That one I understood. It's the other one that MikeB mentioned. I'll have to start playing around to see which does which.

I referred to this sound in the thread about silent approach to pedestrians. Mine does this, too. I don't think that it does it after shutdown; it only does this when I am on EV. I thought it was related to the air conditioner. However, if yours is off, I would guess that it is not. :headscratch:

I finally needed to place an Amazon order for something big enough that I could throw the following in: Tire Pressure Gauge for the glove box holder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SQYTG/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1LEDs for the puddle lights: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008KP7MIA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1LEDs for the license plate: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0064O0NB2/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1Coin holder for the console shelf: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001XPC7C/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Down the line, I may opt for the cigarette lighter plug battery jump. If anybody gets a good one, please post the link. I haven't installed anything yet. The order just shipped. I just hope I can get the guts up to start pulling things apart to make these nice little upgrades. Keep 'em coming!

Order to Delivery Time Thread
ScubaDadMiami replied to ScooterS's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
Most people are reporting about eight weeks or so, lately. This sounds like it is way after the norm. My car got to my dealer right around the same time as yours. In one day, they not only prepped the vehicle, but had tinting installed and gave 24 hours for it to lock into place. Maybe it's their first C-MAX, and they are taking some extra time for this first one? I hope you get yours right away! I'm sure that this makes it even harder to wait! -
No. I mean that the light that is above the driver's door has four buttons on it. I don't get the combination of which button does what, and which lights will go on or off.

I am at less than a week of ownership, but I have been playing with the challenge from the start. Although South Florida is mostly flat, I live on an island that is connected to the mainland via causeways that can have fairly high arching bridges with flat spots between, and then this ultimately dumps onto a series of ramps and inclines for most of the rest of my almost daily drive. I made the drive twice, once via a more flat but traffic intensive route, and once via the route that goes through the higher bridges and ramps.. Now, it could be due to the fact that I don't yet know the proper technique for bigger hills, but I had a significant decrease in FE going the more hilly but continuous movement route versus the longer but flatter route that had tail end rush hour stop and go. I still have some other combinations that I will check. My vote would be that flatter is better, for sure.

Here's what the OM says: INTERIOR LAMPS The lamps will switch on when one of the following conditions have been met: • You open any door. • You press a remote control button. • You press switch D on the front interior lamp. Note: Press switch C on the front interior lamp to switch the courtesy and door illumination function off when you open any door. The indicator lamp will illuminate yellow when the door function is off. When the door function is off and you open a door, the courtesy and door lamps will stay off. Press switch C again to switch them back on. The indicator lamp will illuminate blue when the door function is on. When the door function is on and you open a door, the courtesy and door lamps will switch on. I still don't quite get this, and how it lines up with the buttons over the driver's door. Who's the expert?

I intend to use the little extra juice to open the windows, start the A/C and cool off my awaiting C-MAX. Hey, it's an extra gift of battery, and I intend to use it all for my own selfish wants! :hysterical:

I think I understand, but I am not sure. Do you mean two segments of ICE on the graph? Miami Beach is an island. So, I have to deal with crossing a causeway with arching bridges, daily. I haven't really developed a good feel for ICE efficiency (though I think I am getting pretty good at EV). Not sure if higher RPMs equals faster charging per fuel spent, how much I should let speed drop per incline grade and distance of rise, etc.. I've been mostly playing it easy, but when I am going to climb the bridge with a low battery, and ICE will be on anyway, I am trying to figure out whether I should be a little more or less aggressive during the climbing phase. So far, no matter what I do, it all seems bad; it's just a question of which is worse. About the only thing that is working is for me to get into EV before reaching the top of the hill, allowing me to stretch out EV on the downside. Thanks for passing this along.

Wow, for all the backlog on deliveries, they sure have picked up the pace! How exciting, a big trip right away. We all know that you'll be enjoying the ride!

The weather has been so bad the last couple of days: overcast, rainy and with gusty winds. So, I really haven't had the chance to test the benefit of the tinting yet. Well, I just couldn't help myself. When I left work today, I used the fob to open the windows, run the air conditioning, and start up. So, I may never find out just how much the tinting makes a difference, if I keep this up! :woot:

Unless you are talking about the "+," in particular. The C-MAX has a GPS that learns your destinations. Once it learns the ones that you go to over and over, such as your home, it will run the last part of the trip in EV. You can expedite this learning process for a location by turning the C-MAX on and turning it off eleven times, if I remember correctly, at that location.

My C-MAX isn't what I would call silent when running on the battery. There is a low kind of unpleasant sounding humming or groaning kind of sound. I don't hear it when I'm inside, unless I have the window open. So, it's not really loud, but it is definitely there. In fact, when I dropped by my family's home to show them the new arrival, I commented that I would silently pull away on EV as my parting demo. So, I had the window open, and I started up. I heard it, and I even remember my sister-in-law commenting something about it not being so silent. It isn't that bad, but it is not what I would call a pleasant kind of sound.

I thought that I saw a My Apps link on the Ford site, or was it on MFT? (So much learning that it is getting all turned around in my head.) Does that ring a bell? I thought that it would be a MFT addition to Entertainment, where we could directly access it as we do Sirius. Does this sound familiar at all, or was I losing touch with reality yet again?

So far, I just leave things set as they were when I shut down. The only thing I am adjusting up or down is the fan. No problems, so far.

Did Ford Tweak the Computer? (or is it just the weather)
ScubaDadMiami replied to Riddley's topic in Fuel Mileage
Same here today. Very windy and rainy. Still averaged 45+, but I was up to 48 yesterday (which was also windy). -
Yeah, part of me wants to let friends drive to test mine out, but the other part thinks about what that will do to my Lifetime Average! :hysterical:

I think that a lot of these little functions depend on the phone. I have a Galaxy Note 2/Android OS phone. So far, it paired with no problem, and it seems to be updating Synch my contacts after I synch my phone with my home PC. It recognized the sender of the text from the synched contact list. I think I saw a post about someone with an iPhone being able to send a response to texts. My options are Read, Call, Delete. I don't see one that says Reply. Also, as some have mentioned about using USB, while I am using Bluetooth, it seems that I can arrive at a destination, shut down, get out, and it will resume when I get back to the car. I have to test this again to make sure that this is correct. On the down side, no album cover graphics come across to MFT. Checking some posts about this subject, I tried plugging my Note into the USB port instead of streaming via Bluetooth, but I got a message saying that the device wasn't recognized. Bummer about the lack of album graphics coming across. Also, I have not had any luck using voice commands to control the phone app. Not sure if that is me, the phone, or, more likely, MFT. At least I am able to skip songs using the steering wheel control. If they ever add Spotify, which is on the list of apps coming to MFT, that will make a lot of this issue go away, because I can just listen directly, and the graphics will likely be there, too.
