  1. If you're at all into camping, check out the receptacles are campgrounds, so you can plug in there if you wish.
  2. I also have a 2013 Energi, and I'm just not going to bother. Having a less-connected car just makes it like all the other cars I've had. Seems that all those features were nice, but far from necessary, and nowhere near worth the price and hassle.
  3. Yours lasted much longer than mine!
  4. Also, while you're charging, tap the leaves at the bottom of the main screen (if you have them, I have a '13 Energi w/stock innards). The two screens there show more detail about the charging system, including charge percentage and charging or not.
  5. They are all connected to the same power feeds. In your situation, the best bet here is to turn the car on, but (of course) leave it in park. The motor will come on if the big battery runs low.
  6. In addition, EV Later essentially puts things into Hybrid mode at whatever the battery charge level is when you enter that mode (it's announced on the left screen); the software tries to keep the battery charged within a few percent of that value. Those of us who like fiddling with things watch the percentage on the big screen and triple-tap the EV mode button whenver the charge exceeds that value; stopping from highway speeds generally pushes a few percent into the battery.
  7. One of the left-hand view options shows you the power draw threshholds that the software uses to decide when to start the ICE. In EV, it tries really hard to avoid using the ICE. In Auto, it'll start the ICE if you gun it, run the defroster, or use too much regen braking when the battery's already fully charged (like starting in L and stopping at the end of my driveway). With gentle driving, it will still drain the battery all the way down before starting the ICE; I wish there was a speed threshhold at about 45mph.
  8. When my 12v had it's little episode recently, the radio stations and such were kept, but the "EV+" and "My View" memory was gone. Different memory technologies, I suppose; it's likely all local to the device itself and not kept in some central memory module.
  9. For those following along at home, my 12V battery has survived later, deeper cold snaps down to 0F with apparently no trouble so far. I'm in the Boston suburbs, and the temps have been all over the place in the last few weeks. The EV+ came back after a few days, although so far it's just around home, reasonably enough. I hit enough different grocery stores that it hasn't taken a liking to any of them. I will sorta miss passing within sight of my office or my son's school and seeing the EV+ light up. Dennis
  10. I bow to your superior search skills! I looked for one of those awhile back and never found it!
  11. There's a +post under the hood for just this. It's a pinky-sized octagon poking up in the front right, driver's side.
  12. I'm going to give it another chance. It got cold again yesterday and today with no ill effects, so it has a reprieve for now. Side effects: it kept the radio settings and the bluetooth pairings but it lost its EV+ memory and MyView settings. Different memory technologies, most likely.
  13. Oh, that's disappointing. Of course, some of those EV-only-busting reasons are true for the CMax Energi as well, but for most of them it at least pops up a notice that it wants to start the engine. The only that I haven't been able to completely avoid is stopping at the end of my driveway in L.
  14. It was taken down by the owner, who promised to migrate the content over here, but never did.
  15. This has actually been puzzling me for a while! If the "hybrid" part of the Energi battery is the lowest (say) 5% of all cells, isn't that really hard on the battery? It makes better engineering sense if the "hybrid" part is 5% of the cells in the HVB that are then kept charged to some optimal level until the rest of the HVB has been depleted, and are then kept neatr that optimal level as an energy buffer. It has been lore here that discharging the HVB to a low level is bad for it; are we hurting the whole pack by cycling all of the cells between 3 and 6% when running in hybrid mode?
  16. It's cold again, so (of course!) my 12v battery decided to not power the car yesterday morning. No lights, nothing. *sigh* Attach jumper cables from my son's Subaru. It's *so* satisfying to hear the contacts click when you make that connection! That's it, just wanted to share a bit... Dennis
  17. Thanks for checking! I know there are others who would like to do the same.
  18. I'm an Energi owner; I know that this is the "hybrid" forum, but the Energi forum got canned. I poked through all of the settings that I can find, and I can't see a way to change my tagline to be "Energi Member". Is there such a setting somewhere? Thanks!
  19. ... and you got to change one of the easy ones! Well done! Enjoy your new ride!
  20. Please keep it! The different dashboard configurations are interesting. I was surprised (although in retrospect I shouldn't've been) to see my friend's Lincoln Hybrid had much the same displays as my CMax.

    Howdy!

Mine works "well enough" that I'm not going to mess with it for now. I can see curbs if they're at all contrasty, and the guidlines work fine, so it's good enough for parking.
