I think there might be some confusion on miles on unit, some are Odometer miles and mine is ICE miles. I personal think ICE miles are what's important, ICE miles % can vary between 30% to 70% as compared with Odometer miles. So it's possible to have 10k on odometer and only 3k on ICE, it would be a waist of money and oil to do a oil change. IMO :) Does anyone know how long Mobil 1 is good for just sitting in oil pan? That could be what determines when to change the oil. Going to Mobil site they're talking about changing oil annually. And again my last oil change was about one year/14k ICE miles and BlackStone Labs said my oil was still good. :) Paul

I also agree with obob and Plus 3 Golfer and I have 150K miles on mine. :) I watch my HVB SOC(state of charge) all the time with a ScanGaugeII and this is what I have seen. 1. Normal operating range is 38-65% SOC 2. You can get lower SOC if you are very careful with the accelerator going down hill to 32% or are in EV+ Mode close to home or work you can hit 32%SOC. Also if you park the CMAX overnight with mid to low 30's%SOC, in the morning I have seen 26.7%SOC, but ICE still starts. :) 3. You can't get higher than 65% under driving conditions, but if you have been driving for an half an hour or more and stop with 55-60% SOC for a few hours, the HVB will cool off and I have seen 80% SOC. You can go for miles when you first startup in the morning if you keep the speed below 35mph. :) 4. The useful capacity does go down over time, still reads the same, but it charges quicker to 65% than it did when new. Paul

I'm working on a YouTube video how to drive a CMAX the way Engineers designed it to be driven to get great MPG's. :) It would be interesting to see if I could help a member to improve their MPG's using my tips. PM me if anyone is interested. I hope to have video ready soon. :) I'm currently averaging between 52-55mpg on the FWY. Paul

Ford to end C-max production at Michigan plant
ptjones replied to djc's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Some confusing talk here: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/autos/ford-cancels-mexican-plant-still-moving-small-car-production-n702761I think Electrified Vehicles will be built in Michigan. :headscratch: I just got a 2017 CMAX Brochure in the mail. :) Paul -
Here's one: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/01/consumer-reports-tests-fuel-saving-tires-michelin-energy/:) Paul

There is something wrong with this picture. I don't think FORD and others using Michelin's instead of Ecopias came up with that conclusion. They would have jumped at saving $100+ per set of tires. Everything I've read said Fuel Savers are the best for MPG's. Paul

Thanks for the update Ken, I got 64.5k and 64k on my two sets of Michelins. I really like the cornering with 50psi, going 30+ mph in roundabouts, its a good way to get tailgaters off your bumper. :) I'm thinking that cross rotating tires every 5k miles might keep noise level down. I'm trying to on my current set. :headscratch: Paul

I went close to 30k Odometer miles, 14K ICE miles on this oil change. :) Of three Lab Reports this was the best one. :) They said my Mobil 1 0W20 was still good. :yahoo: Paul

We are getting off topic here, should be in this thread: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3498-oil-quality-and-change-interval/ Where there is a lot of info. :) Paul
-
I guess the bottom line is there is no rush to get the oil changed, oil minder is 10k miles. :) Paul
-
How many ICE miles are you going on a oil change? I went 14K miles on my last one and got my best oil Lab Report. :) When to The Atlanta Car Show and the FORD People couldn't tell me anything about next year's CMAX situation. :headscratch: They only had CMAX Hybrid, Both New Fusions and no Electric Focus. Paul

That can be one of the biggest gas mileage problems to fix. LOL :lol2:  OH well we do the best we can given the situation. My wife tries to not ruin my MPG's. :) She's not to concerned about her Explorer MPG's, I usually get 2-3 mpg better when I drive. :) Paul

Wonder if they last as long? :headscratch: Paul

Sync 3; Navigation; GPS Time
ptjones replied to Telerisk's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
It only takes me 30 seconds at most to change time. :) It would be nice if it did it automatically, but not worth complaining about. :) Paul -
Are you using the 2BAR acceleration Rule and EV upto 15mph? :) Paul
-
From the TireRack review Michelins get the best MPG's and several high MPG's cars use them. I got 64k+ miles on two sets. :) Paul
-
How much do you think the Grill Covers are helping? :) Paul
-
Here is my graph again showing MPG's vs temp with and without Grill Covers. :) Paul
-
You shouldn't have any problems if you use 2 Bar accelerating method and EV to 15mph. 50psi on the tires if their Michelins. :) Paul

2017 FORD CMAX, KIA NIRO and TOYOTA Prius V MPG TEST Drives

You might want to read this first: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6492-2017-ford-cmax-kia-niro-and-toyota-prius-v-mpg-test-drives/page-1 CMAX comes with 8YR/100K mi. Hybrid Parts warranty and you add that to the rest of the CMAX. After driving 4 NIRO's it competes well with the Prius V, but It doesn't compete well against the CMAX. :) Paul

It's hard to sell a car if you don't advertise it. I'm seeing alot more CMAX's in my area now, I think a lot of CMAX's with low miles are available now coming off leases and trade ins which has put a hurt on new CMAX sales. Noticed FFH sales were real good last month. :) Paul

I want to let everyone know that I've Updated Post#2 with all the current Info for improving MPG's for really all year around, not just winter. :yahoo: Paul
-
I use mine all year around and only take lower one off when I know i'm going to be doing a lot of climbing. :) I use Fuelly numbers and I think 4mpg is an excessive difference, usually 2mpg is the most. Are you running the ICE ahead of time before getting in the car? If so the computer doesn't count that amount. Paul
-
There is getting to be a lot of low mileage CMAX's becoming available at very reasonable prices. :) An Energi would come in handy these days. At this time I don't know where I would put an extra car. Paul
