  1. Saw this on FOX Headlines News: https://www.foxnews.com/auto/2020-ford-escape-revealed-with-more-room-and-plug-in-hybrid-power Said available Hybrid this Fall and Plugin Spring with 30 miles EV range. Paul
  2. Here are my pics of all the info. Here is the thread on Grill Covers: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/970-cmax-grill-cover-testing-2-5-mpg-gain/ Paul

If you are interested in improving your gas mileage here is alot of info: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/page-1 Good Luck with your CMAX. :) Paul
  4. I was thinking of a situation like weather disaster with the grid going down you have much greater range with ICE than EV. Paul
  5. Good Luck with the Trans change, you should be fine if the FORD Dealer has done this before. I worry about everything being electric with the possibility of one of our enemies setting off an EMP device or Massive Solar Flare destroying everything computer controlled and the Electrical Grid. The only vehicles that would work would be carbureted which would put us back to atleast the 1970's and probably worse. Maybe Steam Engines. :headscratch: I still ride my bikes :), It would seem wise to have as many energy options as possible to cover all the possibilities. This is why I still think a Hybrid/Hybrid Plugin is a better solution than all electric. IMO. Paul
  6. I think using 50 psi helps to cut down the wear on the edges of the tires which is where the noise come from, I have 85k mi. on my OEM fronts and I cross rotate about every 5-10K miles. You could have a bad bearing also and I would have it looked at. If the car hauler chained down the car to much it can damage the bearings. Paul
  7. I agree it isn't financially practicable and I'm not sure that it is much of an improvement environmentally, you have to use Diesel/gas to make the crop and turn it into ethanol. IMO Paul
  8. I think the main problem with Ethanol is that it is made from Corn, a food source and it takes almost as much energy to make it as it makes. Very inefficient and the only reason their doing it is because they are subsidized by the Government. :headscratch: Going the other direction it would be interesting to see how much improvement I would get using Pure 100 Octane Racing Gas, it's not readily available without going to the Race Track and $8/gallon is a deterrent too. It would run $100 to fill up vs $35 for Premium. Paul
  9. They are both close on acceleration. :) HVB + ICE = more torque. Paul
  10. I also agree with fbov there is a reason why they limit the amount of Ethanol to 10%-15% because plastic parts can't tolerate it. It doesn't make sense that you would get better MPG's with Ethanol gas with less BTU's unless you had higher Octane. :headscratch: I get the best MPG's with Pure Gas with high Octane (93). Paul Paul
  11. Got Premium gas last night at Sam's for $2.67 and Reg. was $2.41 so I'm getting pretty close to break even point of cost vs mpg improvement now. Paul
  12. I would also recommend visiting the fordcmaxenergiforum.com to get more info. For most of us Hybrid drivers, we needed the extra space that the Energi's HVB takes up, that's why we went with the Hybrid. Sounds like the Energi is right ticket for you. :) Paul
  13. I would suggest looking at the CMAX Energi forum, they will have the answers. Good Luck and let us know how you do. :) Paul
  14. Great Job! What are you doing to get that great MPG's? Paul
  15. Sounds Great! :happy feet: Are you using any of my tips from my thread: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/ You can keep track of your mileage/MPG's on Fuelly.com Paul
  16. Sounds like you are doing great to me. :) Paul
  17. I believe ICE/Trans come out from bottom of ICE compartment as you can see from this picture. Paul
  18. I'm thinking the only place it could be leaking is at the surface where the trans and ICE bolt together so If you put a bead of the HI-Temp Copper Silicon Rubber around to above the level of the trans fluid it would slow the leak a lot. There is no real pressure inside the trans to force the fluid out. IMO :) Paul
  19. How about trying some HI-Temp silicon rubber to seal it up? :headscratch: Paul
  20. I saw that which seems very strange that they wouldn't keep it up to date. :headscratch: Paul
  21. CMAX Energi site seems to be down. Paul
  22. I had a heater hose fitting start leaking back in Nov. which I tried to fix myself, but turned to be a big job so I ended up getting FORD to fix it for $1,100, ouch! Well with 218k mi. things are bond to break down. I took MADMAX with only 40 miles on the tank and around 50 mpg and I got it back with 16 mpg  and it took 550 miles HWY driving to get it to 44.6 mpg. I learned something that I suspected for sometime that MADMAX gets better MPG's running WT temps between 218*F to 230*F with center and bottom Grill Covers on than 206*F to 220*F with partial bottom Grill Cover on for an improvement of .5-1 MPG. Shows bottom Grill Cover with holes to let more air through. Paul
  23. I still think it is possible to improve ICE efficiency from 30% to 60% to be used in Hybrids which could double MPG/range. :) I also think it would be unwise to go to all EV in the future from a Security stand point. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. One strong solar flare or EMP could put the whole electrical grid out of commission. :headscratch: Paul
