  1. As another former Jeep owner, I know what you are saying. The seating position was my first concern, but once I sat in the C-MAX, I knew I was *home*. I love my car too!
  2. YAY!!! The Midwest C-MAXes are coming into our time!!!
  3. Thanks MikeB! I couldn't understand why they were still on in full sunlight this morning............this is a new development. It *used* to go off after the sun was up, on my way to work.
  4. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity or timing of the auto lights? Mine stay on well after sunrise these mornings. And they don't seem to come on as early in the evenings as I see on other cars. I know, nit-picky.
  5. HI MN from MI! (We were there last week!) I'm seeing the same thing here in MI. It'll be interesting to see how the mileage climbs in the warmer weather.
  6. Model: SEL Lifetime miles: 4180.05 Lifetime EV Miles: 2185.9 Lifetime Regen: 226.1 Lifetime Brake Score: 96% Lifetime MPG: 36.2 First fill up: 12.7.12 Most recent: 3.25.13
  7. It seems that someone on the forum had this issue a couple of months back and resolved it with the dealership beforehand. When I ordered mine my salesman said that by ordering I would qualify for *at least* the discount in effect at the time of the order, *or* higher, if Ford upped the discount before I took ownership. I would call your salesman and see if you can get something in writing that says you will get the rebate because you ordered the car in good faith before the deadline.
  8. Silly suggestion, but check it for dust....mine looks out of focus if it's dirty....

    First Hybrid

You're in the right place Garrett, and welcome!!!
  10. I think because yours was built in this calendar year it came with the update already installed. You *probably* have 3.5.1 and the rest of us, who got ours in the fall, have 3.1.1. For whatever reason, I'm glad yours works well. You waited too long for your car to have problems with it :>) I seldom have reason to use the navigation, but after hearing of so many who have problems, I'm starting to use it on places I know....just to check. So far it's been fine. I just called my dealership about the upgrade. He's gonna check and call me back. I'll report what I find out.

    First Hybrid

Hi Joe, and welcome! The C-Max is my first hybrid too, and I'm lovin' in! You came to the right place to learn about your new ride. Enjoy reading, and ask questions when you don't see what you want to know.
  12. Emphatically YES! I would buy my C-MAX again! :wub2: At the risk of jinxing myself, I've only had 1 tiny problem, that turned out to be part of the learning curve (earbud, Droid, SYNC issue). :headscratch: I love the ride, the quiet, the technology, the gas mileage (which is increasing weekly). I love all the new stuff I'm learning while learning about my car.
  13. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day Laurel! What birds are you likely to see there? We were at a park today and there were at least 12 swans. It must have been a Spring dating site for them :>)
  14. OK, I confess I stopped reading after this sentence and transported right there to MB. This is one of our favorite places! When our daughter and SIL lived in MdR, we visited Manhattan Beach several times a year and loved it. Your post took me right back to those hills, the beach, the volleyball nets, walking on the Strand, the wonderful little cafes. Thanks for the nice mental break from MI! (And after this break, it's back to the real world and making breakfast.)
  15. If you're used to a really tight turning radius, you will feel the difference. It's about the only thing I miss about my Jeep Liberty...........the ability to do a U=turn in the middle of just about any street in downtown A2. But I'm just learning to pic my streets better :>) It was a small price to pay for all the other +++ that come with the C-Max
  16. I would have to say that I use each of them, according to time of day driving, traffic, weather, road conditions, etc, except P and G on the expressway. I don't think I've mastered that well enough to avoid p!$$ing off the other drivers here in MI, plus the roads here are horrible. It's like driving on an obstacle course sometimes to avoid the potholes :rant2: It does seem that I can milk a few more tenths of miles of mpg by doing it manually rather than eco-cruise sometimes tho. Right now, I'm not entirely sure what is contributing to my improved MPGs......weather? engine break in? learning to drive a hybrid? I suspect all of the above.

    Lifetime MPG

Well, I reset it before I knew any different.........I guess I will have to let Fuelly will keep close to lifetime for me now,
  18. Congrats gltram, It's nice to have these moderating temps, isn't it? I was 51.6 MPG on my drive home today........same route as always, M-F. 41 * @ 5pm. Back roads from the west side of A2 to Milan, 45-55 mph. A few stops signs/lights. Wonderful!!
  19. 41* today. Bright sunshine. Same exact drive home as every other M-F. 51.6 mpg. I rest my case. I LOVE :wub2: my C-MAX!!!
  20. Hi Hatchman, MPG on individual trips to and from work 5 days a week have steadily increased as the weather has moderated, but it's not reflected in the Fuelly sig yet. I drive about 20 miles each way to work. Mornings are cold here in Michigan, so it's usually 33-34MPG on the way in, using heat, defrost, lights, and bun warmers, but on the way home, when it's warmer, I see 44-52...same route. I've been driving since late November, with weeks of temps in the single digits, and that takes it's toll. Warmers days, even temps in the 40s, seriously increase my MPG. My current tank, driven before we left for our trip during nicer days, is @ 40.2 MPG. I have nearly 4,000 on the odo. Plus, I'm learning a lot from this forum.
  21. We were in Minnesota for 6 days visiting with Jerry's parents, who are ill. We flew out and rented a car.....needed a mid-sized SUV to haul folks, luggage, walkers, wheelchairs, etc, and got a deal on a.............Jeep Liberty, which is what I drove *BC*, Before C-MAX. This was a newer model than mine, by about 10 years. I am only 3.5 months removed driving the Jeep, but here's what I missed, in no particular order: Hands-free lift gate Keyless entry ( I kept wondering why the door didn't unlock when I had the keys in my pocket!) And then there was having to use a key to start it! What? And no *New Car* smell The dash just looked weird! Where was my Brake Coach? Where was my Empower Mode? Rain (or in our case snow-sensing) wipers were not there No rear view camera Missed the incredibly quiet ride, esp. in EV mode No EV mode? Couldn't coast! Even tho it was a bigger vehicle, I felt really cramped in it! I was dark inside, not brightly open to the sky like my C-MAX Having to climb up to get in, instead of simply sliding to the right and sitting. And the really, really big one............getting only 14 MPG compared to my 38-52 MPG in my C-MAX. I sure was glad to get behind the wheel of my little Jelly Bean today! And I'm sure I'll realize some other things I missed after another trip out and about.
  22. So sorry, we are out of town. Not avail. Til Wednesday.
