mine is begining to come up... its all self inflicted. when I pull my golf bag out it drags along the carpet, and since there is nothing from the factory to protect the edge, or recess the carpet. like what the factory did to the seat hing flaps, the carpet edge is just a smidge recessed..... It look slike the carped it stuck down to the backing material with something like rubber cement... the edges just need some extra "grippy" glue or something.. it look slike its just a heavy duty rubber mat under the carpet... make me almost want to strip the carpet off the rubber mat...

Buying used 2013 C-Max vs. new (or used) 2014?
Marc Smith replied to Denverdavo's topic in General Discussion
I've had my 2013 SEL since late may. It was used with about 11000 miles on the clock for under $20K and a lot of bumper to bumper factory warranty left. the 2014 is going to cost you more up front when compared to a similar mileage 2013. but you are getting a year extra warranty... the car replaced a prius. The Ford has been trouble free, no problems, no issues...no visits to the dealership. It does need to go for the seatback and airbag recall. the car has never failed to start and I'm getting good mileage. -
I'll have to be more diligent in looking for it. Givvn my down hill run at home it may never show up...

sorry to bring back an old thread... My manual talks about the ev+ on page 179 and then sends me to the information cluster pages and I finaly learn how to turn it on the driver menu. my question. how do you know that EV+ is being used? does an icon light up? with my commute... my trip home the last 1/2 mile is all down hill, and at work, its dead flat... is it blind faith that its working...

New Costco Tire Rotation/Nitrogen Program
Marc Smith replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Wheels & Tires
nitrogen does not expand or contract as much as oxygen in regards to temperature... fact. nitrogen atoms are lareger than oxygen.. fact. filling the tires up with 100% nitrogen will eleminate any water vapor inside the tires. Fact while none of thise will help fuel mileage it may reduce the amount of time you spend on checking your tire pressure. But you still need to keep an eye on your tires to spot abnormal wear, cuts, ect... I'd put nitrogen in the same leauge as gas pods, vortex generators and other gimmicks for the daily driver. over the road truckers, public transportation, race car drivers, ect. nitrogen is probably a worthwile investment... that being said. if we got a nitrogen generator at work for our busses... I'd take advantage of it.. -

New Costco Tire Rotation/Nitrogen Program
Marc Smith replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Wheels & Tires
WAB, actually, the O2 molecule is smaller than N2. which is why you get the slow drop off of tire pressure. since N is bigger It won't leak as bad, nor does its volume change as much with the difference between eat and cold... This means your tire pressures remain more stable as your tires heat up or for those of us with winter, the outside temps drop... The other benefit to all nitrogen is the purging of the water vapor inside the tires... -
Turning off camera and park assist
Marc Smith replied to fazzman's topic in Accessories & Modifications
If its on its own fuse, you could juts pull the fuse. another option would be to unplug the PAM... to at least disable the rear parking assist. but that might throw a code... I have attached the sensor locations and some associated wiring diagrams. Hey folks, I'm in the beginning stages of thinking about changing and old fridge out to a kegerator... My plan is to to take my side by side fridge and set it up to handle two pony kegs. My ultimate hope is to get a corny keg and try my hand at home brewing...And brewing to fill a small keg is, I think, easier than bottling... any thoughts from the home brewers out there.... the down side to this...I loose a lot of space in the basement fridge, which would probably upset the spousal unit...

wires get hot, insulation burns, melts fuel line...

Isn't there some high voltage connectors under the hood? The prius has been known to have rodent problems too...

Paul, I agree, but I'm not sure what would cause a manufacturer to investigate a fire. I woudl think it would ultimately be up to the insurance company to determine the cause (if they care) or maybe the local fire chief. The only reason the insurance company would care would be to try to assign blame to recoup their money. IE if they can figure out it was a manufacturing defect, or the Valet dropped a ciggy or some sort of other reason (fraud). given the amount of battery juice in hybrids, coupled with the gas tank. it is a formidable combination...

Well, it still is carefree... no more oil changes, no more gas, or any type of maintenance for that matter....
