Houston! my birth place, well actually Pasadena which was gobbled up by Houston since 1953. Glad you didn't get hit by the RR arm, could have been very bad.

Matt you are one amazing creator of amazing stuff. Also obviously a very cool machine shop or access to one. I'm very enveyous.

Hi below are some close-up shots I took with my iPhone. Hopefully this will aid you in doing this yourself. I'm not sure what wire I tapped into but looking in the fusebox standing from the left front fender I took a spaded lug and jammed it into the fourth wire from the bottom left corner. It appears to be a light gray wire with a light blue stripe. I tried many different wires before finding this one which turns on the ribbon DLR's as well as my Hella 8 LED lights when the doors open. They stay on approximately 5 or 6 seconds then go out. Once I'm in the car and push the start button they all come on and stay on until the ignition is turned off. They also stay on when it gets dark enough to illuminate the factory headlights. I'm quite happy with this setup. I wish you good luck in your project, let me know how it all ends up? I'd be interested. Certainly ask me any other questions you might have?

Who needs a radar detector? I never speed, it wastes too much gas. Speeding defeats buying a hybrid. -
Under $3? geez we haven't been under $3 in years. Well this is California what do I expect??? Prices have gone over $5 for awhile

I find the best results for us is when we input through the touch screen and give the phone number or zip code (if known) then the whole process of setting the NAV is pretty painless. But if I try verbally inputting the info for my destination, I usually just get pissed and curse the damn thing. It never understands.

Pandora showing title and artist
mtb9153 replied to mlaurence's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
When I play music on Spotify through my iPhone 5 while connected through the USB connector down inside the center console. My music selection is displayed on the right center dash screen as well as on the MFT lower left screen but there is no album art info, which is fine with me. -
That just isn't right, I can't believe how inconsiderate some people can be. Totally inexcusable to hit someone and run. Especially if they left no contact info? I backed into a car once at a shopping area and of course tried to locate the owner. After no success left a note as any responsible person should. And we settled out of insurance. Case closed. Very sorry, hope the wife is doing well?

The aero mods begin (Now working on Diffuser) !!!
mtb9153 replied to Recumpence's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Matt what is that black material you are placing in the original grille openings? I must say you are very creative and industrious with your mods. I sort of like that stealthy look, but not too keen about mounting a bunch of screws and brackets to secure the grille blocks. Sorry I see in earlier posts you pretty much answered my questions. -
Can Navigation be added after purchase?
mtb9153 replied to tehuti's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Ya you should have got it at the purchase but know it might not have seemed important at the time. Fore sight isn't always possible. It would be way more expensive to do it after the fact if possible at all. ;) -

Was wondering how difficult is it to remove the black plastic pieces below each fog light in the front bumper? What holds them on beyond the obvious round plastic plug which has fallen off the one on the drivers side and the button head phillips screw in the wheel well facing towards the front tire. -
I for one would not like that wispy wind sound as heard in that video. Sounds like the noise that came from my front wheels when my disk caliper cover was rubbing against the wheel before the retrofit from MGP was installed.

Very interesting, I would come down to LA for this when it happens. We could get a special deal going for CMax owners if enough were involved. Or other EV owners involved. I haven't been to a race in SoCal since the closure of Riverside Raceway which was a huge mistake in my opinion. Used to love coming down for the Times sponsored 6- hour enduro and the I.R.O.C series which was run there. I think this E-series race would do well on the same course as the Long Beach indy cars run on. Or even up here at either Sears Point or Laguna Seca, which have become premier road courses.

Here are some closer shots...

Not aware of what this is about? I assuming racing electric cars? Sounds interesting, I'd come down from NorCal if it is? Need more data...

Suggested tips for cold weather driving?
mtb9153 replied to ERPriest's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Don't mean to rub it in but we're partying on the west coast near 80degree's today by mid day. Don't have ICE temp issues, but if we don't get some decent rain this winter we are screwed next summer. -
s it just me or allot of vehicles being involved in accidents since Jus? Makes me not want to take Maxus out of the garage.
-
Yah I'd be looking for an unbiased outside 3rd party's opinion so you don't get taken to the cleaners. Good luck keep us posted

Hummmm In CA? Guess I'll find out? The LEDs under the headlights is no more than any new Euro style car comes with new from the factory, including the Tesla made right here in my own SillyCorn Valley.
-
Here are pics of the 24inch long adhesive backed white LED's I've added underneath the stock headlights. Combining these with the Hella DRL's I added earlier, make Maxus very visible day or night. They are wired to be on with or without the headlights. Also they come on when the doors open and time out after a few seconds turning off.

Looks great, the black pods blends well with the black trim in the roof and the antenna. I assume yours are magnetic? My black ones (which I'm not using) are adhesive model. My magnetic ones are painted plantinum white to match the car. Love them and great for added looks. Not to mention the functionality.

Scan Gauge II for only $109 with free shipping!
mtb9153 replied to fotomoto's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Was going to get one of them but just don't care for the jagged edges of the numbers and text. Looks cheap. Why didn't they use a smooth font in the LCD display? Just me being picky I know. -
mistakenly drove my Maxus up and over a highway center lane with raise concrete curbs. Drove right up on one side and over on the other. Sure it scraped the crap out of my undercarriage. Probably tore up that black fabric Ford draped the front end with for aerodynamics.
