  1. Yup, temp really effects the efficiency of our cars. I relished the Summer when I could max out the range and mileage. Now that I drive a Fusion Energi temp still is critical as the battery is much less efficient in the cold. Enjoy the Gas Pods, it seems to be an improvement for those who use them. Peace, Father Bill
  2. Jus, I keep up with the board because my folks have (and love) their C-Max. I must say I do miss the cargo space of the C-max but not the 12 voltanitis. I am getting such great mileage with my Fusion Energi I don't think I will need any mods to keep getting them. I may even give my Gas Pods to the folks to help them get better mileage.
  3. Love the pictures Matt! If I still had my C-Max, I would be driving up to Northern IL, to pay you to create a set of those covers! I suspect you might be getting requests from these wonderful Pics.
  4. That is exactly what I did (albeit the Fusion variety) and I am loving EVery (get it EV ery  ) mile since I made the switch. Peace, Fr. Bill
  5. Since I got an Energi I was at 999.99MPG because I was always on EV. I switched to MPGe so I could get a relatively accurate accounting for mileage. My current tank of Gas is at 145.3 MPGe while the lifetime of the car is 105 MPGe ( I don't know who was driving the car at the dealership but those first 32 miles were horrible in MPG.) It is useful to me now that I have the Energi, when I had the hybrid it made sense to use MPG as I was always using the ICE for charging the hybrid battery. Just my 2 cents. Peace, Fr. Bill
  6. Yeah, that is only for Energi (C-Max or Fusion). They have a built in 3g cell connection that allows them to communicate with Ford, who then passes that information onto the owner via My Ford Mobile. Peace, Fr. Bill
  7. Carpe, Did you make this image, and if you did could make one with the an iOS logo. I think this image is tremendous! Thanks in advance if you can do it. Peace, Fr. Bill
  8. I have read that if the battery is seriously depleted, even though you have it set for value charging it will charge immediately. I have a Fusion Energi so I suspect it is similar if not exactly the same as the C-max. I think I read if it was at 10% it will charge regardless of profile. Hope this helps! Peace, Fr. Bill
  9. 12 voltanitis, The 12 volt system of the car was consistently failing. I was late a number of times because of this and I needed a more reliable vehicle. I love the C-max but I got one of those that had un-solvable 12 volt problems. Peace, Father Bill
  10. I have 2 Pro Clip Mounts for sale. I used them in my C-Max which has recently gone back to Ford. They are looking for a good home. I used one to hold my Garmin GPS and one to hold my iPhone 5. I paid thirty for each and will sell them for $15 a piece, $30 for the set or best offer. You can see what the mounts look like here: http://www.proclipusa.com/dashboard-mounts/vehicle/ford/c-max/2013.cmsv Thanks for looking PM me if you are interested. Peace, Father Bill
  11. Jus, I moved over to the Fusion Energi platform but I use the same skills I used in the C-max. I have been able to stretch the EV range to almost 32 miles in town. Never accelerate over 2 bars, P&G and long regen braking runs, all this I learned from you in your quest for 8-- miles. Now my quest is to never use the Hybrid Mode of my Energi(Not realistic but a guy has to have goals  ) If not for a need to get back from St. Louis on Friday afternoons by 1pm I could almost do it. Peace, Father Bill
  12. Um, WOW! Congrats Foto! :yahoo: :hat_tip:
  13. When I had the "No Signal" box I did a sync master reset. I think you find it in settings off the my touch home screen. I don't have the patience of Laurel, I needed everything working right now! :baby: The master reset did the trick and got everything back in normal operation. If waiting a day doesn't work then try the master reset. Peace, Father Bill
  14. Used as part of a downpayment on my Ford Fusion Energi :flirt:
  15. I was so impressed with the data Jus was developing that I ordered the Gas Pods for my C-Max. Unfortunately it decided to have 12 voltanitis and I called it quits before I could test out the pods. I am using them on my Energi now but will probably pass them on to my parents for their C-Max. Peace, Father Bill
  16. My Dealer has 4 C-Max's sitting on they lot right now. I am not sure what they are but they had been selling any C-Max as soon as they hit the lot.
  17. It was a very generous trade. I only lost about 4k (the Tax Credit).
  18. Well I have to say that after many visits to the dealer for the 12 volt system I have decided to call it quits with this C-Max. My parents still love theirs and I will keep up with things here to help them out with their C-Max. I got a Fusion Energi in the same color and basically the same equipment as my C-Max. The F-150 got 12mpg it was hard to swallow. Thankfully Enterprise didn't charge me for the gas as i only had it 18 hours. So far the Fusion beats my expectations, and the fact that there is a community charging station (FREE) behind the school I am Chaplain at makes even more sense. I will be able to stay in EV for most days. The C-Max is a great car unless you get the 12 volt problems. Even then I finished with a cumulative Lifetime MPG of 50.8 and Lifetime Brake Score of 98%. I just couldn't afford to be late or miss an obligation because my Car wouldn't start. After a dozen episodes I just had to call it quits. Still love Ford and with the Tax Credit I am coming out even in the trade. Peace, Father Bill
  19. After many issues with the 12 volt system in my C-Max, I traded yesterday for a Fusion Energi. It has everything my SEL had except for Keyless Start. I have a Community Charge Station at the City Hall behind the school I am Chaplain at. I will be able to stay in EV mode for all by my longest trips. I expect that my Gas consumption is going to take another great leap downward. I will still keep up with the C-Max crowd as my Parents still have theirs. I will miss the space of the C-Max but what I lost there is compensated by the better aerodynamics of the Fusion. I made the leap to an Energi but on a different platform. The $4007 tax credit made this possible. Peace. Father Bill
  20. They have had Sterling overnight and were very generous in giving me a complimentary rental. They called last evening to say that the battery failed and was replaced. They had some other odds and ends that they are working on today. I hope to get the car back this afternoon. They gave me an F-150 as the rental, what a difference! I really want my Car back. I will update as to the full work-up when I pick the car up.
  21. I have a C-Max SEL, the battery has died multiple times after the supposed fix. I will be taking it in on Monday for the third time, Only hope that it will not be unending.
  22. If i did the math right ( um if google did the math right ;) ) 4.0L to 100 kilometers is 60 mpg. Is that with the tires on?
