  1. I think tire wear slows down the less tread you have. Paul
  2. 15k miles later after replacing the fronts with sidewall hole, moving the rears to the front, new one's the rear and 95k miles on my front Michelin's using 50 psi, they still have 4/32" tread on outside, 3/32" tread on center and inside. Anyone else getting that kind of tread wear? Just another example of the advantages of using 50 psi in Michelin ES tires. BTW I had a panic stop yesterday when someone tried turning in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and turned right to avoid hitting them. Anything that was loose came flying to the front of the car. Tires and brakes worked great! :) Paul

  4. And you would have had to suffer for 6 1/2 years with a inferior car, where is the sense in that. At $3500 to put a used trans in sound like a good deal to me. Paul
  5. " a NiMH pack will weigh about 25 percent more (165 pounds, versus 132 pounds) and occupy about 20 percent more volume than a lithium-ion pack with a comparable output and usable capacity. " It would seem they could make it a plugin using Lion in the same space. Paul
  6. I find your statement "Thanks FORD" illogical, in reality you should be thanking FORD for it lasting well past the end of it's Warranty. You haven't been making payments for quite some time. I agree with Plus 3 Golfer that it makes sense to replace the trans than buying a new car. It would have been wise to save the money you weren't making on payments toward maintenance in the future. IMO Paul
  7. Someone wanted to know what GAS PODS look like. With 223k miles on my CMAX my Fuelly.com average went up to 49.3 mpg. :) Paul

    From the album: 2013 C-Max

    GAS PODS
  9. This is puzzling, you must have some vary bad roads, I have 223k miles and don't have any clunking. Paul
  10. NiMh HVB weights more, cheaper and doesn't have the capacity for the same size LI-ION HVB. You can't use the same charging system. Paul
  11. It's not a navigation problem, it's like the program shuts off momentarily and then reboots up and it knows where it is and the route it needs to take. We'll see Tuesday when the tech guy looks at it. Paul
  12. Looking at Fuelly.com 2017 CMAX Hybrid doesn't get better MPG's than earlier Hybrid if you take out the Energi's from the mix. Not sure why the 2018's are doing better other than there is only 9 and no ENG's in there. I haven't had the chance to drive a 2018 CMAX. There are two 2019 RAV4 Hybrids on Fuelly so not a good to put much into it, with 8 fillups with more city 41.5 mpg. http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/rav4/2019?engineconfig_id=&bodytype_id=&submodel_id=77532 Paul
  13. I have gotten all my NAV cards on eBay and I have had the A10 card for 2 months with no problems till now. Maybe the problem is with the GPS. I don't know what it means to "see the touchscreen". Paul
  14. I have a problem with NAV "Navigation fault, please see the touchscreen" I'm not having any other problems with the touch screen. The NAV recycles every couple of minutes which is very annoying, it doesn't forget the destination, it just keeps on rebooting. Taking it in to FORD next Tuesday to have a "Specialist" look at it. :headscratch: Paul
  15. Actually the 2018 CMAX Hybrid gets 42 city/38 HYW/ 40 combined and is $3k cheaper. https://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&bodystyle=Hatchback&model=C-MAX&year=2018 Old 2019 RAV4 Hybrid only gets around 34 MPG and there is no info on 2020 RAV4 yet on fuelly. Paul
  16. I think they were saying that they are working on a small Hybrid SUV off of the Mustang format. :headscratch: Paul
  17. You have to remember that the trans also has two electric motors too and the trans cost around $5-6k from the Dealer. Paul
  18. Just went up another .1 mpg on my life time to 50.3 mpg. :) Paul
  19. I'm sure a lead acid battery is cheaper, and more available. Paul
  20. I had a 2010 Escape Hybrid that I was getting 42City/35HWY without Aero and tire pressures and EPA was 34city/31hwy. I would think it is possible to improve 2020 Escape EPA # by 5 mpg , maybe more. :) Paul
  21. I don't think the trans is an issue now, I got 127k mi. on my second one. :) I got 2 checks also. :) Paul
  22. mpg's would be a problem for me too. I'm averaging 52 mpg yearly and I'm guessing I'd get maybe 45 mpg in Escape Hybrid although Plugin with 30 miles EV could work around town. Paul
  23. I don't see one foot enough of an improvement, maybe a foot and half. 2019 Escape is 38.8 feet. and 2018 CMAX is 39.4 feet. Paul
