  1. I think it doesn't make sense to buy the lesser model and then spend all the time and engeri making it into the more expensive SEL, but thats just my opinion.
  2. If it was Platinum White I guarantee the new paint would not have matched....Not if it is done right and by a decent shop. You get what you pay for.
  3. Love my tri-coat well worth the extra cost
  4. I have to say I do prefer my Platinum White much better, but that's just my opinion
  5. Bro Jus here is a screen capture from the road trip to my video gig on Saturday.
  6. not sure that would fly with the insurance companies? Seems logical if technology works the way it should by locating the CMax by satellites.
  7. Paul would that be the blower fan which cools the HV battery unit? Seems like it would have an audible sound when running?
  8. Nice work Shinytop it can be done even though CR says it can't which makes it even sweeter
  9. We are hovering near 95 degrees the last couple days, A/C is a must.
  10. what are the two raised squares near the seat backs for? Curious.
  11. Found mine laying on the front porch door mat last evening. $475 bucks, wish I could spend it on my wants but not to be cuz the wife has other plans since I blew the first check Ford so graciously sent.
  12. I don't know how you do it Brother Jus but I'm jealous :worship: of your mastery of the asphalt jungle. Oh yes the mpg was the same pretty much both directions, there was some loss due to the climb up Sunol grade on the route home. Today I'm taking the same route to and from the video gig for better control of my usage. I will try to remember to take a screen shot at either end.
  13. Took a road trip yesterday from the south bay up freeway 880 north to Oakland, then on to Crockett California to research a video gig I'm shooting on Saturday. One way total miles with A/C running was 73miles over freeway with slight increases in elevation once near my destination. Checked the gauges after shutting off the ignition, said 43mpg with 1.2 gallons of fuel used. I can live with that after driving for more than an hour. Then heading back home I went another route which took me on a twisty two lane country road the first 10 miles or so through the east bay hills towards Concord and Pleasant Hill. Stopped at Fuddrukers Famous Burgers for lunch :love_shower: after lunch headed south on 680 to San Jose using a slightly longer route since I wanted to avoid the traffic near the approach to the Oakland Bay Bridge since it was time for the early commuter traffic out of San Francisco. Of course this route means I have to climb the long Sunol grade back over the hills into the Sillycorn Valley. Which was a good test maintaining my AvgMPG up the grade with A/C running. Got back home turned off the ignition and to my amazement I pulled out another 1.2 gallon fuel usage. :victory: So we'll see what happens tomorrow when I head up there again for the Video shoot.
  14. I didn't change any settings from the way they have always been. I didn't even know they could be changed
  15. I have a new issue with Maxus. When I go into reverse the MFT screen shows the rear view but there is no directional colored lines to assist with backing. When I turn the wheel there is only the camera view. I do get color bars as I backup and proximity alert is beeping to indicate close objects. Anybody else have anything like this happen?

Nice hat ScubaDadMiami, I have two just like it. Great for keeping the sun out of your eyes and off your neck.

very nice usage of the cargo area with just enough room to see through the rear view mirror...maybe?
  18. Paul I've been hearing a buzzing sound but I think it is from the front while sitting in the driveway turned on with the A/C on. I assume it is the electric compressor?
  19. HUD display? I've never heard of that being available on CMax? HUD in my world means the dashboard gauges i.e. the speedometer is displayed in front of you on the windshield. Is that what you are referring to?

    Carbon wrapped trim

Now this I have to have, I love CF. How hard is it to apply to the trim pieces?

Love those wheels, what are they? Size? Totally stealthy looking ride
  22. Thanks everyone for your input. I never compared the "V" before buying Maxus. I bought her solely on first sight after she was unloaded from the truck and my like for the Ford mark. Wanted a hybrid and it had to be American, simple decision. Volt was a consideration for a bit but with my family history through previous cars brought from Frontier Ford the choice was simple. Plus the day I first saw Maxus another buyer came by to check her out and sit behind the wheel and in the back seat while playing with the interior, He clearly sent allot of time with the "V" and he said the CMax was clearly a much better car, both certainly in power and creature comforts. He said the V is cheap and plastic and rough riding over the CMax..."SOLD" I told him quickly this CMAx was mine since I already told my salesman I wanted it once it came in.
  23. Good thoughts brother Jus. We didn't get into why he felt the Prius had more room he seemed little standoffish as he approached me so I didn't want get heavy with him as to what his reasoning was or mine. So was a short conversation with just talking that he liked the room better in the "V"
