  1. Thanks for letting us know. I bought the bulbs. I just haven't gotten around to changing them out. I will become more motivated, thanks to you.
  2. This hits a lot of important bases: Highway, warm-up, cold climate, air conditioning. These are some of the big issues that a lot of people have voiced. I think this is fantastic! :yahoo: :clapping: :woot: I also agree, it should bump up the FE about 2 mpg for a lot of drivers. To think that my original goal was to be satisfied with getting 40 mpg! Ah, if only a sudden announcement like this would come out about MFT! :stirpot:
  3. It's only a guess, but you should read the ICE High posts, and then try that while checking the efficiency. Right around 67-68 mph will do a lot better for you than 70. Again, it's just my guess. I am only working on my second tank, too. I am just starting highway testing on this tank.
  4. First waxing. Of course, it rained less than 24 hours later. Summer in Florida: that's the way it goes.
  5. I am kinda thinking that highway will be one of two speeds for me: either 55 or 67. So, I wanted to test out 55 first, since there aren't many places in my main travel area with 65+ mph speed limits.
  6. Most of it was 55, about a third was 65.
  7. I can't tell exactly what just happened, earlier today. I came very close to getting t-boned by a guy that must not have been paying attention to the light. I actually had to slam on my brakes. (Sorry, it all happened so fast that I didn't see my brake score.) I don't know if I heard the other guy skidding or if it was me. I was just leaving the light, only going probably about 10 mph or less when it happened. So, there wasn't enough travel to trigger the antilock brakes, but I did feel a strong brake "rubbing" sensation transmitting through the pedal. The guy sharply turned right, skidded around the corner, made the first turn down the block onto another street, and then took off. Maybe he was trying to lose me or something. He just disappeared. For all I know, he was just super aggressively driving, and he was intending to skid around the corner like that. He never even looked up and my car. He was just in his own world. Very strange, and very scary. To think that I just gave Maxie the first waxing not 24 hours before, and here I was, about have the car totaled.
  8. Pics? Do you keep getting your fingers in the material, and does that get on your fingers?
  9. Everything you all are saying is so true. This place has been so helpful and beneficial.
  10. Now that I have finished most of my local road testing, I happen to have some highway driving on my list. I made about an 80 mile trip, yesterday. I used Eco Cruise, and I set the speed at 56 mph. Surprisingly, I still managed to get 50.2 mpg for the round trip, which consisted of 80-90 percent highway driving. (Took some local roads to get to the highway, at each end of the trip.) What a car! :yahoo:
  11. I went for the all weather mats. Happy with that decision. I documented what I did while waiting for my new C-MAX to arrive, and the things that I did when I picked it up. Search for it. Maybe it will help.
  12. Yes, a rescue that I took in as a foster. This was my first foster, and of course, I immediately got weak and ended out keeping him. Now, he is my travel buddy. By next summer, we will go across the country in my C-MAX.
  13. Hmmm. Wasn't it you that made fun of my Chronicle of using the liftgate when I went to check my mail? Something about calling someone a :noobie: ?
  14. Right. I just have to guesstimate things like average speed, and highway versus city. Luckily, I mostly travel the same route.
  15. I am about to order these. I just added this. I have the doggie harness for the car. I keep it in the storage compartment below the floor, which is great!
  16. Other than in places like California, a lot of places have been slow to come to these kinds of ordinances. However, times are changing, and progress is happening, even in many of those places. When I recently parked at a Costco, there were a few FE and hybrid type cars parked next to mine. (A coincidence, as there are no charging stations or reserved for FE car parking spaces in their lot.) I happened to notice that they all had the same sticker. Seeing this sticker led to me find out that I exempt from paying certain tolls, and that I can ride in the HOV lanes for free. I never figured that Florida would have done anything like this. Just waiting for my new tags to arrive so that I can take the paperwork to the tag agency.
  17. The CanvasBack will stay permanently attached to the back of the seat, if you prefer it that way. With the CB in place, you can still open and close the back seat, yet it covers to the edge of the carpeting on the back of the seat. Complete coverage. Very pleased with the final result.
