Someday guys Maxus with make the trip south ;)
-
Well like the subject says something new happened for Maxus today. Fortunately I wasn't going very fast so didn't have any cargo fall out. But I didn't even notice it was open since there isn't any exhaust fumes until I noticed it getting cooler inside since we had a brisk morning this morning with the rain we were getting. Funny thing was when I first noticed it was open was while backing up in a cul-de-sac and I noticed the image on the MFT appeared to be looking up at the sky. I thought what the heck? This was just before I noticed it was open. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that it appears the automatic door opening feature is not working. Had my hands loaded the other day and was kicking and sweeping away under the rear bumper and no opening hatch. Really need to take her in to the dealer since my list is getting long with things needing attention. Was hoping to wait until after the new year since I don't want to have it get stuck there over the last two weeks of the year.

Amen Brother Kostby :)

Smiling Jack, I'm originally from Houston where I was born many moons ago. Don't think I've heard that particular reference but I like it. Got to call the stealership since I'm way over due for my next oil change.

I have received multiple letters to make arrangements to bring Maxus in for service on safety recalls 14S21 and 14S04. I'm over due for my latest service, so I'll have to surrender Maxus to the stealership soon ;)

Kostby, yes I get lots of stares and comments and that comes with drawing attention to ones self in this manner. Mainly I do this every year because I love the season and the multi-colored lights. It is a bonus that it makes people happy and smile when they see Maxus. Plus it draws attention to CMax brand name. But mainly I do it to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Hope I'm not offending anyone by sharing that belief, but I have to give credit where it is due and I'm not afraid to say I'm a believer here or anywhere. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year. BTW I turn them on right as the sun sets behind the coastal mountains and as I drive home each night after dark. Fortunately this time of year it gets dark earlier so more time to enjoy them.

Maxus and I (Brother Mike) wish everyone a Merry Christmas

But with Plasti-dip you can always remove it and go back to stock if you want to. For me this is the biggest "Plus" or reason for choosing to use Plasti-dip

Maxus is close to setting a new record for a single tank of gas

I'd love to make it to the 700 level, but honestly I don't think it is possible. I just don't know how to improve much better than that first 600+ tank. As you see I didn't supersede it with this attempt. I need training from the master but God knows when I'll make it to the south land -

Jus I didn't realize you are only put on the list once, thats why I said add my latest tank. Sorry my mistake. Just as well this wasn't as good as my first 600+ -

Game Over guys Maxus ran out of gas 2 blocks from my house. This time was unlike the first time I ran out. This time the triangle of death came up and the screen said pull over when safe, I had half a full charge battery and as I gave some pedal to make my turn off the road I was traveling there was little power and the steering became difficult almost as if I had no power. But the battery gauge showed plenty to run on. This is very different from the first time I ran out. Well as the picture shows I just made 600miles so I now have 2, 600 mile tanks. Add me to the honor roll list. :happy feet: :camera: :yahoo: I also put it in my gallery if this is too small to see? -

For me it has become a challenge to see how many miles I can pull out of that 13.5 gallon tank. This tank I'm working on is presently up to 540 miles and the yellow warning lite just came on for the first time. Now I start watching the trip 1 gauge to see where I'm at on gallons remaining. Presently the gauge says 11.3gals used. I think I should be safe to take it down to zero with my spare 2 gallon can. Any other hypermiler taken theirs down to 13 gallons? Did you run out of gas? I've only ran Maxus dry once and I don't remember what the gallon read on trip1. I won't get far past 600 if I'm that lucky but at least it will be my second 600+ tank with under 35k on the odo. -

Thanks Wnuk I really appreciate your comment -
Ok I see what is being done here with the foam but excuse my ignorance in this mod. How do you keep from overheating the ICE if there's no fresh air flow into the radiator. This jus seems to be a weird way of gaining some MPG. I jus don't understand this whole thing. With my limited understanding it just seems Pauls tear-aways method is the best way to go.

thanks for the encouragement Brother Jus. I really needed the positive words. Maybe it's the time of the year and family memories come flooding back of wonderful family experiences during the Holidays. But lately a hole in my spirit has been building as I sit and watch my father disappear with the ravaging effects of Alzheimer's. Chances are this could be his last year with any knowledge of the joy he has brought to my life and my family these past 61 years. I miss the man I've called Dad. Sorry to get so mushy and off topic to this thread. -
I've been working really hard to squeeze out the mpg's with my current tank. My fuel guage is just slightly above a half tank and trip one is showing 290miles. This is the highest reading I've ever had for the first half of a tank. If all goes well on the second half I just might see my second 600 mile tank :happy feet:

Wonderful, there are so many things I can see myself doing and fabricating for Maxus with aluminum sheets. But I lack the use of a good industrial grade bender.

could you take some pics of this installation? I'm having trouble picturing in my mind how you make this work?

I agree fully, $36k (I paid) is nothing to laugh at. There has to be a solution to this problem and it's Ford's job to find it, so find it ASAP. The buy out lemon law option shouldn't have to be used.

I'd be curious to know how many of these battery issues are connected with CMax which have sat on the lot for awhile? My local dealer at Frontier Ford has had several 2013 cars sitting for a year or more. Also 2014's and the 2015's will be adding to that eventually. These battery's can't just sit there and not be used and recharged as needed. The dealers just aren't keeping them charged until they are sold. Glad I bought Maxus the day she came off the transport truck. Never been a problem since September 2012.
