  1. It seems to be a delicate (mechanical) balancing act of using the battery energy, and then the ICE/braking raising the level in the battery. I did an 80 mi. mainly freeway Eco Cruise trip the other day, and got a nice 40.x mpg. I guess it's a matter of trusting the car!

    Gas

CassidyB, you've already had an oil change? What was your mileage?
  3. I may be chunky, but I think my Gray boy is sleek!
  4. During a couple warmer days here I used the AC, and while driving in EV, the ICE didn't kick in at all. Wondering if it's just the heater than draws on the ICE.
  5. According to the manual (P. 73): Smart Unlocks for Intelligent Access Keys (If Equipped) This feature helps to prevent you from unintentionally locking your intelligent access key inside your vehicle’s passenger compartment or rear cargo area. When you lock your vehicle using the power door lock control (with the door open, vehicle in park and ignition off), after you close the door the vehicle will search for an intelligent access key in the passenger compartment. If an intelligent access key is found inside the vehicle, all of the doors will immediately unlock and the horn will chirp, indicating that the intelligent access key is inside. In order to override the smart unlock feature and intentionally lock the intelligent access key inside the vehicle, you can lock your vehicle after all doors are closed by pressing the lock button on another intelligent access key or touching the locking area on the handle with another intelligent access key in your hand. When you open one of the front doors and lock the vehicle using the power door lock control, all doors will lock then unlock if: • the ignition is on, or • the ignition is off and the vehicle is not in P.
  6. My overall MPG (reset at 1000 mi) has remained pretty steady at 40.3, but has started going up to .5 and .6. I figure I'll reset it again at 2000 mi to get a better current average. BTW Bob, how are things in Malvern? I lived not too far from there, on the mainline years ago (Villanova grad). Enjoyed my time in Philly.
  7. Rums, there are a lot of different sub-forums that might work better for you, but I think Lounge is a good place to start. I think most people hit all the forums anyway, so your post will be seen! Keyless entry: not sure, but I've seen it as an option on the Ford Accessory site. Sorry, no memory positions for seat, mirror, etc, and no adjustable pedals. But personally, with the telescoping and tilting steering wheel, and electric seat, I have no problem with the pedals. When i got my car, it seems that the battery had been charged, but even if it's not charged all the way, it doesn't take much time for it to charge, between breaking and ICE usage. It's a balance between the two. Enjoy the anticipation of waiting for your car! And please feel free to ask away in this forum! Also, you might "search" on terms that are of interest to you -- a lot of areas have been covered in the last few months! If not, Jus-a-Cmax will be there with an answer! :hysterical:
  8. The higher seat was ONE of the key things that decided me in getting the car. I tend to sit low (look like a little old man barely able to see over the steering wheel, and I'm not that old :) ), so sitting up higher is a real plus! The large windshield was an added plus.
  9. But at least you have all of us to console you, Rachel!
  10. This happened to me once a couple months ago, but no dead battery followed.
  11. :salute: How about this one when you got to your destination? Glad you made it there safely!
  12. I guess I'm ahead of my time! Maybe some of us in CA could get together for a Sunday afternoon of arts & crafts, creating festive "clothing" for the various parts of our cars!
  13. Congratulations, Tom. Hope the honeymoon lasts a long time. Mine has!
  14. Ziggy, not sure if the energi is like the hybrid, but the handle that opens the hood latch (near the driver door, knee high or so) isn't electric. A pull on the handle should open the hood. Before you have it jumped, you might read the dead battery experience of others on this forum (quite a few). It has been suggested that instead of having it jumped, you should have it towed by the Ford road service to your dealer, so that they can see the problem. When jumped, the technicians don't seem to be able to recreate the problem.
  15. Well, it's about time, Rachel! We can't have the chairwoman of the site's Welcome Wagon trudging along in an old Tahoe! Happy for you. Your patience will be paying off soon!
  16. I bet Pinterest has something on knitting a cover for the steering wheel.

    Hi from Spokane

Guess he was worth all the sacrifice.
  18. No option in Sync at this point. Will there be? Who knows.
  19. Growing up, we used to buy all our cars at Pearson Ford ("they stand alone at Fairmont and El Cajon"). Our neighbor was a salesman there.
  20. Both sites have a great wealth of info for both models. BTW Valkraider, I almost sh*t when I saw your signature mileage -- until I realized it was an Energi! :hysterical: **Me being jealous**
