the gas stations show up thing is probably a setting in the nav menu to use it or not to show points of interests (POIs). in a lot of portable GPS units you can select which ones you want to see, like food, gas, entertainment, etc.never seen these turn on if low on gas but if the cmax has that feature its pretty cool.

no problem KAL, and with mpg numbers like yours, you Should be showing them off to all
-
what would be cool is to see on here or another thread just for it, to see which user with the LOWEST Fuelly avg can get on the 600 mile club
-
I'd rather see some hd vids of the engine engage screen on the dash while driving around town and on the hwy with some voice over explaining how you are driving and what your right gas pedal foot is doing to teach folks how to drive the cmax to MAX the mpgs.

good luck with finding a c-max to rent. i have struck out myself in this quest. only the airports rental places seem to have any, not the local rental sites.

I think the original Honda Insight hybrid car shows this tapering rear hatch design the best. sure is ugly but i guess it works.

Streaming Bluetooth stuttering SOLVED
salsaguy replied to MacGyver's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Macgyver, glad to hear it's fixed. btw i also use BeyondPod for all my Podcast listening. great program. i highly suggest it. -
While getting dressed this morn 6/18 I happened to see the tail end of a brand new Ford commercial for the CMax Energi. It showed the car driving over a bridge / through a populated city from an overhead view point at the end and the announcer asks "How far can you go on $20?" which is part of their new campaign I assume. I tried to find a link to the commercial video but was unsuccessful. Anyone see this yet and know where I can watch the full version of the commercial?
-
I've read in other forums here of this happening where it wouldn't shut off, but that may have been due to a bad gas pump at the station so not sure if this is real or not.

Correct format to play videos on the screen?
salsaguy replied to xanotos's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
i really doubt this will be possible. trying to use it for unintended purposes as designed. -
Since we are nearing the end of the 2013 model year for the C-Max, I created this forum for all current orders for the 2014 model or future 2014 CMax shoppers. We haven't ordered ours yet and may wait to get the '14 with all the big fixes installed fresh from the factory. Better chance for success than hoping and then crossing fingers with dealer service to fix bugs you all have reported here so often. there appears to be no changes at all compared to the '13 so when they run out of '13s it will be a quick changeover to get the new car. just change some stickers and VIN plates. order guide here: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52718-2014-c-max-hybrid-order-guide-availability-date/?p=853212 Anyone out there waiting it out a little like my wife and I? Anyone planning to upgrade your 13 to a 14? Your thoughts....

snig, i agree a slightly larger cmax getting good mpg and a better battery placement to not kill the cargo trunk area would be ideal.
-
stobro, if the production schedule of the 2014 model is really as projected and discussed here some on the forums, (a very short run) then the redesign of the Max might be coming for the 2015 model year. if thre is interest and i know there is, they might bring the 3 row grand cmax they have in Europe but that wouldn't get as good mpg but would fill a void many seek in a hybrid car to compete with the Hond CRV and Mazda offering and other midsize SUV types.
-
i agree and always wondered how they got 47 across all three scores and the exact same for BOTH cars when we know and it is obvious the cmax is much bulkier and less aerodynamic than the Fusion. this is the only place where im concerned about Ford. i don't think they cheated or falsified numbers but it is very strange indeed on this aspect of the data. I'm surprised we haven't heard any updates from the EPA on this since is was around Oct / Nov of 2012 when the outrage really hit full tilt and the articles said epa was investigating and Ford was assisting them to address why the numbers were accurate and true, which many of you HAVE equalled or easily beaten.

sounds good Scuba.i would have done the exact same things if i was in your shoes.

this IS very concerning as i agree any excessively loud sound can and WILL be perceived as a defect to the customer, esp since most know a hybrid is known to be super quiet. i doubt this is how they planned to have it loud enough to not scare/kill unsuspecting pedestrians. my wife will not buy a car if something like this is a reality.especially coming from a Toyota with perceived very high quality levels, which is partly true if her SUV has lasted 13+ years and still running although in need of some repairs (cat converter and A/C pcb board issue). hope they fix/ correct it. this is the first car i know of with ACTIVE noise canceling tech on-board so i wonder if they planned for this. i doubt any potential customer hearing the cmax on the street would still want to get one if this is how they do their self advertising for the car. (yes this is the quality engineer in me talking :p )

uh could be signal switching in and out and cant lock on...or who knows nothing in the manual? obviously doesn't happen enough to record it for dealer investigation. wasn't there strange beeps, hisses, pops reported here / discovered after the 3.5.1 update was installed?? maybe post question on the Ford or CMax Facebook site.

if you want another way to track your driving habits try the free State Farm app "Driver Feedback" where it checks your acceleration, braking and cornering and let's you save trips/routes so you can try and beat your previous score each time. what's cool is you can have a multiple people setup so you can compare drivers scores (wife/husband) to see who is the master driver in the home..., but do this at your own risk, especially if your better half is very competitive. ;)

Hertz C-MAX Rental Spotted in Miami Beach
salsaguy replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
another cmax in FL. grrr getting tired of them not available for me to rent. a whole month rental??!!! wow the bill for that will be insane as they mark it up on specialty cars like this one. -
Noah if i remember correctly from reading here on the forums, yes they are OFF by default fresh from factory until activated, but actual users should chime in here
-
it's possible if it was the instantaneous mpg screen which you can get super high mpg if coasting, but i guess it wasn't so.maybe a perfect trip for the cmax for all conditions, temp, batty, weight, accessories, downhill, etc....

PapaJ the you don't get the moon roof just because you got an SEL, it's an additional $2-2.5k option. For me it's always best to get the fully loaded package. it's much better at resale or trade in. and if you are buying the car, with a 5 year option that extra 3-4k is really nothing at all each month in the big scheme of things, and id rather have more and be set with all the need and not use it than getting less and regretting it later. you really do get a LOT more on the SEL for not much more money. I've always loved leather, even if it's a little hotter in the summer. one spill on cloth and its over, whereas on leather it is easier to clean.cloth tears and loosens up and shows stains like crazy. leather when taken care of lasts a long time, and one again is more desirable when sold after the first year most electronic bugs will be fixed. Ford did really limit the Trim choices in this car compared to other lines but that is a cost saver to not have a bunch of unsold inventory on lots with 5 trim levels, especially in a niche market like the hybrid is. Its an SEL 303a package for sure for us when we get one.

Rapier there were other articles on different cities but I just choose the 1st two about cmax taxis. I'm sure many cities are gobblibg up as many cmaxes as they can.it's an obvious choice to anyone with smarts. keep your customers happier and the experience pleasant to ensure repeats and good word of mouth.

i wonder if Ford is going to re-do / recall that CMax commercial with the blonde lady and her dog. they show her swiping her foot left to right under the car but everyone says that is wrong and it should be only a single kick under the center of the bumper. I think in the Escape commercial with the husband and wife, they show the kick method. i would assume it's the same sensor/system in both cars so they are confusing everyone and teaching them bad habits if one is correct and the other is not, or is less reliable.

congrats. keep it up. be sure to read the 50+ mpg thread and the 600 miles tank threads.
