  1. My build date is September, so perhaps it will pop up in order by build date?
  2. My dealer called me because it popped up on their list. I had asked about the update last month. But the person who called me said she was given a list of people of to call for Cmax and Fusions.
  3. Very interesting. I hope this isn't a trend for us. In Orlando, we're approaching Crazy-Heavy-Deluge Rain season. I would hate to have car issues every time the road floods.
  4. I've got to say, I'm impressed with the mileage you all are getting. I know my commute to work is quite unpredictable, but my mileage is not as good as yours!
  5. I've got a good window tint and polarized sun glasses and the reflection/glare drives me batty.
  6. I've been thinking about trying premium as well. The summers here are brutal, and I want to give my car a treat. I generally can't afford the premium, but with the savings in gas by driving a hybrid, it might be worth it.
  7. Exactly what I'm doing. Unfortunately, the 140 bags of mulch wouldn't fit. However, I did need to load up the max with plants at the nursery and was happy to see how much it would hold. I need to get bricks for the borders, too, so I'm glad to see how the car can handle the weight. By the way, check out http://www.onlineplantguide.com/Plant-Details/1667/ . We use this stuff in the theme parks because it's mostly drought resistant. It's perfect for under your trees. However, it can take over if not watched carefully.
  8. I considered a diesel just for that reason. But it isn't always easy to find a gas station with diesel in Orlando. I know, crazy. But it's true. And, of course, I love my C-Max.
  9. 47.7 on the way home yesterday. :) Maybe, just maybe, this is the tank that hits an average of 43.
  10. I'm fortunate that my father sold his house and was able to buy me a car. If not, I would still be driving a gas-guzzling car. I live in a city without adequate buses, so there is no option for me but to drive an hour each way to work and back. Meanwhile, my salary goes down every year. How does that happen??? Every new job I take I get paid less. Anyway, the point is, it's tough out there. I want nothing more than to be released from the hold that oil companies have on us. But until the working class can afford new cars, it isn't going to happen. :(
  11. No matter how hard I try, I can't keep my average tank above 42. Oh well. It's still great mileage, and I get some terrific numbers on individual drives.
  12. I added the strip of tinting across the windscreen and it is really dark. I don't like it, but it has become a necessity. I'm 5'4", and my morning and afternoon commute put me directly in line with sun-at-an-angle. The visors are way too small to be of any help. I would prefer to not have that strip, but it has helped, for sure. (I'm in Orlando).
  13. This could be very true. But my plan is to have this car until the end of my natural life. :)
  14. It takes me about half my commute to find it. Then, inevitably, I hit traffic...

    MY VIEW

You're right. I tried the search engine and it didn't bring it up. I'm trying to remember what forum it was in...

    MY VIEW

There's an entire thread about just this topic.
  17. I'm sure I would be one of the ones to back my car into the river. I'm glad your mileage has improved. :)
  18. I believe the console is supposed to be used as a cooler, if you so desire. There is a circle at the bottom of the console that is perfect for holding a beverage bottle.
  19. I hear you! Not to do the TMI thing, but being menopausal has made it impossible for me to tolerate the heat. This afternoon I cycled the air on and off and it did pretty well. But we're having amazing weather right now, so there's no telling what I'll be able to tolerate during July and August.
  20. I was afraid something was wrong with the battery. Once you go so many miles with the car, you receive the ability to set up a "My View" screen. I think there are additional options once you have My View. I switched over to the view that lets me view what the battery is powering and was stunned to see how much the AC was costing me. I live in Florida where we run the AC most of the time. I used to set the temperature around 63 to 65 F. Now I run it around 73 to 75 F and my good mileage returned. Next, I'm going to work on cycling the air on and off. I have a long commute to work each day, so I have time to play with the car and mileage.
  21. Laurel, I recently posted the exact same issue. It seems to have been the air conditioning. I now run my air much higher (hotter) than I normally do. That's helped a lot.
  22. I've always slammed my car doors. I find it bizarre that others don't.
