I suspect the hybrid badges are a safety / legal issue

Weird fan noise from engine compartment at start up
rfruth replied to dtorres's topic in General Discussion
I think the noise is the the radiator fan (the air it moves) - all cars make this noise but its hard to hear with the gas motor running (the fan cycles on & off as needed) -
Key Stuck in Ignition Problems?
rfruth replied to JayCo59's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
My guess is the neutral safety switch thing needs adjusting -
I saw one driving around a HEB grocery store the other day :) (guess Houston is more SE than SW)

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?
rfruth replied to CNCGeek's topic in General Discussion
Do you (anyone) have to press the brake to 'start' (boot) or to shift into a gear (wonder how other cars with push button work) ? -
Horn Notification of Door Lock
rfruth replied to darrelld's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Now I understand what you are saying, how about using the power lock door switch on the inside of the door or try the door handle on the outside to make sure the door is locked (workarounds at best, hope for no accidental unlock) a horn chirp would be better not sure how without the keyhead transmitter thing, glad you brought this up ! -
Engine air filter every 3000 miles ?
rfruth replied to rfruth's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
I missed a zero, it says 30000 :rant2: -
Horn Notification of Door Lock
rfruth replied to darrelld's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Press the lock button a 2nd time within three seconds to confirm that all the doors are closed. The doors will lock again, the horn will chirp and the turn signals will illuminate if all the doors and the liftgate are closed. -
Scheduled maintenance (page 365 of owners manual) says replace engine air filter every 3000 miles (normal use) think thats a typo, should be every 30,000 ? :worship:

There is a vacuum pump, you might have heard that - I wouldn't loose any sleep over it
-
Not sure how anyone is supposed to know how to check the battery, the owners manual under scheduled maintenance says to check "Battery performance" (gee thanks Ford) - my idea, make sure the connections are clean & tight also the eye (on top of the battery) is green. (12 volt hybrid batteries are different, ideally they would be in stock)
-
I assume (but you know what they say) its the 12 volt battery, what a drag - do you know if the inspection eye on the battery is red or green ?

Considering a base (300A) SEL, how is the 6 speaker sound system working out for those of you have it ?

max MPG is the new 0-60 race & the C-Max is one of the best !

Fog lights / Retrofit

I don't know the answer, are there two different BCM's (one without the relay) ? -
What do you HD radio users think about it ? here is one (non C-Max owner) opinion http://hdradiofarce.blogspot.com/

Since the water pump is electric (as is everything else) are there zero drive belts ?
-
Sounds nice, A/C good & cold ?
-
My Fusion calls for 34 PSI (cold) in the stock Michelin XSE P225 50R17's. ((still in use)) I use 38 for several reasons, better MPGs, easier to adjust the pressure if need be, don't have to add air as often & better handling - no abnormal wear - If C-Max I'd go up 1 or 2 PSI and see how it goes (how much difference between cold and hot) ?
-
I don't have a C-Max, is a max pressure on the side of the tire ?
-
Good to know, thanks !
