  1. did you happen to have the hill assist button on the gear selector pushed in?
  2. as i said in another forum, we need Jus to do a video of his dash display land his voice over while driving to show all the users here exactly what he means. not everyone can understand or learn by reading. many need to also see or hear or both to comprehend, understand and learn how to do something. rig it up Jus. we know you can do it. you owe it to the cmax community. especially since you have the best route/roads to show what is possible in the cmax.
  3. if you do please try it for a while off to compare with it on and post results/comments. i wonder if you need to clear out the ev+ locations for it to really make a diff or just turning it off will be good enough.
  4. Adair, with all the good tips and tricks in these forums, how can you insult all the hard work the masters have done to help others and you say you havent used any of them to improve you mileage? :)
  5. I'm sure they are hoping all the time sitting standing still in bumper to bumper traffic in EV mode will offset the stomp on it times.
  6. was wondering why you put them on the hatch instead of on the actual car further up as i saw others do? i thought that's where they work better. are these original ones or after market off brand ones ? i think the magnetic ones stay attached pretty well.
  7. mtb ouch!!! sorry to hear this.i was hoping you'd get the magnetic ones instead. they show in the vids and literature to make sure there is clearance for the hatch so I'm surprised to hear this and that you didn't know to put them back enough. couldn't you just have placed them on without removing the glue strip and try it with hatch up before doing the final install? hope they save you a lot of gas but don't it will compensate for that kind of damage. good intentions bad results. i would suggest getting the magnetic ones for anyone else considering getting them.
  8. CMax and roninsd, did you leave a flyer or card on their windshield to join the forums? you all need to do your part to get more members you know. :)
  9. I'd like to hear from our 2 mpg experts Jus and Recump for their take to decide if it's better to keep it on our off.
  10. well with many users here getting 600-750 miles on one tank of gas in the regular non plugin hybrid hybridC-Max, the Energi better do a lot more than 500 miles ;)
  11. weather is part of the Sirius XM subscription with travel link package, if I'm not mistaken. same thing on my Passat.
  12. Jus, do you prefer the Engage or Empower screen to help you MAX your mpgs/range in your CMax? and why?
  13. very very cool GreebChicago. hope the cab riders like them so much they will want to buy one for themselves.
  14. madman, its good it's not coming on your anniversary so that you can focus on your spouse instead of the car that week :)
  15. But Matt's gear has special magic pixie dust that makes whatever great he has in his CMax weigh nothing at all, so that doesn't really count, right? :)
  16. nothing wrong with two or more great minds. yes some things really rely on demographics and terrain of your drive. all lots of things in common to share with those under 40 mpg.
  17. mtb, did your gas pods arrive yet? keep us posted.
  18. ouch!! not a good thing for Ford right now when they are trying to get folks to ignore/forget the bogus low mpg issues. this will definitely hurt sales for CMax.yes i do hope it helps push them to stay focused on quality is number one. consumers expect so much more for alot less money these days so it's alot harder to please them. they should have a follow on survey questions asking if the issues were resolved or not.we know some issues did take longer to fix and diagnose than others.sadly most consumers won't read blogs/forums like this to know there are a lot of satisfied buyers that love their car.these articles really carry a lot of weight, especially when they come from the big boys like Consumer Reports and JD Power.hope they have time to make some changes for the 2014 model.
  19. jus that would be great to have a faq created by you and recump for the top 10-20 tips to get the highest mpg / longest range out of the C-Max. having it in one document/place will be better for all the new (and potential) and seasoned cmax drivers. thanks
  20. 2 things though Jus. 1) we know the fuel mpg meter is off in the cmax (claims higher than actual) so you need to reduce the number by a bit. 2) do you get better mpg with a full tank when the weight is more or when it's half of below when the weight is less?
  21. insane in the membrane!! you da man Jus. here comes the 800 mi tank. :0
  22. saw a brand new Escape today on the way home. lots of styling similarities with the C-Max. they really should have kept it a hybrid but i guess with the Escape, c-max, and focus all very similar, there wouldn't be enough differentiation to allow customers to buy at the volume needed to make it profitable for them perhaps after they see how cmaxes 1st year of sales goes they may make some changes.
  23. you guys are lucky with all the spottingz. in so cal. the hybrid capital of the world,I would think you'd see them all over to, like we have with Priuses every 10 seconds or so.I'm sure with their popularity they will be competing with the Prii soon but Toyota has a big head start and dominate the space for sure.
  24. with the true root cause stll unknown, it's very likely that a strange combination of software bugs and cell phone situations could very likely be contributing to this. if it was purely hardware it would be more repeatable and easier to diagnose. if it was just software same thing.but it's definitely a special situation / combination that causes it. Ford and most auto companies have very smart engineers on their teams, so if they can't solve a problem I'm sure it drives them crazy, as it makes them look bad to the customers and to their peers.
