  1. I have two more questions on how the Ford OEM remote start system works; I'm curious to see if it is how my aftermarket unit is behaving. It really pisses me off that scenario 1 happens. Scenario 1 1. Turn off vehicle and close all doors 2. Lock the vehicle using the C-Max key fob (or remote start key fob) 3. Open car by walking up to it and grabbing door handle 4. Alarm sounds Scenario 2 1. Unlock car by grabbing door handle 2. Open driver and driver rear door 3. Remote start the car with the doors open 4. Close rear door, and get in driver seat, close front door 5. Car does not shut off 6. Put car into Reverse and start driving 7. Car shuts off
  2. That app looks awesome!! Too bad I'm on an iDevice. Honestly, I can't stand Fuelly.
  3. Firstly, thanks for the link to forecast.io; it looks awesome as crap. Secondly, I'm not smart enough to do those other things :D
  4. Yeah, my commute is about 80 miles, one way. Roughly half is interstate (75mph) and the other half is 65-. We so usually have the AC on, but it doesn't run full blast the whole way. I'm only 2 tanks into the post update period, but it won't take long for me to get a larger sample set. I'm curious to see if the total volume of fuel used changed significantly. I track mileage and all the parameters from the Trip screen.
  5. I haven't named my C-Max yet, but my other truck's (88 Comanche) name is highly variable ... depending on if it's running or not!!
  6. Next time you're there, there is a missile museum on Post. You don't need anything special to get on, and the museum is kick ass.
  7. I regularly get about 33mpg on my drive to work. Today, I managed to get a solid 31.5 on a short road trip we took (Tucson, AZ to Patagonia, AZ). Both of the above values are for one-way trips. The way back averages 40-44mpg.
  8. Since the hybrid is more sensitive to changes, then they doubly should have tested it instead of relying on data from a car that's physically different.
  9. You're pretty much out of your mind if you think that Ford didn't perform the tests on this car, or have tons of data from real-life driving.
  10. Oh, well it's a good thing everyone already knows everything about the different car technologies.
  11. Agreed. Figures I'd get this car right at the end of it's current model production year. lol
  12. I'm 6 years into my Environmental Consulting career; I'm no engineer though. While Ford technically did nothing wrong, Ford still should have ran the EPA testing on the CMax instead of relying on numbers from the Energi.
  13. I think there will be minor body modifications in the front for the MY14 cars. I doubt it'll be plug and play with ours.
  14. I think that Sync leaves a lot to be desired. Also, are the a-pillar molding the black moldings on the outside that make noise if you push on them? Also just realized that Ford is probably planning on doing some slight body modifications. This means that things like new headlamps, etc probably won't interchange. That's a huge drag.
  15. Speeding over most speed limits is still well under 70mph for most people. Also, I drive about 90 miles of 75mph interstate a day. Here in the west, you can literally drive for hours without passing civilization. My 2008 Mazda3 and my 2011 Subaru Impreza were almost dead on for the highway FE as stated by the EPA.
  16. I hope that the new body changes (deflectors, etc) will be installable on the 2013 CMax. Lord knows I need all the help I can get.
  17. Wow, I'm actually surprised they are doing this. I'm glad that they are. I think 40/45/43 is much more realistic.
  18. My EcoCruise was still set to ON and my update took.
  19. At what point did you install the gas pods?
  20. I just got the update done. Tomorrow will be my first commute to work (~160 mile round trip). I already have 20 fill ups for 6335 miles. I hope that's a good enough baseline. edit: I was in a 2013 Altima with PureDrive for the past two days. The dash registered me at 34mpg on my way to work and 44mpg on my way home. This is comparable to what the CMax shows for the same route and same speed.`
