  1. Here is a Link to Big Truck Turbine/Hybrid: http://www.hybridcars.com/wrightspeed-combines-gas-turbine-and-batteries-for-big-fuel-savings/ 44mpg WOW! Walmart made a AeroSemi. :) Paul
  2. The real problem with EV is the charging time of a half an hour or more is inconvenient when compared to 10min. gas fill up. Going Cross Country would be a pain. ;) Paul
  3. But the EPA Test is around 60mph and they should be able to get 47mpg going that fast. ;) Paul
  4. My experience has been my MPG's go up with higher Octane, maybe 1-2mpg from reg to premium. You can use lower Octane at higher altitudes. :) Paul
  5. I like the extra room and with my aeromods I got 52mpg going up to Acworth and back(I-85,I-285 and I-75) temps 65*F yesterday. If FORD had started out with 47City/42HWY they would have been OK. But releasing the car in Oct. with temps going down killed the MPG's and made FORD look Bad. You would thing that the tech's would have know the car looses MPG's when temps go down. If they had released it in late Spring I don't think there would have been much fuss about it. :) Paul
  6. You don't use actual gallons on Fuelly? I also use actual mileage determined from comparing GPS to Odometer mileage, it's off by 2.2% to the better in my case. I'm sure I get over 40mpg at 80mph with aeromods, 34mpg OUCH! That's depressing. :drop: :) Paul
  7. If diesel was cheaper than Regular like it use to be it would be a no brainier. :) Paul
  8. Diesels are some what of a hard sell with the cost of 50cents a gallon more than regular. TDI's do get good MPG's on the HWY's, but CMAX kills them in around town driving. Even with 82%HWY driving my Fuelly average is 46.1 and going up with the warmer temps. I wouldn't be doing that good with a TDI. :) Paul
  9. Even with 160 fillups my Fuelly aveage is starting to go up, maybe by the time it starts to cool off again I will get up to 47MPG. :) Paul
  10. Someone checked the Part # for 2013 and 2014 transmissions and they were the same, Ford said they were going to change to Energi ratios, but appairently they didn't. ;) Paul
  11. Some of us do better at MPG's than others, I see 45mpg during Summer with AC on driving on the HWY. During Winter low 40's mpg's, BTW Grill Covers are worth 2-4mpg"s. :) Paul
  12. Got First over 700mi tank this year, 717.2mi to be exact with 13.5gal. With weather improving CMAXers you should be able to get 600+ mile tanks. If you really work at it 700+ tanks. :shift: :clapping: Paul
  13. Got First over 700mi tank this year, 717.2mi to be exact with 13.5gal. With weather improving CMAXers you should be able to get 600+ mile tanks now and Post them on this thread. If you really work at it 700+ tanks. :happy feet: :shift: :clapping: Paul
  14. Talked to my FORD SM yesterday and he said they spent a couple of hours Testing my CMAX and Trans Temps were fine. I told him that I had a new high temp of 193*F with only 4*F difference in temp between input cooler line and output line. He said as long as the Trans was working there was nothing he can do. He doesn't have faith in any info coming out people on forums. I'm sure there is a problem, but it's going to take trans. drive ability problems before they are going to do anything about it. ;) Paul
  15. I will continue to monitor SOC to see how low it will go and if I get lucky how high. To me it looks like 30% is the lowest I can get in EV+. :) Paul
  16. I have seen as low as 33% with ScanGaugeII in EV+. I left my ACC mode on once and HVB only goes down so far and quits charging 12V battery. I used a batt. charger for 15min. and left it connected to start the ICE. No big deal. Didn't have a jumper battery ready at the time. ;) It seems I do most of my driving between 38%-45% SOC, but will hit over 50% on significant down hills stretches. Paul
  17. Mike I didn't know you got 81mpg on your second tank, that's amassing! :) Paul
  18. Guys if you can give me all your numbers I can update the original Post#1 to be complete and up to date. I'm hoping there will be some useful info from this Post in the future. It would be useful if everyone was on Fuelly.com to keep track of MPG's over time to see changes with temps. I try to put temp range for each fill up. Also note when you put Grill Covers on and off in the Notes part in Fuelly. :) Paul
  19. I was wondering if you had the ScanGaugeII XGauge Codes for Motor Elect. Coolant Temp.,Generator Inverter temp. and Motor Inverter temp.? I thought the NRG guys had them but they don't work. Thanks :) Paul
  20. If you are going to keep it for 10+ years resale value isn't much of a consideration. I would get the extended Warranty for as many years as possible and mileage too. Have them include the Warranty with the price of the car. I am assuming this is a reputable FORD Dealer. :) Paul
  21. I do like the 2013, because Smart Gauge has more info than later model years plus the Life Time info too. I'm assuming the battery wasn't dead when they started it for you. That would be a good sign. I personally like the SEL better, but It sounds like you aren't interested in the extra features. :) Paul
  22. I guess the only to figure this out is to look at the parts lists for both cars. The last I heard the Hybrid systems are the same. :) Paul
  23. Just went up to 47.1MPG Life Time Score yesterday, YA! Summer is coming! :yahoo: MPG's should be going up for most members. :) Paul
  24. Made a trip yesterday 70mi, each way with OT 70*F and WT up to 225*F. I had a new high TFT of 193*F and cooling lines were only 108 and 113*F with IR Digital Thermometer. Today I drove 16mi./25min. with WT 206-213*F. The TFT was 152*F and Cooler lines were 96*F and 92*F. I think my next step is to contact a Electric FORD Dealer(preferably one that will work with me) to figure out what is causing the High Temp Problem. :) Paul
