  1. Wheel bearings, hope it's not the transmission.
  2. I suggest... Just fully charge the battery first. Jumping the battery and short drives don't last if the battery was dead. After fully charging if you are still having problems take it to a battery place and have them test the battery, usually no charge for this. Then if the test shows the battery is bad replace it.
  3. Do you have the sync app installed on your phone? check the prefs in sync app. Are you running IOS beta software on the phone? I think 3.10 is the latest version of sync for your car.
  4. I guess I would suspect the wiring harness. What was the harness for? Would check voltage on the 12V battery. Maybe something is drawing down the 12v and the DC-DC is trying to keep the 12V charged which is draining the high voltage battery.
  5. What year/model c-max do you have? If it is 2013-2015 then you can also consider upgrading to sync 3.
  6. Yes those are the same ones I bought. Just looked here.
  7. I’ve seen them for sale on eBay. Compare that with online Ford parts dealer.
  8. Short drives won't fully charge the battery. Stick a battery charger on it and charge it fully. See how that goes before changing anything.
  9. Lots of old data on this forum going back to 2012 when the c-max came out. Suggest you do a search for the cv boot problem before laying out $$ for that one.
  10. Tire noise can be bad on c-max. Finding a mechanic you can trust is key. How many miles does the car have on it?
  11. My daughter's c-max had a dead battery when she accidentally left headlights on one night. She kept jumping the battery and it would only last a couple days. We put a charger on it and charged it to 100% and no issues now for a couple months. Her battery was so low initially that the radio wouldn't even work.
  12. Depends on the failure mode. If the pack goes lower and lower as time goes on it should still work fine on gas with shorter and shorter distances on battery. Also some people have the energi model and for various reasons never bother to charge the battery. It will still run fine as gas only. Not as efficient as the hybrid but still good mpg's. What is wrong with your battery pack?
  13. It might be helpful to post a picture of your display on the dash.
  14. My daughter's c-max had a dead battery because she accidentally turned on the lights with her knee when she got out of the car. She had a portable jump pak and was able to start the car and drive it a couple days and then had to jump it again. Also the radio stopped working. I put my charger on the 12v battery and fully charged it. No more issues and the radio is woking again. Her short trips just weren't charging the battery enough. On a side note when I got out of my Mach-E a couple days ago my knee kit the light switch and turned the lights on. The car started dinging and alerted me to the lights being on. So I can see how that can happen.
  15. For me it would't be worth it even if you doubled the range to 20 miles. I would get an escape PHEV (39mile range) or an EV if you don't take frequent long trips. I did buy a Mach-E standard range EV last year after I sold my c-max.
  16. It's normal for there to be more noise when the engine turns on vs running on the battery only. You can post a recording here of the noise if you think it's a problem.
  17. 8 miles seems a little low for 34k miles on the car. Maybe there is a problem with the battery pack. I would get it diagnosed before getting it replaced. Or just drive it as is, a new battery would not add a lot of value.
  18. May be able to charge overnight at motel otherwise no worries.
  19. Sounds about normal. My son has a 2016 c-max Energi with about 75k miles and he said he gets about 10 miles on the battery. Car should still get about 40mpg on long trips if you don't drive too fast. Will do better in the warmer weather. Winter is hard on hybrid & EV's.
  20. Wouldn't think so unless lack of coolant killed the inverter and it shorted out the main battery. Is the inverter still functional?
  21. You can I believe reset the Lifetime numbers. I think I did that when I first got my 2013 Hybrid.
  22. Only issues I could come up with is your mpg's will go down some if you stick with the winter tires and wear out sooner. I found Costco has the best price when I replaced the oem Michelin's.
