Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)
Jus-A-CMax replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
That suxs cmaxguy, sorry to hear your issues. Part of these issues may be dealer related. We know there are atrocious ones out there. In regards to Ford Motor..let me say this and I don't work for Ford, they conducted an Irvine pow wow where they brought in over 100 cmax owners ( my estimate) as well as over 50+ of their engineers. Never heard or seen another motor company do that. They did the same for the FFH. While I I have NDAs in place, I have been passing on my experiences and also issues with our CMaxs. One meet was interesting in that other models have similar issues and also dealer service issues. Let's face it some dealership are NOT prepared for updateable cars eg needing wired internet vs wifi, bandwidth issues? So what does this mean for troubled owners right now...nothing as Ford is a giant ship that takes a span of ocean to turn. I myself gave had gos issues and it took galpin and Ford techies 3 days to finally replace my gps module and a sone other days off for past pcm updates such as 13b07. I hold no grudge against galpin or ford. My Jaguar takes a a week or 2 for some issues also...may be when it comes to cars, I don't need my instant gratification. And before someone jumps on me for this post for not understanding what its like to own a lemon, I owned a very expensive XJ8 Jaguar with over 20+ dealer fixes and it was a lemon...but I did not go off my my tree because Galpin & Jaguar took care if us and the car each time. We bought 2 more Jaguars subsequent. Importance of finding a great dealer that still has customer service ad their #1 goal. -
AE...sounds like u have beer filled eyes too

I see no diff in terms of :airquote: better aerodynamic as we heard earlier, seems the same to me. Some one might be better to spot the changes than my beer filled eyes ;)

Brother Mike - yeah, October 2012 was the birthday for Maxine. As trouble free as it gets and when she was in Galpin took real good care of me and her. Reason why our family keep going back to the Galpin Auto Group for our vehicles. -
Gotta agree, the Prii plug-in was a complete joke, plus those Prii are stuck on 45 mph max EV anyway, screw that....
-
That! Would be a hell of a coup if you can pull it off Brother Mike :)

I swear, if Ford had given us :airquote: mere hybrids some plugin ability, we would KILL the MPGs as well. So many times, the day I have more charge when I return home, I get a wee better run to work but thats if I change my route to a less efficient one on the way back home. Its a give-n-take. Hell, market the CMax like Tesla market the Model S with the different battery size. Yep, I will mention this to them next time - I got another survey coming up again :skateboard:

Thats the beauty of living in this scr*wed up state called California, we still have beautiful weather and little rain...but God help us when it rains, we don't know how to drive when the road is wet...we only practice wet road driving and it's small patch only - after we wash our cars on the driveway. I lie...some of us have more training - at the local car wash. I think catsailor will get the cold and same with Brother Mike up in SF before I get the coldies.

I started with 1" and moved it back to 1 1/2" which seemed better according to my results as I had a 78.4 MPG run on that fateful day...then ka-boom. So you'll have to run with it for the time being - be very interested in what you find Paul. If you can stack it with stock, stock with covers and stock with covers and pods, that would be nice to see the trending, if any. It will be a while before I am back in the cockpit - not gonna be quick and I have not decided how its going to swing either. If I end up with the repair route, I have to baseline again jus to see how the fixed is fairing and if it effects the battery and MPG - so might be good to get more data points. I jus want an open discussions about these Pods. If this is the only place Aerohance can get a fair and reasonable shake with us CMaxers, so be it.

DrDiesel....that the problem there, you see the others as lemmings and you treat them as such - thats no way to communicate. You may have the greatest knowledge in the world but if you can't communicate without hurling insults at them - it means diddly squat as NO ONE is going to listen to you. You and I were good when I was asking questions about the Energi on another thread but here, you kinda lose with lil patience or understanding...not sure why. I know deep down you want to help and changing you tone and attitude would go long way to becoming an effective communicator to pass what you learnt on. K. Also, this thread is about Dead Battery, so for the folks caught up in this, i apologize for the forum...lets go back to trying to resolve these issues. DrDiesel - feel free to PM to discuss this further if you like. I am always open unless I get PO. Hey, I'm human too...
-
Paul, I am surprised you have not done something similar with A to B runs to see if your gas pods vs non gas pods stats reflect a similar result or better since you have the additional cover for the grill and wheels. Would you care to do some runs here for the forum? Also what distance are you running your Pods it from the back edge (can't recall if I or others asked this before hand...hmmmh).

OK DrDiesel - time to back up mate....if you do not have any constructive comment to the issue at hand, please refrain from posting. Right now, you are just a "t" away from receiving a warning point for personal attacks in Post #1002 from me. Be constructive - these owners are real, and have real issues. Not everyone is going to have a perfect car and unfortunately, the complexity of these new cars means theres a greater chance of lemoning than others. I have personally mentioned the dead battery as a major, major issues in all the Ford Motor Company surveys/group meetings and theres been more than a few that I have attended and Ford is more than aware of it - resulting in some TSB updates. Some TSB worked and some didn't so there is something evil still around. Be THANKFUL yours is not in this group. I am. Abliet mine is in pieces at the moment. I will be monitoring this thread and all your posts from now onwards. Stay on the right side of the road and do not speed, K ;) PS Everyone, there is an IGNORE function on this forum, feel free to use it. If you don't know how to, PM me. Lets focus on the issue at hand.

No, no, no....it's Just say'n. No "t"s allowed..... ;)

Sounds like it! If the Energi didn't have a hump in the back, I would be all over it. Thanks man. 32? C'mon...I expect at least 40 out of you fr.Bill....lol...j/k... Good to hear the Energi is working out so well fr.bill and you are ALWAYS WELCOME in our CMax forum - remember that :) Now, fr.Bill and DrDiesel - on the freeway, do you both get the "blip" the pedal to kick the car into the ICE high mpg mode aka negative split mode?
-
Hey DrDiesel...jus curious? Do you baby the car when in the full EV mode for the 1st 25 miles? For me, if I am in EV, I am babying, minimalist use. Ive heard the Enegi run as much as 1800+ miles on a tank because of the continual plug in charge. Amazing.

What did you do with the MPG rebate check?

Jus-A-CMax replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Frank, its no just the CMax that has issues with the MFT. One clear thing that in one of the surveys I participated in was that ALL the Ford owners complained about the MFT. All. Out of 10 people, 8 were different Fords ither than CMax and they all gave a thumb down on the MFT. I told them the 3.6.2 solved a lot of issues..but the past versions left a very bad taste in almost all of the survey's group minds. Ford did get the message. -
...it took me a while to get use to it. First impression, it looked :airquote: oddly right but not quite right but looked good, or does it. Confused? Yep, that was my impression. The driveability was the MAIN SELLING POINT (do you hear me Ford Motor Company)? They should...lucky enough for them to draw my name in a survey, the same night my Maxine and I got toasted. Sigh. Well...+positive is that the CMax is a SAFE car!!!! :yahoo:
