Announcing Advance Notice 14C03 Compliance Recall
ptjones replied to Bill-N's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
In my case the Dealer had me setup an appointment and they had already had the parts, it took probably half a day but keep over nite because they got late start. They don't do loaners, but I got new F150 to test drive over nite. LOL :) Paul -
hybridbear "The Energi hump is not that large & still leaves a lot of cargo room." For some of us the space in the back is barely enough and would not been able to take some equipment with the bump in the back. I don't know what the weight limitation is for stacking heavy boxes on top of the HVB is. Frankly I wish they would come out with the Grand CMAX with a bigger HVB. :) Paul

I thought I would post this to show what can be done when things workout just right. About 80% SOC from work to home. :happy feet: Paul

I have a bike rack on the back of my car and their are others with hitches too. Not as much of a earo drag. :) Paul

If you get a new one with SEL package you should be good shape looking at the survey. It is really nice roomy car with great MPG's. :) Paul

Well I stretched it today and didn't run out of gas. Actual 14.078gal., 714.5mi., 51mpg and went 40miles passed 0 miles to empty. :) Paul

Clear Silicon rubber, you will be able to take it off if you need too. :) Paul

Thanks, unfortunately I wasn't thinking that way. The few people I have talked to wanted my # if they wanted to ask me questions later. I haven't had any calls, hopefully they did get on the forum, how knows. :) Paul

You could go with that, but unfortunately that is not all true. Hybrid will go as fast as Energi 85mph (86mph in my case) and I don't know where you got the extra 30HP. The deal breaker on the Energi for me was the big bump in the back(HVB). To me the Energi only makes sense if you can use the battery most of the time, not for trips. IMO :) Paul

Yes, you should be able to go 40miles past 0miles to empty! :) Just got my second 700mile tank this year and it could have been third if I hadn't had to fullup to go on trip. :happy feet: :) Paul

Any time they do warranty work FORD gets a copy(service receipt) and then it is a permanent recorded that will show up at any FORD Dealership. This is important if any claims are to be made and FORD knows there is a problem they need to figure out. :) Paul
-
What happened the other times? Did you try to jumping or charging the battery? :) Paul
-
I didn't say jumper battery would solve your problem, just "Pretty Much solve (your immediate ) battery problem. The batteries aren't defective just ruined by being drained down so low that it damages them, so they have to be replaced. " Would you jump out of an airplane with a parachute that would "pretty much" open? What does that have to do with starting your car? Having a jumper battery could have you on your way and you can go see your Dealer when it's convenient for you, just make sure they write a warranty ticket every time you go in. For FORD to solve these issues people do need to let FORD know they have a problem. :) Paul

It is amazing that a simple solution as a jumper battery will pretty much solve "battery problem"( there is nothing wrong with the battery) while Ford figures out all the possibilities for the battery getting drained. I guess some people would rather complain than solve the problem themselves. The CMAX is a GREAT CAR and I haven't any "battery problems" IMHO :) Paul

I'm confused, You say you're without a car, but you have had this happen a number of times now, don't you have a jumper battery to cover you when this happens, I sure would. IMHO Having a dead battery should only be a minor 5min. inconvenience of opening the hood and connect jumper battery cables, just about anyone can do this. Jumper battery goes for around $50-$60.Then you can go to the Dealer when it is convenient for you. :)

Short distances with A/C on will put you in the 30'smpg. :) Paul

Finally got my act together( sort of LOL) thanks to Frank. Here are pics of new mods. Wheel well covers and hard foam spoiler with Velcro attaching to under cover. :) Paul
