  1. Just curious as to what functions your talking about. Off the top of my head the only Nav functions that cease to work are typing on the keyboard. You can do that with voice, if it doesn't recognize something, you can also spell the street or poi one letter at a time to it.
  2. I've always found Bluetooth to not be entirely stable with different phones and headsets. (Not talking about sync, but Bluetooth in general.) Although it seems better in recent years.
  3. Of course I think the whole point is if its stolen. All that almost makes me want to trade in my hybrid for the energi....almost.
  4. My guess its part of the separation of the systems. The right screen is controlled my MFT and the left is not. Can't have MFT involved in any of the driving characteristics of the car, thus the traction control is controlled by the left screen.
  5. If they changed this to remember dual-zone on every startup, I'm sure we would see a post with this question: "Anyone know how to turn dual-zone climate off? I even turned it off and back on and it still remembers. Help!" :)
  6. The bi-directional remote start has a similar feature in that it honks the horn 4-times. It's called progressive scan. This is a little better in that the bi-directional remote start fob has a greater range than the car fob to lock/unlock the doors. According to the manual, the Integrated Keyhead Transmitters (the key for the SE) has the panic. The Type 1 Intelligent Access Key (the key for the SEL) does not. The Type 2 Intelligent Access Key (the key for the Energi) has the panic.
  7. There is something about that voice command prompt that makes every person in my car start talking at the same time. :finger:
  8. Where was this happening on the wiring harness? I'm wondering if its easily accessible that we could monitor it.
  9. Are you sure you are using a command that the car is programmed to know? Just trying to be helpful :)
  10. That is true, I believe the Type 2 is only for the Energi due to the built-in remote start.
  11. There are times when I'm driving that is 100% pure ICE on the freeway, no electric assist. Due to Engage mode and no down arrow below the battery. That was what I was referring to earlier.
  12. IMO smart phones aren't as good with the hands off approach as sync is. You have to take your eyes off the road as well as your hands off the steering wheel to operate the phone.
  13. I'm not past the Trial date yet, but I have heard you can usually negotiate with Sirius to get a better price than they offer on the web. Registering at Sync gets you Vehicle health reports, as well as Sync Updates. It is also necessary for Sync Services and if you want to subscribe to that. (You get a free trial with the purchase of the car.) With Sync Services the car makes a phone call using your phone and you can ask it info about sport teams, schedule, weather, traffic, movies, horoscopes, and navigation. Navigation using Sync services can be helpful because you can actually get a hold of a live person to help you find something (I'm pretty sure about this, have not tried it myself). Anywho, directions through Sync Services download to the car and then will be on the map, as if you have entered the destination directly into the car. Also, you can use Sync Services to get navigation help, without paying for navigation package for MFT in the car. You don't get a map however. (Again, I'm pretty sure about this. I have the Nav package so I'll have to pull out my Nav SD card and give it a try sometime.) Using Mapquest on the web, or using the Sync Destinations app on your phone (Android also has Send To Car which I prefer), you can send a destination to the car. When using these services to send a destination to the car, you have to use Sync Services to retrieve the destination. Pull the voice paddle and say "Services".
  14. Yes, and you can also pick recent destinations or favorites using steering wheel commands too. What I prefer, however, is to voice tag my favorites so I can just say "Destination Home" and I'm on my way. There are a lot of options Rachel, but the good news is you will get the hang of it in no time.
  15. I'm not sure on your first point, but have noticed the recharge stops working on a full battery. Usually when that happens, I'm getting around 50mpg on the ice anywhere from 65 to 75 mph. My theory is that all the energy from the engine is moving the wheels, not recharging the battery.
  16. The reason why I got it is because I hardly parallel park. My thinking is since I do it so infrequently, I get out of practice. So the few times I need it, I need it :)
  17. I have found that when I try to close the liftgate myself, it will not always close. If I let the car do it, it will close everytime. Are you trying to close it by hand when you have these problems?
  18. Since you seem to have experience with all these, do any other have the separate display in the instrument cluster? I find it the best feature of all. I usually have it show the current entertainment option, and have the main screen show nav, but if my passenger wants to screw around with the screen, I can set the nav to the instrument cluster. My main interface w/ MFT is voice, then steering wheel controls, then touch screen. Just curious as to what the competition is.
  19. I have nav. Everyone is going to define dramatic as differently. I've had a few quirks w/ MFT, but overall am very happy with it.
  20. Since I don't know, do these other systems from the other manufacturers come with the same feature set?
  21. You absolutely can interrupt her at any time. Just pull the voice button (tab, flipper?) ooh, paddle, on the steering wheel.
  22. I recommend practicing on a residential street with only one car parked. It works fine, pull up next to the parked car and it will park you. Obviously not needed if you are not parking between two cars, but it makes it easier to test the feature and you have the potential to do less damage when you practice. With park assist, you should never have to take your foot off the brake fully, just go nice and slow :)
  23. I have a flux capacitor on mine I found on the internet somewhere :-D I think I found it here: http://focusmftwallpapers.tumblr.com/
  24. I don't know about Canada, but on the US stickers: "Actual results will vary for many reasons, including driving conditions and how you drive and maintain your vehicle."
