent millions on developing this car only to just throw it in the test and call it good? None. Ford definitely knew what they were doing when putting this car in the test.
  13. Because the test has standard components doesn't mean that the test can't be gamed.
  14. yes! I wish that I could afford the X that's coming out. It looks amazingly sweet. Also, wish I had a garage to put it in and charge.
  15. People drive so fast and crazy there, it's incredible there aren't more serious accidents. I'm hoping these changes help those of us who travel at higher speeds (I drive to Sierra Vista from Tucson every day). I fully agree. Me and the wife were discussing this and decided that if Ford had went with more of a 'real world' number (~40ish) then there wouldn't be any backlash at all. If anything, it would be better publicity for drivers to say, "Damn, I'm getting 46mpg when it's only rated at 42mpg!"
  16. I didn't see this posted yet, but ford is releasing an update to the hybrid platform that's supposed to tweak a bunch of things and increase the FE. One of the notable changes is use of full EV mode up to 85 mph. I'm particularly stoked about the possibility of getting better HWY mpgs. Link to article and press release.
  17. Both of my previous two cars hit the EPA mileage pretty much on the money.
  18. Because we are not all as wise as Yogi salsaguy. Unfortunately, some of us think that you should get what's advertised.
  19. Sorry, was a bit slow! :runaway: We had a fancy, heat-blocking tint installed on our Mazda 3 and it made a world of difference (the car had weak AC). Our Max is tinted and it helps, but not sure that it makes that significant of a difference.
  20. I live an hour and a half away from my job. I drive to work and the ole lady drives home. From July 11, 2012 to December 4, 2012, we drove 16,039 miles in our Mazda 3 (28 mpg) until it got totalled. From December 11 to June 15, 2013 we drove 22,672 miles in our Subaru Impreza (25.6 mpg) until we got rid of it (crappy car). From June 19, 2013 to July 10, 2013, we drove 2,821 miles in our C-Max (35.8 mpg) Grand total: 41,532 miles. I expect us to take a road trip/vacation this year, too. With the amount of driving we do, I'm expecting to save about $100+ per month on our fuel cost. Of course, that offsets part of our extra car payment but it's still nice. Any extra mpg's we can squeeze out of this baby at higher speeds is going to be nice.
  21. This is refreshing. We have about 5,900 on ours right now. We'll be putting approximately 45,000 a year on ours so every mpg helps! :happy feet:
