  1. Same thing happens to me. Someone else on this forum figured it and determined that the car calculated average mpg were off by a consistent percentage. Don't recall what that percentage was though.
  2. It may be "powered by Microsoft" but I put the full blame for the MFT glitches on Ford. In the end this is Ford's vehicle and they gave the stamp of approval to start production using MFT despite all the problems. If I had bought my MFT/Nav radio from a retailer it would have already been returned with the explanation that it was a defective unit. In all fairness to Ford when it works it's awesome and I actually enjoy the interface. But unfortunately it's just not consistent enough and the glitches are just too many.
  3. Check out this post: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/429-4000-mile-trip-in-my-new-c-max/?hl=%2Broad+%2Btrip Member "bkawaii7" did a trip in his C-Max of 4000 miles in 5 days and posted his comments for each day.
  4. Remote start is a separate add on option that the dealer installs. If you search remote start on this forum you'll find a couple of threads where it's talked about. I recall someone posted pics of their install.
  5. That's why I paid for first day rental coverage on my extended warranty. It comes in handy and then I'm not worried as much if it takes more than one day.
  6. Also I was concerned about getting to the second row storage areas on the floor. It's no problem at all to lift one side to access the storage area. One additional pitch for these mats. The third row mat in my wife's Taurus X was warping and bending at the edged after 2.5 years (3 year warranty). Called Weather Tech and they said no problem we'll send you a replacement free of charge. Great customer service.
  7. Here's pics of the rear mat http://www.flickr.com/photos/92532338@N04/8454813142/
  8. Worked with out a hitch. Thank you for the post!
  9. +1 on the rear window opening. I used to get 12 foot long pieces of lumber home from the hardware store with my Escape by running them through the opened rear window.
  10. Zalusky I completely forgot to do this. I'll post some pics of the rear mat tomorrow.
  11. TxWally It's funny that you say that. Traffic always made me mad. Now it makes me smile because it slows the freeway to below 60 and I can run in electric mode. So weird how a single car has changed two decades of driving habits.
  12. Screaming Potato! That's what I call my C-Max. A term of endearment of course, I love this car.
  13. That's one of the reasons I bought the C-Max over a Prius V. When you need the power it's there. It will cost you in gas mileage when you floor it but I'm o.k. with that. I'd rather burn a few extra gallons of fuel but have the power to accelerate quickly when I need it.
  14. "LOL, and here I thought it was just my little angel doing it!!" I thought the same thing. I was going to tell my son to stop pulling it out.
  15. I remember $1.19 in CA in the early 90's when I first started driving. I'd easily fill up my '90 Ranger's tank for $20.
  16. I owned an 03 Corolla that had the brakes lock tight from rust. The tow truck had to drag it out of the garage and onto the flat bed because the wheels wouldn't roll. It was a good car but no more reliable than any Ford I've owned.
  17. Yup, it's the electric a/c compressor pump. Took it to the dealer and they said it's normal.
  18. Wingrider01 Maybe in a past life the sheet metal for your CMax was recycled from a police Crown Vic. Since the internal GPS can track the car it knows it's headed for donuts and coffee and it over stimulates the vehicle's circuits to the point that MFT reboots.
  19. While this technique seems like it has potential for going up a steep incline I worry a bit about how abusive it is on the engine's components to keep "punching" it as you go up the hill. Especially if it's a large grade and you have to do it several times in a row before you reach the top.
  20. BWP You have a really easy going attitude. I would have been livid with Ford roadside assistance after Ford decided to leave out the spare, then comes up with excuses for why they would charge you for roadside assistance.
  21. If you switch the screen to the right of the speedometer to nav display instead of the efficiency leaves the next turn directions are on that screen.
  22. I've noticed that on all the Fords I've owned. First the rear speakers were usually lower quality than the front. Second the rears always sounded muffled. But HotPotato's answer may have explained why. I almost always swap out the factory speakers for better aftermarket ones. Unfortunately no one has made the necessary adapter kits yet to switch the speakers on a C-Max without having to do cut the factory speakers out of the integrated brackets.
  23. But I think it's linked to activating the paddle while the map screen is up on the screen and tracking you. Outside of the two freezes its actually been working well. I struggled with it in the beginning until I learned the commands it expects to hear and now its been working well. The only exception is I still have problems getting it to recognize street names and numbers sometimes.
