That is how a normal cruise control works, but this one switches between ev and ICE too.

There may be one built into the car, eco cruise sure seems to know when you are going up or down hills.

I set mine for 72 on my side and my wife sets hers to 70, this is in northwest Oregon.

Wondering if the reduced friction from 100% synthetic would prolong engine breakin. Are folks who did this seeing improved mpg right away? What are others thoughts on this?

On my test drives I drove a prius v then a honda fit and lastly a c-max sel hybrid. The c-max was definitely way ahead of the pack in terms of performance. But I had been reading about people getting mid or low 30's for mpg so I decided I better go with the prius v or fit even though I didn't like them as much since driving the c-max. After struggling with this several days I noticed the ford dealer where I bought my last ford had a loaded used 2012 prius v and a ruby red c-max sel so I decided to give the c-max one more try and if it failed my test I would buy the prius that they had. I decided if the c-max wouldn't give at least 42mpg on my test drive I didn't want it. Zeroed out the trip meter for my test drive and started with city driving, after several miles for city driving the mpg went up to 48mpg. Then got on the freeway and drove several miles back to the dealership when we got back the trip mpg was at 43mpg for the test drive. Then the salesman started demonstrating the climate controls and when he got to the part where you can control the temperature differently on both sides of the car my wife says "Sold". We never even drove the prius v. Some woman had traded in a 2012 prius v with 3000 miles for a c-max. We have been happy with our decision so far.

Don't know if such a thing exists but it shouldn't be too difficult to make and the nice thing about it you wouldn't have to modify the car and void the warrenty.

Watch out for doggie tails if you have the rear hatch auto open option. :)

This happened to me when we were buying the c-max. Took the car on the test drive and parked it next to our old car then went into the dealership to do the paperwork. Went outside about an hour later to get my insurance card and I heard the car engine running. Don't remember any honk warning when we got out of the car and both fobs were inside the dealership.

Saw this in the C-Max manual on page 148 about Max A/C, this surprised me... E. MAX A/C: Press to distribute maximum air conditioning through the instrument panel air vents. This mode is more economical and efficient than normal air conditioning.

When you get home pull into the garage and drive the front wheels onto a electric powered dyno, turn the dyno on to spin the front wheels and press the brake until the battery is charged. :)

Anyone know why the ford.com site specifies p225/55r17 for the c-max tires but c-max have p225/50r17 installed? Did they change to a different tire at some point?

Therapy (for when your C-MAX is acting up)

I feel sorry for the poor dummy that had to drive the car. -
Is the lifetime screen updated with the results of the last drive cycle at the end of the drive or at the beginning of the next drive?

Like my new c-max a lot but ... I would also like the gearshift lighting. Fix voice recognition so it works. Allow faster acceleration in EV mode. Lumbar support adjustment in passenger seat. I have the std stereo for SEL and the volume control is too sensitive to fine tune the volume. Lower the battery pack or move it so that the floor in the back is not raised.

Got my new insurance bill today from allstate our 02 Explorer was $266 for 6/mo our 13 C-Max is $221 for 6/mo The biggest difference in the details was in liability, 165 for explorer but only 70 for C-Max.

Salesmen told me when you open the door with the mechanical key and you don't have the fob or the battery is dead in the fob to immediately press the unlock button on the door and the alarm will not go off. Haven't tried though.

Ok what is your car mileage averaging now? I'll assume you and your car are both broke in. :)

Hello to the forum. Just bought a new Red C-Max SEL hybrid. Only 300 miles on it now. Ran the diagnostics at 200 miles and it gave an airbag indicator light that was always on. Took it to my local ford dealer and they found the wiring connector under the seat had pin pulled out. Car really drives nice, had ford explorer previously. Currently getting 41MPG in our driving in town and out in the country. Cheers Homestead
