  1. The Google threat analysis data indicates their host was infected so the entire net range gets flagged as malicious. Google Chrome on OSX does not report this error.
  2. I can open from my iPhone ok? https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sophos-security-threat-monitor/id376343895?mt=8 Sophos reports no problems with this site?
  3. I get the error in Firefox from my Macbook.
  4. Everyone expects real world for EPA tests, the only way to accomplish that is simulating real world conditions. My TDI will only vary about 2-3 mpg under the conditions I described.
  5. This has happened to me at least 3 times now and I did not cycle the power or change the shift position. I simply wait for a second or two and the vehicle will engage on its own.
  6. Thats exactly what they need with the AC on. Then with hybrids run another test with temps in the 30's and the cabin climate set to 70 degrees.
  7. http://www.treehugger.com/cars/fords-mpg-numbers-fusion-and-c-max-hybrids-be-scrutinized-epa.html Gap Between Theory and Reality? Consumer advocate par excellence Consumer Reports has recently published a piece on the difference between official EPA fuel economy numbers and real-world testing numbers for a variety of hybrids. Most models proved to perform a bit worse in CR's tests than in the EPA's, but the Ford C-MAX hybrid and Ford Fusion hybrid topped the list with gaps of 10 and 8 MPGs. Apparently this was enough to raise concerns at the EPA: "The Environmental Protection Agency said Saturday it will review claims that two new Ford Motor Co. vehicles aren't getting the advertised 47 miles per gallon." People familiar with the recent Hyundai controversy might think that something similar took place at Ford, but that's not necessarily the case. Both the C-MAX and Fusion hybrids can reach pretty high speeds in pure EV mode (62 mph), and this can have a bigger effect on the tightly controlled EPA methodology than on real world driving, resulting in that MPG gap. That might not be a big relief to owners of these models who drive in the real world, but at least there's no evidence so far that Ford inflated MPG numbers intentionally.
  8. http://www.examiner.com/article/ford-s-c-max-energi-granted-access-to-long-island-expressway-carpool-lane NEW YORK --- Ford Motor Co. has announced that the forthcoming C-Max Energi mid-size plug-in hybrid vehicle will be allowed to use the carpool lane on the Long Island Expressway. The approval, which covers the entire 40-mile length of the expressway, has been granted by Clean Pass, a state agency which promotes the use of fuel-efficient vehicles. To qualify for approval, a vehicle must be classified as a super ultra-low emissions vehicle and must be certified by the Environmental Protection Agency to achieve fuel efficiency of 45 mpg on the highway. According to Ford, the C-Max Energi, which will be in production by the end of the year, has a top electric-only speed of 85 miles per hour and can travel up to 21 miles on battery power alone. Its total gas/electric range is estimated
  9. Helpful to the engineers no doubt, I am sure you have seen Who Killed the Electic Car part I and II?
  10. The thermal load when charging is what I will observe. There is no battery life monitor like the Leaf but owners would notice reduced range as an early warning sign. May trade up in a couple of years if the reports look good.
  11. There are 43 C-Max's according to cars.com in the DFW metroplex, we have a population of 6.5 million.
  12. Usually I just roll down to the Thrift Shop in my Prius.
  13. Strange reaction from Fuelly since they list the Prius Plug-in as a different model from the Prius? http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/prius plug-in You should call them out on that. Maybe they would agree to list a C-Max Plug-in?
  14. You some great options there for filling up your electron tank. We had a Jetta TDI that we traded for the C-Max. We also had 2001 Z28 Camaro purchased new. We seriously debated the Energi but wanted to wait and see how the early adopters faired in 110+ degree climates. I have a post on here for thermal properties and temperature relationships.
  15. Depends upon your zip code, my area still shows 1,000 incentive for the C-Max but nothing for the Energi.
  16. I would ask the dealer if they load tested the battery? If it happens again they can't blame it on a bad battery the second trip.
  17. Since the traction motors are AC Synchronous does the Energi have a different Variable Frequency drive converting the DC from the traction battery to AC?
  18. Jump starting is covered on page 255 of the manual. I leave cell phones and iPods plugged in all the time without a problem. There is definitely something wrong and you are not the first person to report a dead battery.
  19. Temps dropped into the 20's and my mpg took a 8 mpg hit driving the same route. Just as I expected from a hybrid. My TDI might drop 1 mpg under these temp variations. My Passat TDI is EPA rated at 30 mpg city and I usually get 38, thats an 8 mpg difference in EPA number? Why no big media outcry over the EPAs unfair testing process with diesels? An error in calculation is an error regardless of what direction it takes on the number line.
  20. I posted a question to Consumer Reports asking for the ambient temperatures they used when conducting the various hybrid mpg tests. So far they have not responded. I will post something here (if)when I get an answer.
