  1. I'm glad you've been listening to all my great advice, Sparky. ;)
  2. Valk, don't stay away too long. We'd miss your insights!
  3. :wub2: it! Rachel, you are too funny. LA humor, or is it all you?
  4. Hail the Queen of Posts! Keep up the prolific verbiage!
  5. Didn't she post somewhere that she was going to be on a trip for awhile (without her C-Max)? Or maybe she's under a snowdrift! :)
  6. This brings up another question regarding the fuelly badge. When you hover over the badge of some posters like Zhackwyatt's), you are able to click to be linked to their fuelly page; with others, not (like mine). Can someone tell me how to get the badge to link to the fuelly page?
  7. Snow, welcome to the forum. There is a lot of info on the different threads, if you haven't read them yet, and people are very open to answering questions/sharing our experiences with the C-Max. Enjoy the anticipation!
  8. Low humidity now in LA?
  9. I'm more surprised by the price of her gas! Not low enough to tempt me to move out of CA, but I'm jealous!
  10. If you push the stalk up one notch, to the intermittant (auto/rain sensitive) wipe, the lights won't come on (even if set to do so). It's only when you push the stalk up two notches to normal wipe, or 3 notches to high-speed wipe, that the lights will come on. One thing I'm not sure of, and haven't tested, is if the rear lights come on as well when it rains (I keep my lights on "Auto", so the headlights are on all the time when driving).
  11. Those HOV lane permits were time limited. (And they had to have those ugly stickers on the bumper -- don't know if it was worth it. :)
  12. I remember that this was a great Jenny Craig tip. Every step counts!
  13. Jus, I just noticed that you are also in the 600+ postings club! :worship: Something for all of us to aspire to! Thanks for sharing so much of your experience and ideas -- and humor! (One more posting for me: I'm getting there!).
  14. To reiterate, the auto/intermittant-wipers, when turned on, will wipe when the sensor "feels" dampness/rain. They are not like the "normal" intermittant wipers that most of us are used to. Regarding the lights coming on automatically when the wipers come on: when in Irvine, I found out that they do NOT come on with the intermittant/auto wipers, but do come on (if set to do so) when the wipers are set to slow or high. It may take a few moments for them to come on after the wipers start.
  15. Flash from the past! Thanks for the memories.
  16. It took me nine trips back to home for my home EV+ to come on, and maybe 2 weeks for the work EV+. You reminded me of something one of the engineers at Irvine told me about EV+. You can get it to recognize a frequent destination by starting/stopping the car several times (I think he said 10/11 times), waiting 30 seconds or so between each on/off cycle. I haven't tried this, since my EV+ already set itself at home and work.
  17. For those of us who have seen the "infolink.com" underlined links, here is an article I found on how to turn them off in Internet Explorer. I tried it, and it seems to work. Step by step: 1) Open the IE options. This can be done by using the Tools menu within IE and selecting "Internet Options", by right-clicking on the IE icon on your desktop or Start menu and selecting "Internet Options", or by launching "Internet Options" from inside the Windows Control Panel. 2) From the IE Options window, select the Security tab 3) From within the security tab, click on the "Restricted sites" icon and then click the [sites] button right below it. 4) A list box window will pop up. In the "Add this website to the zone:" filed type in "*.infolinks.com" then click the [Add] button.
  18. Nick, have you checked out the Energi forum (probably more Energi drivers)?
  19. "As far as getting your personal MPG higher, put it in eco-cruise whenever possible. Leave the HVAC off if it isn't too hot outside-- today it was 81 and not only did I put on the HVAC, but the AC as well--buh bye MPG." I did the same, SBGrad, going from Mission Valley to Lemon Grove, a 9 mi. trip. I actually got better mpg than usual (I travel this route everyday), no drag from the AC.
  20. Retired1, my dealer was pretty knowledgable about the C-Max, as well as Sync, so what she told me was accurate. Other members on this forum have not had the same experience with their dealers. One of the threads deals with this issue. At any rate, you have a lot of people on this site willing and able to share their knowledge and experience with the C-Max, and willing to be truthful. We're not here to sell cars! ;)
  21. Question: what is "Deep Impact"?

Hey Dennis, what they said! The C-Max isn't going to be for everyone. Get to know what kind of car it is via this forum and test drive, and see if it matches your needs/desires. Even though the people active on this forum REALLY like their C-Maxes, we are also aware of it's lacks, and are willing to share that info. Welcome to the forum.
  23. Oh,so YOU'RE the one taking up those duo spaces! :)
  24. Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of helpful information here to get you ready for your B-day (ie, buy day). We're all learning together. Enjoy the anticipation until you get your new C-Max.
