  1. Gee, that's just terrible. :) Only 45.8. So sad.
  2. It would be great it they could make it so that it could either heat, cool, or be off. Choices are a great thing! I have the heated seats, here in Miami Beach, Florida. I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of that feature. :nonono: No choice: Just like the other things I didn't particularly want or need, I had to get them to get the ones I really want. (At least I can still get the ones that I want.)
  3. Jus, that is great to hear. This is why I don't worry so much about most of the issues that have come up (MFT, lift gate, battery, GPS, NAV). Ford seems to be working on them, fixing them, and narrowing down the issues.
  4. Budget rents them. You have to arrange for it; you likely won't just find one at the agency. You have to call the local rental, explain that you want to rent to test drive one, and let them know that you need that exact car--not that or similar. Let them know that you are flexible for dates, so that they can get one to your local agency. My 24 hour test drive was the final convincer for me.
  5. I live in Foreclosure Central: South Florida. Yet, nobody learned anything. There are bidding wars in certain property sectors . . . again. People are paying in excess of appraised value . . . again. We went from 2 years of inventory to shortages (in certain property types). There is a building on one side of the street that has all bank owned (REO) foreclosed properties, and a developer is going full ahead with new construction of another project just across the street from the first building. It is just a matter of time before everything is back almost as it was. (BTW, former wholesale account executive for companies like Greenpoint, Option One. I am out of the biz since the crash, a sort of forced early retirement. Now, I am a dive bum!) Now, back to your thread, and sorry for my participation in the hijack.
  6. My car hasn't arrived at the dealer yet, having a build date of April 29. ETA of around May 12. How can I check to see if it this has been done in mine?
  7. I start worrying when a fix comes out, and the problem still goes on, or when a company doesn't care enough to work on known issues. So far, it sounds like the MFT issues are getting resolved (though they should try to reward their existing customers promptly); the lift gate issues are acknowledged and are in the works; Nav issues are getting done. Sure, I'd love for everything to be perfect, from day one. Really, it should be that way. But, sometimes, to be on the leading edge of new technology, there will be some ramp up to the time where the few issues that arise get resolved. We'll see how bright-eyed I remain when I take delivery of my C-Max. Only twelve days to go! Good luck with the issue, Adair. I hope it gets done quickly for you.
  8. Gutsy move. Congratulations! I know how nervous you were about going for it. :hi5:
  9. I was thinking the same way. I went with Oxford White rather than the metal flake tricoat, which would have cost extra. I also figured that it would be easier and cheaper to get touched up.
  10. Nav, and I even sprung for the Panoramic Roof. Psyched!
  11. Put me on the list for this one. I still can't believe that they didn't put LEDs on the first model release.
  12. Ordered March 28. Build date is April 29. My dealer gives an ETA of May 13. I got my VIN! :yahoo:
  13. Adair, would you please confirm the version. I am guessing that you are not 3.5.1.
  14. I think that, even if I end out having to completely recarpet my C-MAX, it will be worth it to get that stupid footrest out. I just want to know that I can take the dead pedal out before undertaking such an experiment. If anybody happens to be pulling up his/her carpet, please post photos of that dead pedal.
  15. I rented one from Budget. You need to arrange for them to get a C-MAX moved to your local agency. It's not like they have several at each rental location. I rented for 24 hours to give a good test drive before buying. It was even an SEL with a glass roof. Only thing not activated was NAV.
  16. So, this means you took delivery just over seven weeks from date of order. Is that the kind of time frame I should expect? I have a VIN, and I was told--about two weeks ago--to expect delivery by about mid-May. I ordered an SEL with glass on March 28. Looking for any encouraging signs of optimistic delivery dates! :waiting:
  17. They make a mirror mount that looks pretty stable. This is the first time I am trying it. Looks like it will fit just right. I wish my C-MAX were here already! Three weeks to go! :yahoo:
  18. Someone recently posted about installing a new power mirror, and showed photos of the wire leads. Search for it. Oh, and please post pics of how you did it. I am about three weeks from delivery of my SEL, and I already have my hardwire kit ready to go for installation of my Escort on the mirror.
  19. It allows intranet communication between devices that are in the car. You don't get that from using a phone for tethering, I believe.
  20. I'd be willing to take it to a carpet expert to make the fix. I just want someone to be brave enough to actually see what is under the pedal base, just to make sure that it would work from the standpoint of under the carpet. Maybe there is a big anchor pin coming from the floor that can't be removed, etc.
  21. The last link shows the crash results in detail. To see, watch or fast forward past the pre-test shots. Hopefully, nobody will have to find out from personal experience. After all, they say that hybrid drivers are less aggressive with driving. Of course, we just have to avoid everyone else on the road! :shift: Is the C-Max rated yet? I thought that it was not yet rated.
  22. Create an options package for a loaded SEL with cloth seats LED headlights paired with the steering wheel Fix that funky driver footrest and carpet!
  23. From what I hear, the trend is toward letting the smartphones control more, while the screen in the car becomes more like a monitor. Who knows how long it will be before car designers will adopt this. I am a technical scuba instructor (Closed Circuit Rebreathers). My main life support equipment is made by a scuba manufacturer that was smart enough to partner up with a top dive computer manufacturer, rather than developing a control unit computer on its own. Car manufacturers would likely benefit by following a similar model.
  24. Could you maybe post a pic, and explain how it happened?
