  1. It sure looked like those tires were going to rub to me when turning. Let us know how they work out. :) Paul
  2. I have 172k with the original K&N air filter in it, it is a big job to replace it. I have a new FORD one I could put in it. My oil analyse is great and I used 1/2 quart in 13k ICE miles. Paul
  3. Sad, but I have to agree with you on this. I would imagine in a year or two there will be trans shops that will do this for $2500-3000. It's hard to give up on a car that you like so much. Paul
  4. Seems like a lot of work going back an forth. Paul
  5. It would be nice if you could remove license bracket and mount License plate on center Grill Cover and put screws on the ends, make it permanent. :) Paul
  6. That's great, and so that others know I keep MADMAX in the garage at night too, but I use my oil pan heater in the morning all year around to improve MPG's. The less gas you use to get up to 202*F better your mpg's will be. :) Paul
  7. I was on a business trip last week and Winter has hit the Northeast with temps down to freezing. I filled up in Shippensburgh, PA elev. 686 ft, temp 35*F and drove to Philadelphia about 150 miles, elev. 125 ft and 65*F. I started out with 33 mpg and worked it's way up to 50.1 mpg when I got there. Just another example of how well these Mods work during cold weather. :) Paul
  8. djc, Did you look at my Winter driving MPG tips? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/5511-how-to-improve-winter-mpgs?:) You can easily add an oil pan heater. Paul
  9. Just got back from trip to PA and NY and back, about 2,500 miles. Temps ranged from 75-33*F and still averaged about 51 mpg for the trip. Also my Life Time went up to 49.3mpg, Fuelly.com to 48.3mpg and 170k mi. now. :) YouTube video views are up to 3400 now and here's the link if you missed it: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/:) Paul

    From the album: 2013 C-Max

    Life Time 10/20/17 49.3 mpg
  11. When I hit zero I look at my trip gauge to see how many miles I have and then compute from there. I have gone 60 miles on empty and I have run out before 30 miles. :headscratch: Paul
  12. Dealers can make a Big Difference! Awhile back I think someone posted a list of things covered be Hybrid Warranty and there should be a warranty pamphlet in with your Owners Manual that list them. That seems like a lot of money to me. Good Luck. :) Paul
  13. How many miles do you have on the car. Bottom line is whether or not it is a Hybrid System problem or not. :headscratch: Hybrid System warranty is 8yrs/100k mi. Is your FORD Dealer a Electric dealer? You might update your CMAX info. :) Paul
  14. With 167k mi. on my 2013 I have never had this done. Does this cost anything? I think this could be done when replacing the air filter and you could you it yourself. Replacing the air filter is a hard/ hand scratching job so use protection for your hands, there is tugging involved and aligning holes too. Paul
  15. a work around would be to connect a switch to the Lights Fuse. :) Paul
  16. This why it is a good idea to be on this forum so you can get answers to your questions. :) Paul
  17. Sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Do what you got to do. :) Paul
  18. Do you have a CMAX? And what year is it.? :headscratch: Paul
  19. I thought would remind members what can be done to minimize the loss of MPG's during the up coming cold weather months that some are already experiencing. You can go to Post #2 to for all the info. :) Paul
  20. I will guaranty that it would kill your MPG's. :lol2: Paul
  21. No I didn't. :) It would be nice if FORD would supply an aerodynamic wheel cover that is easy to remove, these need to be cleaned periodically. :) It's worth around 2 mpg. Paul
  22. marlidog you need to look at my How to get great gas mileage thread YouTube videos, it covers everything you need to know pretty much. :) Paul
  23. Made another trip into Atlanta and back on I-85/I-285 about 80 miles with A/C running about 1/3rd of the time and averaged 57.8 mpg which included about 10 miles of City driving. :) YouTube views up to 3200 now. :) Paul
  24. Motor is the 2 electric motors and engine is the ICE. :) Paul
