Recommended Dealers for Purchasing and Servicing a C-Max
darrelld replied to darrelld's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Edited post to reflect region of dealer. -
Please post your experiences with a dealer you would recommend for buying and servicing a C-Max. So far I have had excellent experience with Bankston Ford of Frisco, Texas. Dropped my C-Max off today and promptly was given a loaner. BobTomes Ford of McKinney, Texas I cannot recommend. Tried to schedule service at BobTomes Ford of McKinney today to resolve my C-Max Check Engine light. Explained that I needed a loaner and they told me they do not give loaners without an extended warranty and hung up on me. Very rude.

I am in the shop for the second time for Check Fuel Filler Inlet / Check Engine Light, so hopefully yours will not have that problem on delivery.

I tried suggestions listed in the manual but it was to no effect. Have an appointment set up with Tomes in McKinney for Saturday.

My check fuel filler inlet / check engine messages have returned. Anyone have to make a second visit for this problem?

I can appreciate your frustration but the C-Max has more mass to move than any other hybrid besides something in the Camry, Lexus 400h, and Sonata class of vehicle. One of my coworkers owns a Civic Hybrid and recently had to fight with Honda for a battery replacement because her mileage dropped so low it was compatible to a regular Civic. She stopped driving it during the summer because with the battery problems the AC wouldn't cool.

http://green.autoblog.com/2013/01/07/december-2012-alt-fuel-vehicle-sales/ Among automakers, Ford showed the largest advances, more than tripling its December alt-fuel total from a year earlier to 8,124 vehicles and thus becoming the second-largest seller (behind Toyota) of hybrids and plug-ins in the US. The Ford C-Max Hybrid, which was introduced in September, continues to be the US automaker's largest alt-fuel seller, with 3,339 units sold last month. The Fusion Hybrid was close behind at 3,244 vehicles, or more than triple year-earlier numbers for that model. Ford's C-Max Energi Plug-in Hybrid sold 971 units, which was down almost 300 from November, while the Focus Electric sold a monthly-record 167 units.

I have been known to indulge in a few Heineken or Samuel Adams occasionally.

;) Rhetorical question related to how all hybrids are known to perform in cold weather. Additionally you cannot rationally compare different size classes of vehicles and expect similar fuel economy.

Have you ever owned or driven a hybrid before?

I read this article today and the whole story seems contrived. How many people would walk into a dealer with no prior knowledge and buy a C-Max Energi Plugin Hybrid? I started to respond to the article by saying "We have this thing now called YOUTUBE that has all kinds of information about the C-Max Energi." I understand the point of the article but I have run into sales people without a clue about most of the cars I have purchased. The only exceptions would be the VW and Subaru salespersons, they know the products well and their customers expect them to.

Noticed a Red SE model on Parker and Alma today in Plano around lunch.

When you sit in a Camry or Prius the door with supporting structure feels cheap. I was surprised at how solid and heavy the doors were in my C-Max during my first test drive. My Passat also earned the new TSP+ rating from IIHS and the doors have a solid feel similar to the C-Max.
