  1. how does one do a master reset? For that matter I'm not even sure where the fuses are since I've never needed to get to them.
  2. I have two back to back warranty's and I'm at almost 34k miles since purchase in September of 2012. Once both warranties are gone I have no plan to get rid of Maxus. I just love this car despite the problems with the MFT not functioning half the time. But with no battery issues I'm not complaining.
  3. I found this product on YouTube at this link which seems promising to jump a dead battery in a small transportable package. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqQOyHTCKk0 Might be worth looking into? Although I've never had a battery issue with Maxus https://www.touchofmodern.com/sales/juno-power/juno-jumpr-blue
  4. a daily commute of 130 miles? OMG I can't imagine driving that far to and from work each day. Unbelievable.
  5. No I haven't Paul to all you mentioned. How is an pan heater installed? Does it require cutting or drill to install? Where do you get one? I've really never heard of one before this thread started.
  6. I prefer Paul's design simply because it is easily removed when needed by just tearing away. Plus it does allow for a smoother front aero surface
  7. Also in this area you stand the chance of messing with the side curtain air bag system which could go off. Also if Ford see's you have been messing with things, they might not cover under your warranty the recall for the side curtain bag problem which I still need to have done but have been delaying doing since my dealer is in the process of a facility remodeling program and things are really messed up and delaying repair times.
  8. Nice to see these .pdf CAD file 3D illustrations, I used to do this sort of work back before I got put out to pasture in the great 2007 SillyCorn Valley downsizing movement to reduce the number of 50+ year old employee's from their payroll. One word of caution before attempting to tear into this. These little beastie's have allot of electronic whiz bang gagets everywhere. It looks like there's an electronic module of some kind mounted on the passenger side of the center console. Shows a cable harness leading to it with a connector. Caution should be taken to not blow something out possible from static electricity. I bet that module is several hundred dollars to replace. Also in those illustrations the seats are removed, making this sort of tear down allot easier to get too. Back a few years when cars were much more owner friendly to work on, I would tackle just about any repair to keep my ride out of the hands of the dealer mechanics. But that is not the case anymore with all the electronic stuff in a CMax. Back when I did attempt a modification on my own to Maxus while I was looking for an electrical power source to power my after market DayLight Running Lights. I read somewhere that while I was probing around inside the electrical fuse box under the hood located in front of the drivers side. While using my battery powered volt meter to find the right power source. I read that it was possible to accidentally cause a partial air bag system deployment if a low level shock was applied to the right wire connection in the fuse box. Fortunately this did not occur. Now I rethink any self repairs or modifications and let the Ford techs muck around on their dollar. My 2 cents as an old guy who has learned a few lessons the hard way.
  9. Looks like a wonderful trip Jus, and safe to say your wifey is the master of space maximization LOL. Using every inch of cargo space in Maxine. Those tri-tips looked incredible, now I want steak for dinner  got a nice char going on those beauty's too. I have been keeping Maxus in the low to mid 46 range for the last few weeks. Suddenly 45's were easy to get and then the 46's started popping up.
  10. If there is a new A5 SD card available why isn't it automatically made available to owners. Doesn't seem right that we should have to pay for it. I have an A4 now and if there's an A5 I want it but I don't feel I should have to pay for it. Ford should make it available to owners. I will be taking Maxus in for the latest maintenance check and oil change, I almost at 33k on the odometer, I will be bringing this up with my Sales manager and close friend who always helps we get want I want. Also I need the entire MySync checked out because it has been messed up for quite awhile. Can't accept incoming calls to my iPhone6. System locks up and lately the screen says a call to my iphone is in process but no one called in. It locks me out of my radio functions and is pretty much useless for anything except taking up space in the center of my dash. I'd give anything to have Apple CarPlay interfacing to the screen through my iPhone.

maerlim welcome, glad to have you join us you won't be sorry. These are awesome cars :love_shower:
  12. I'll be ordering soon too, Thanks Paul.
  13. ah! would be nice to have a basement but not feasible in earthquake country like NorCal. I could make a nice room to hang my stuff.
  14. Brother Jus, something seems to have changed with Maxus since rolling past 32k miles. In the last hundred or so miles I seem to be able to crank out a constant 45 AvMPG without even trying. For the last week I've stayed between 45.4 and 46.2 with very little effort. Even with more aggressive accelerator usage on both the freeway and urban roads. Also I've noticed at the end of one trip the total mpg shown on the gauge after I shut the car off was as high as 76.9mpg. Never been that high before. Rather nice but I don't know what made this change come about? The only thing I changed was the last tank of gas was premium, I normally use only regular but with gas prices being at or near $3.00/gallon I figured I'd treat Maxus as long as prices remain this low.
  15. Yay :yahoo: Paul great job, hope the other side shows up? Let us know for sure, I"ll have to order mine. I haven't installed the front ones yet.
  16. Great investigative work Paul, now we know both sets of deflectors. I'll have to order the rears. I've been putting off installing the fronts until I could get the rears. I found some push pins at a local O-Reilly's auto parts store I think will work before I pay what Ford wants for 4 pins. Look very similar to the ones pictured in this thread. I bought a package of 14 pins I'm sure for less than what Ford wants for those 4 picture in the link.
  17. Matt shouldn't that have covered under warranty? Or is that not covered?
  18. Jus just remember to :wub2: the wifey more and first
  19. Paul isn't that what the wife's primary task is to cover up our spending of necessary purchases? I thought that was all part of discretionary sending? Boy! I'm going to take some heat for that comment and rightfully so. :nonono: :finger:
  20. Can't speak much where Androids are concerned through the MFT. But I can say mine doesn't work with my iPhone 5 anymore. I can make out-going calls with some success, but forget receiving in-coming calls. Can't wait to get my new iPhone 6 should be a whole new set of issues. :gaah:
  21. Thanks everyone for your comments, I will give the engineering mode a try and see what happens?
  22. Tried to start Maxus and I got a triangle with an exclamation point inside on the drivers display, also a check engine light came on and no start. Shut off the start button waited a few seconds, tried again and same thing. Waited a few more and third try worked. Hasn't happened again and hope it doesn't. Anybody else had anything like this?
  23. there's no spare for a CMax and Ford never offered one as far as I know so I'm not buying this as a CMax spare
  24. I have a friend at my church who leases an SE and she has never had an issue with a dead battery or any other problem that I know of. Maybe thats the trick don't buy one...lease it.
  25. Laurel don't go! Keep the CMax, the Lincoln can't get the same mileage and certainly not as nice looking
