got my check last night, thanks for your help Rachel......

no real mountains here in Va near DC so I'm not worried about overheating as I think there has been enough evidence on the site to show that its not as big of a problem as fold think. that being said. having any mod that blocks the grille Heck today in the drive to work the temp gauge barely got of the proverbial peg. Also my mods are not strictly for aero purposes per se. they are more to help isolate the engine compartment from cold air. Ie speed up the warm up time. That being said, doing the blocking I'm doing should not hurt the aero. so I may realize a slight aero benefit.

Paul yeah the front end if its smoother is better. but I live in the area of sand/salt and perpetual road construction and I think over time the lexan will become pitted and scratched. So I'm thinking about one of two ways. either a large one piece sheet of aluminum that fits behind the opening and is painted flat black so its just behind the grill opening. This is most difficult to do and not easily reversible, IE if I'm on a trip and notice overheating, I'd need tools. But from a manufacturing standpoint is the easiest the other option woudl to be cut three pieces of aluminum to fit in the opening so they rest on top of the recessed vertical bars and paint them to match the surrounding black plastic. with right angles bent into the ends so that can be attached with something a clip, a snap, ect. so removal would be easy, like your grill blocker. and the look woudl be similar to the foam blockers just three pieces in stead of a dozen... So either method would retain the "bumpiness" of the front fascia the lower grille would be a similar process. from all of my research, the grilles are just clipped in. On my Prius with a little bit of elbow grease I was able to pop the lower grill out once I removed the lower air dam. Hopefully the ford is similar...

grill blocks Step 1. Well I cut some aluminum to place behind the upper grille. basically 4.25"x11" with a corner cut out it dropped in behind the upper grill after removing the clips. up close its visible but from the street can't tell. One on each side. Next step will be two work on middle and lower grill... curious as whether or not I can come from under the bumper by removing the lower aeroshields.... so I don't have to remove the entire front bumper..

598 miles 349 EV 48.8 indicated 12.24gal used indicated 13.1 gallons pumped 45.6 calc. I had my daughter with me and I took a longer roundabout route coming home trying to get over 600 miles. but no such luck.

ford isn't alone, I don't think any car maker makes it easy to access the hidden bits any more......

center console looks easy enough just a bunch of clips. probably one of them is broken. I d go to a craft store and get some felt or something to help isolate the parts to keep them from rubbing. or some foam. the seatbelt is going to be a btch since to access it you need to remove the B pillar which means you need to remove the door trim... have fun....:)
-
here is the set belt system... and the B pillar access... Honestly, If you are still under warranty... I'd take it to the dealer to deal with this. lot of work to with huge potential for a screw up... Page #4 the cup holders are shaded in blue just behind the shifter. but it looks like you may have to remove the area under the shifter, and under the E-brake as well.

i have access to aldata and I can try to print some diagrams... not sure I understand the seat belt button but here is the aldata on the center console. looks like a bunch of spring clips nothing to "tighten down" so to speak ALLDATA Repair - Library and Educational Version - 2013 Ford C Max Hybrid L4-2.0L Hybrid - Floor Console.pdf

Silly Question A Warning Light just came on

same thing happend to me this week. car is garaged over night and its been chilly in the Am so as soon as I leave the garage and start driving in the cold, one of them went low and then once warmed up the light went off. not a bad idea to check the pressures with the change in seasons..... -

The reason you got locked up...was after not paying the speeding ticket you DL was suspended in Kansas. and since Kansas and Indiana have non resident reciprocity what happens to your DL in another state generally will follow you home. and once the police pull you over for some other infraction and they run your DL...all the fun begins... Alaska does not participate in the non resident reciprocity. IE they don't give a damn if you get a ticket in another state. In the past non resident reciprocity used to be only with neighboring states. but the ages of computers and realtime data changed all of that.. basically... its is smart to pay your tickets in a timely fashion... -
GM next-gen infotainment system to run Android

wireless charging would be nice but too many models of phones/cases to make it really possible... Id be happy with a "shorty" USB plug or restraciable plug and a dedicated pouch/recess to hold the phone out of the way. thats not in the center console or a center up holder... -
quick trip home from the grocery store...pretty sure the engine came on as a result of the 120mpg.... but not enough gas used to register on the screen...

GM next-gen infotainment system to run Android
Marc Smith replied to kostby's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
think about it... for the longest time car makers have been trying to create software for the A/V aspect of cars. its about time they got smart and let a computer company that already has mobile platforms deal with the systems. I think its a win/win. we are already voluntarily tracked by the GPS in the car, your credit card purchases, EzPass usage, and when your cell phone is on whats one more level of voluntary tracking. if you don't like it... to buy the product. ;) think about it. if your display screen essentially was just a duplicate of your phone screen... yuo'd have your music, NAV, contacts, ect all on a screen that you are already comfortable interacting with. the only bummer will be is if you are abn "apple person" and you car is a droid... -
first two kegs.... flying dog raging bitch IPA and Duclaw Euforia brown ale very yummy....

ok, a lot has happened. I ordered the supplies, and they got delivered, found a pinlock corny keg at a yard sale for $5, picked up two empty 1/2 kegs at work (free) and drilled some holes in a perfectly good refer... I have two pony kegs reserved for tomorrow and I have to get the CO2 tank filled

I went with the tan. though it looked off, but haven't really noticed the color difference once yougte used to it. my two complaints. drive side dead pedal. needs to be higher. and the passenger side just doesn't fit as nice, almost like the size is off by a smidge and the mat moves around some. needs to have an anchor like the drivers side... -
nice job....

never understood the whole 9/10's thing in the modern era... might as well get rid of it... I'll have to work the math on my next fillup... Class action lawsuit :)

Well three phone calls with left messages and no returned calls, I called again yesterday and finally got a human. They want a copy of the sales contract... Well SH!T when I called in early september why not ask for it then? I guess I shouldn't be angry. its free money. Right. And I'm getting nearly as good mileage as they advertised originally...
