  1. Mine came with brackets and hardware installed on both ends, I suspect the dealer installs that because I removed their ad from the brackets. If you bought if from a dealer try taking it back asking for the brackets and hardware.
  2. Here is one that lets you use the 8" screen and add additional cameras , even allows watching videos during driving. Expensive and you also need to add the camera. https://www.coastaletech.com/cmaxlockpick.htm
  3. Here is a link that shows the c-max mpg vs speed, also shows the prius.
  4. Does EV+ get you all the way to the top of the hill coming home?
  5. I believe that is the instantaneous fuel option symbol.
  6. I drove my F350 1ton Truck this week which a V10 gas engine that gets about 10mpg and I was laughing because I was trying to pulse and glide and regen when braking. It just didn't help my mpg at all.
  7. Did the reflash reset your lifetime mpg? That could account for the sudden increase in mpg.
  8. Wow more than half of your miles are ev, are you sure your not plugging your car in at night? :)
  9. I used eco cruise most of the time and I did up my tire pressure to 45 prior to the trip and used oregon's regular e10 gas. Bought the car here --> http://www.courtesyford.com, good experence buying there bought my last 2 fords there. No pressure from the finance guy. Haven't used the service department there as we live on the west side of town. They give one free oil change.
  10. Yes, very pleased with my cmax's performance, exceeded my expectations. Expect it will exceed epa ratings once its fully broke in whenever that is.
  11. Took my first trip from Portland OR area to Bellevue WA. Only had 720 miles of in town driving on cmax at the start of the trip with lifetime mpg of 42. Was expecting my lifetime to go down due to higher speed driving but that was wrong, mpg kept climbing the entire trip. Roundtrip was 459.1 miles. Drove 60 - 68 MPH for most of the trip. Got an even 45.0 mpg for the trip. Ending odometer was at 1179.6 miles. Lifetime ended up at 43.7mpg.
  12. I think you just figured out the accelerated breakin procedure. In the 1960's my dad worked at a Dodge dealership in AZ and when someone would bring back their new car that was burning oil because the owner had been babying the car, he would take the car on the hiway and put it in low gear and go as fast he dared go until the rings would seat in the cylinders.
  13. Wow , maybe Ford will make a commercial c-max van with all the seats in back taken out!
  14. Saw this C-Max customer review on yahoo, makes we wonder if there is a problem with some of the c-max cars getting low mpg. Yahoo review
  15. Is the ev plus the only use for the GPS if you don't have Nav?
  16. That is how a normal cruise control works, but this one switches between ev and ICE too.
  17. There may be one built into the car, eco cruise sure seems to know when you are going up or down hills.
  18. I set mine for 72 on my side and my wife sets hers to 70, this is in northwest Oregon.
  19. Wondering if the reduced friction from 100% synthetic would prolong engine breakin. Are folks who did this seeing improved mpg right away? What are others thoughts on this?
  20. On my test drives I drove a prius v then a honda fit and lastly a c-max sel hybrid. The c-max was definitely way ahead of the pack in terms of performance. But I had been reading about people getting mid or low 30's for mpg so I decided I better go with the prius v or fit even though I didn't like them as much since driving the c-max. After struggling with this several days I noticed the ford dealer where I bought my last ford had a loaded used 2012 prius v and a ruby red c-max sel so I decided to give the c-max one more try and if it failed my test I would buy the prius that they had. I decided if the c-max wouldn't give at least 42mpg on my test drive I didn't want it. Zeroed out the trip meter for my test drive and started with city driving, after several miles for city driving the mpg went up to 48mpg. Then got on the freeway and drove several miles back to the dealership when we got back the trip mpg was at 43mpg for the test drive. Then the salesman started demonstrating the climate controls and when he got to the part where you can control the temperature differently on both sides of the car my wife says "Sold". We never even drove the prius v. Some woman had traded in a 2012 prius v with 3000 miles for a c-max. We have been happy with our decision so far.
  21. Funny Audi commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPkByAkAdZs
  22. Don't know if such a thing exists but it shouldn't be too difficult to make and the nice thing about it you wouldn't have to modify the car and void the warrenty.
  23. Watch out for doggie tails if you have the rear hatch auto open option. :)
  24. This happened to me when we were buying the c-max. Took the car on the test drive and parked it next to our old car then went into the dealership to do the paperwork. Went outside about an hour later to get my insurance card and I heard the car engine running. Don't remember any honk warning when we got out of the car and both fobs were inside the dealership.
  25. Saw this in the C-Max manual on page 148 about Max A/C, this surprised me... E. MAX A/C: Press to distribute maximum air conditioning through the instrument panel air vents. This mode is more economical and efficient than normal air conditioning.
