It's a KAT's Heaters NAPA #24150 and there is a pic in my galley taken from the front of the car with cover lowered. Need to make sure oil pan is clean with alcohol or acetone and make sure you install it like I did. You need to bend it around oil pan. :) Paul

Sorry to hear about your accident and I hope you are OK. It looks like the HVB should be OK. What kind of fill up MPG's have you been getting lately? 48K, wow, having mine in the shop for 6 weeks allowed you to get ahead of me. LOL But I'm going to SF so I should be at 50K in two weeks. I hope it doesn't take long to fix and you might want to visit often to see how it is going . Good Luck :) Paul

Filled up last night and got 49.6mpg, 618mi and 12.46gal. Oil Pan Heater has made a real difference with the cold temps we been having. :happy feet: Paul

Here is what I saw looking at the 2014 CMAX Energi. I couldn't find any difference in the hood seal. There was no front tire deflector other than the stock one on the 2013 CMAX, did have rear one. I couldn't see any difference on A-Pillar moldings Did have rear lift gate deflectors Maybe they hadn't got around to all the 2014 changes but that would be odd and potential for customer complains. :swear: Paul

Filled up last night and even with cold temps (20's-40's*F) 50% Hwy I got (Smart Gauge)49.6mpg, 618.5mi and 12.46gal. Actual 49.3mpg.,627.8mi. and 12.74gal., I can say I'm averaging 4-5mpg better than last year at this time and it was warmer then. All the Mods have made a serious improvement. :yahoo: Paul

I wonder what the weight difference would be? Rolling weight can be a issue, might be able to save 20lbs. What do you think? :) Paul

I looked at and took pics of 2014 Energi and I don't see how they could make 1mpg improvement from the testing I have done. I would think you would have to make better than 1mpg improvement to change EPA #'s. IMO It just makes a lot more sense to buy a 2013 CMAX and save 4-5K or more and spend $300 adding mods and get 2-4mpg better gas mileage than buy a 2014. :) Paul

I do think we are limited in going much bigger, just not much room there turning and snow considerations. That would mean the odometer would be off by 2.5% or 2.5mi/100mi and 72mph at 70mph indicated. Michelin Energi tires are limited in tire sizes. It might take more than 1% bigger diameter to see a change in MPG's. Having difficulty finding 16" wheels with the 55mm offset at TireRack. :) Paul

(with the voluptuous hindquarter curves which will soon disappear) That one went over my head i think. I thought you were going to be concise and clear. LOL Interior: ScanGauge2 and Garmin GPS Exterior: Grill Covers to improve warmup and earo MPG's GasPods improve aero MPG's Wheel covers improve aero MPG's Oil pan heater improve warmup and short trip MPG's I will try to edit this when I come up new mods :) Paul

I guess you got all the bases covered, I only want to spend $400. I guess you didn't know that CMAX is a fish and those are gills on the front. LOL  So I can't type or spell.LOL :drop: Paul

I'm working on it, but I haven't figured out which camcorder to buy. :) Paul

Grill Covers are an obvious solution and oil pan heater is another, I plug mine in at home and work. :) Paul

TireRack has 215-60-16 in stock and they are .3" taller so I'm guessing your odometer is going to be off by 2% and speedo by 1-2mph. seems doable. Then to find some light weight wheels that you can put wheel covers on. :) Paul

My MPG's have gone up about 2MPG with the addition of NAPA oil pan heater. I plugin at home and at work and I'm averaging 51-52mpg with temps around low 30's. With speeds in the 40-55mph. I currently also have Grill Covers,GasPods and wheel covers on MADMAX. Those with block heaters really got it made by adding Oil Pan Heater, because you can maybe get to the magic 128*F WT and be able to go into EV mode quickly and save more gas. :) Paul

I want to test the whole car stock and then start adding mods to see what happens. I currently have Grill Covers,GasPods and wheel covers on MADMAX. LOL :) Paul

I was thinking about clear thin sheets and brace them at different widths and angles. Need to do tuff testing. :) Paul

Mike, you make me LOL. Isn't it amazing how your MPG's go way up when your battery is full or was that all down hill? LOL We need to do some tuff testing to get a handle on ware to put GasPods. I'm looking for a real good camcorder. :) Paul

I run 49-50psi now and was surprised that I didn't notice any significant difference in ride quality. Someone had a formula for figuring out MPG's improvement vs psi. :) Paul

Just for the record I drive Hybrid, not Energi and I haven't done anything to damage my car, holes etc so at anytime I can go back to stock. The Goal is to go faster and get great MPG's not slower. I have been working at fuel mileage since I put Grill Covers, Front air dam, light weight fan, headers and dual-port intake manifold on 1974 24mpg Pinto wagon into a 30mpg car in 1974. There are bunch of us on this forum that look at our cars and think how can I make it better. :) Paul

You didn't run out of gas when you filled up with 13.937gal.? You had to be on fumes literally! :) Paul

Gee, You will probably be going through Atlanta, So you could drop by and compare CMAX's if you had time too. :) Paul

Using your example you should never replace your air filter because you will never recoup your investment. Unfortunately air filters are a maintenance requirement so you have a choice of what filter you can use. I went with the K&M filter because of the least restriction/better mpg's and it should last the lifetime of the CMAX, save money by not having to buy anymore filters. WIN,WIN situation. It's all about the MPG's for me. :happy feet: CMAX is my hobby with the goal being able to get 75mpg and 1,000mi. on a tank of gas. I'm currently at about 67mpg and 935mi on a tank. With new aero improvements I'm working on I will be able to make my goal. :yahoo: :) Paul

I believe the tire companies have decided to go with a legal answer to put the responsibility back on the car manufactures. I have been run around 49-50psi for about 10k miles and have 6/32" outside , 5.5/32" center and 5/32" inside front and back. I have 43K miles on MADMAX. I increased the size of tire on my 2007 Focus which did increase MPG's, but I had to calculate actual mileage and speed was off by 2mph at 70mph. I'm guessing 1mpg improvement + 2mpg for GasMiser tires. The odometer is already off by 1.5% to the low side on the CMAX. :) Paul
