I had a conversation with a Pruis-V owner who approached me the other day while I was getting into Maxus. He asked me how I liked my CMax, I told him I loved it and would buy another for my wife if I could afford another car payment. He said he looked at the CMax but was not impressed with the cargo room so decided to get the Pruis-V since it has more cargo carrying space. Is this true or is he just making himself feel better because get bought the wrong car?

Well with all these posts in this thread, I have to say I'm right in there too these days. Having trouble staying in the 37mpg range right now. I'm sure of two things it is my need for having the A/C on most of the time since I'm hot by nature, being overweight I guess? Also I don't practice very well the gas and coast concept once I reach the set speed limit . Weird because this time last summer I was racking mid to high 40's pretty consistently. Maybe tire pressure is playing into this some since I think I have a tire which leaks down over a period of time. Could be better for Maxus right now.

What the frack? It's cracked.

You have got to be kidding, $400 for that little window? Ford is nuts. Makes me wonder what the cost is for the rear window? Was considering getting a new rear window (even though I don't need it) so I could get the rear window air deflectors now that I found out that is the only way to get them. -
Thanks Paul I'll give it a try.

Took my dealer license frames off on day one. They are ugly and hide portions of my personalized license plates. No advertising from Maxus. :)

Last week I was driving along and suddenly the plastic cover which fills in between the rear view mirror and the headliner covering wires leading to the mirror just fell off. It had been loose to the touch since day one. I'm not sure how it goes back on or what it will take to get it to stay in place once I get it back on. Anyone else have a problem with this?

No offense to anyone who has done this or is considering it. But I still struggle with why anyone would want to alter the smooth lines that Ford put into the CMax by putting a luggage or cargo racks on the roof. I'm staying with the stock lines.

2014 tire Aero Dams available from FORD

Got my front Air Dams Thursday, just need to find some mounting clips for it to the undercarriage. Then I'll look into creating an air dam to go across the width of the front end like Paul did. -
Maxus has 2014 Rear Window Air Deflector
mtb9153 replied to mtb9153's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Update on the search for 2014 rear window air deflectors. I asked one of the parts guys at Frontier Ford to try one more time to locate these elusive parts. He called me this morning and said he spoke with someone at Ford who's in the know it seems. The air deflectors are part of the rear glass assembly and only available as part of a complete rear glass replacement, which is very pricy as you can imagine. So it looks like I will be trying to produce my own like the ones shown earlier in this thread. Not the final answer many of us who want these wanted to hear. :banghead: -
Have a great 4th Ashley, just don't blow yourself up in the process of enjoying the fun. ;)

Double-DIN dash kit is here?

Very interesting but not for me right now. The Pioneer unit is very nice however very expensive and not in my foreseeable future. -
Awesome wish I could duplicate it. Right now I'm struggling to just stay at 40.0 dropping from 43.5

2014 tire Aero Dams available from FORD

So they are different? I wonder why they aren't listed on fordparts.com? Or the rear window deflectors as well? If we can find them I'll buy them for sure. Hoping my front air dams will arrive soon to Frontier Ford. -
Guess that idea is in the the toilet. I was liking the 2012 Mustang wheel, forget that too big and wrong offset

Come to think of it when I saw a 2014 the front and rear tire air dams did look the same. This would make sense why we can't find the rears P/N. I'm going to stop by my dealer soon and take a closer look at a 2014. -
Not a good thing, forget that idea thanks for the input fbov

Has anybody investigated whether the 5 spoke Mustang wheels (Roush or Shelby) will work on a CMax? I like the wheel but I'm thinking it would mean switching to a larger diameter wheel which I don't what to do.

I went on FordEtis and found these updates listed. Anybody else need these or had them done? Before I take Maxus in I just thought I'd check around. Ok Paul your trip and numbers inspired me. I went on fordparts.com and ordered the front tire air dams. I just hope I'm getting a matched pair since there is only one part number listed and the diagram shows the same for both RH and LH. I paid the $35.63 x 2. Hopefully when they arrive at Frontier Ford Parts I can get them discounted with my dealer Salesman discount which was extended to me by my salesperson. Did I understand that you mounted yours using some plastic clips from autozone? -

Paul what is meant by partial rear wheel well covers? I don't follow you on that statement. BTW very impressive numbers both directions. I'd be happy if I could just stay in the 40's right now. Today I slipped down to 41.2 all the way from 44.0 about a month ago. -

What made you choose the dealership you did?
mtb9153 replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
I chose Frontier Ford in Santa Clara, Ca. because my family has had great service from them since 1989. My family has owned a total of 6 fords from them during that period. They treat us like family and the manager that I bought Maxus from gives me his discount on all parts through the parts department :happy feet: -
This is all interesting conversation here. One more thing which I will throw in. I think this cancellation system might be playing tricks on my hearing aids cancellation feature. Because at times while driving at the 35-45 speed range, I hear an audible increase in white noise which builds up to a point and backs down to a quieter level. Almost sounds like the static sound you hear if tuned in between stations on your TV set where there's no picture, only snow. Now I'm showing my age since that doesn't really happen anymore with the age of digital electronics :drop:
