EV +. It's only come on once in my car - and that was my last trip to the dealership! It recognizes the dealership, but not my home or work.

I am running A3, but I also have an A4 card, which I cannot use yet. I guess I have to wait for the update to arrive.

Drive home - 3 hours on the turnpike with my father driving instead of me. He's horrible with cars. Also, the wind was blowing against us. He got 27 mpg! Yikes!
-
At the highest setting, I can also easily reach the pedals. But it causes pain long term because that's not the best setting for me. I'm 5'4 and need to angle my body differently. It can take weeks to find the right spot for me.

Turnpike at 75 mph for three hours was 38 mpg. Daily driving with mixed city, highway, and traffic is 45 to 50 mpg. I think this is a 47 mpg car.

I use the cruise whenever I can. I'm getting right around 46 - 50 mpg. I've recently hit the 1000 miles mark. I've turned the air conditioning on as well. I do drop quite a bit on mpgs when I am going above 60, of course. Today is my first road trip on the turnpike and I'll be driving at 70 mph. Can't wait to see what I get. I'm hoping for at least 38 mpg. Before buying the Ford, I did test drive some Volkswagens. I did not like the way they handled. I did seriously think about buying a diesel for the gas mileage, but again, I didn't enjoy driving them. Also, where I work, there are no convenient gas stations with diesel, so that's a disadvantage. I'm glad you finally got your car!! I'm really loving mine. I find the seat is fine on longer trips, I just put it on cruise and shift how I'm sitting. I do prefer the seats in the Focus and Fusion, but oh well. I have to say how happy I am to finally have a vehicle that hits all my natures. There's the one that loves a fun car to drive - zipping through traffic and speeding along. And then there's the one that is quite frugal and loves not spending money. :)

You can change how the page is laid out so you can view upcoming turns.

I think I had one. But I don't know where it went. I wonder if it ended up in the trash...

Um...where the heck is mine??????

I had no choice but to take a car with the sun/moon roof. I don't mind the extra light. However, being in Florida, if I forget to close the shade when I park, the car is even hotter when I get in at the end of the day. I am worried, in general, about the drain on mpg that running the air conditioning will have.

I asked my dealership to toss in tint for free. Living in Florida, it's a must. So, my windows are as dark as the law allows. I don't mind the white lines at all. Due to the heat of the sun and glare, I had the strip put on the front window shield. So even though I needed it, I am not happy that I had to do it. It honestly closes in the feel of the car a bit.

I was looking at using the assist handles, too. Not sure yet what I want to do. How much stuff do you need to store under the dash? Having the drinking cup in the console really helps hold things. A small change purse will also fit in there. There is a slot in the console that is completely hidden from view, and that's where I stash spare keys.

Yes, if you don't have heated seats, you will have a little cubby - I also use it for coins.

My light hasn't come back on, but I got my first "check fuel inlet" warning.
-
I was looking at ways to hang it from the ceiling. :) But settled on setting one of them alongside the passenger front seat against the door (upright) and the other one is in the cargo area.

Make sure you have the seat set at the proper height and distance from the pedals for your body. I find that though I like my seat to be high, it causes strain on my hip and back.
-
I did get used to the seats, but prefer the longer seats in the Focus and Fusion. I would like to see a readout of what speed I'm setting the cruise control for. I found that helpful in the Escape.

You guys are making me laugh. You don't live in Florida. An umbrella that fits in the door pocket will not help much in one of our deluges. Think more in terms of a Golf umbrella. It's very long and big.

I actually posted this in another thread. I swear, the car I test drove had different seats. I also have a lot of back, hip, pelvic injuries, so car seats are very important to me. The one I test drove felt more like the seats I've sat in while driving the Focus and Fusion. I love those seats. I thought when I agreed to buy this car, that I would get a seat like that. However, I swear, the seat in the car I purchased is more like the seat in my Escape. They are harder. However, I have noticed that I'm getting more comfortable in the seat, so it is possible that, either, I'm getting used to it, or the seat does break in. It also might be temperature related. My Windstar seats were hard in very cold weather, but soft in warm weather. The car I test drove was an SE, but it did not have the MFT. The car I bought is an SE, but it does have MFT. I know that there are some seats that have the soy filler. I wonder if they use a different seat for cars with the MFT than those without.

Driving home from work yesterday, the traffic was bumper to bumper on the highway. But the toll road was clear. (Usually the line to get on the toll road is over a mile long) Having just mounted the window sticker for the tolls the other day, I wanted to make sure it worked. So I hopped on the toll road. The speed limit is between 65 and 70 all the way home. Yikes! It caused me anxiety to see my average mpg quickly going down.

Oh, my umbrella won't fit back there! When we're in the midst of a deluge, we need our umbrellas as close at hand as we can get.

I haven't had much free time to enjoy putting my car together, so to speak. But I've been slowly working on where to store stuff. I honestly don't have many interesting ideas for the under-the-floor bins because they are not that convenient to get to. And I'm a bit stymied by what to do with my large umbrellas. I live in Florida and have need for both small and large umbrellas. I've been trying to find some interesting way to stash the umbrellas, and I don't like the photos I've seen of the umbrella holders that hook around the back of the front seats. I was on the Ford website looking at accessories, and I saw that they finally posted a photo of the inside of the front console and admitted that it is for a large bottle of liquid. I remember telling the sales people that the console was actually a cooler but Ford had not mentioned it in any of their write-ups. This information is under the Escape section - but the inside is pretty much the same as the C-Max. So if anyone is wondering what the console looks like (and they haven't received their C-Max yet), they can take a look. The description tells you how large of a bottle it holds. I still find that my original console solution works best for the C-Max - I bought a plastic drinking cup at Target that fits into the console and I use it to store napkins, small bottles, etc.

Hmmm...I could have sworn I saw that option in the car I test drove (three seat settings). But, since the Escape has been in the shop since Thanksgiving, I could have myself confused with one of the many rentals I was driving. I do remember that in the Flex I was driving (hated it), I could do that. I may be thinking about the SEL Escape they put me in.

Yesterday I sat in the car waiting for a break in speeding traffic so I could feed into the flow of cars. I finally got fed up with waiting and zipped out. I love the C-Max. It nurtures both my personalities - the one that wants a zippy little car and the one that hates to spend money on gas. I zipped home a little speedier than normal and only got 44 mpg. I'm planning a road trip at the end of the month. I can't wait.

I have a lot of damage in my hips and pelvic area. This makes getting in and out of cars very difficult. I loved my Escape seat because it was high enough off the ground that I could just slide in and out of the car (I have short legs) easily because the seat was the same height as my butt. :) The C-Max is lower. I do have to exert a bit more energy to get out of the car. But, getting in is easy. I was driving a Fusion for a short while, I would have to fall into the seat and then pull myself out. So, the C-Max is much better. A lot of this has to do with how high you place the seat while driving. Because I'm short, I can't place the seat as high as I want - my legs don't reach the pedals comfortably. Now, if you get the SEL, then you can program the seats to go to the placement you want. This might be a good idea.
