  1. I understand your claims but as a CMax owner who has not experienced them with my SEL, I don't agree with your claims. But I'd just like to say that the 47/47/47 mpg claim is not false. It can be done, I do it all the time. You just have to be willing to work at it using the right techniques of braking and acceleration. These cars are not like normal cars they require special driving to deliver the mileage claims by Ford and the EPA. If Ford is guilty of anything it would be of not letting owners know at the time of purchase that special driving techniques would be required to achieve the 47/47 mpg. Bottom line is it is a fact that they will deliver 47mpg each and everyday and even more. I've seen 50 to 60 mpg on my car and no battery issues. Sorry for your problems with your CMax. It is easy for me to say I think you should hang in there and give this remarkable car another chance. Sure I've had some issues with mine but nothing which would make me want to give it up. I've been tracking my gas mileage since April 2013 on www.fuelly.com. These are the facts... 50 Fuel-Ups81.7 Best MPG24,536 Miles Tracked$0.088 Cost/MileIn that time it has cost me $187.73 to run Maxus in less than a year. I used to spent that much in a little more than two tanks of gas with my regular gas burning SUV. I love my CMax and would buy another for my wife if I could afford another car payment. My last tank of gas yesterday (3/8/14) before that was on 2/14/14, almost a month. I can live with that.
  2. Does this work on hybrid models not energi models? If so I'd be interested in trying this.
  3. Good luck to you and I wish you safe, happy Maxing.
  4. so far I've had none of the battery issues others have reported. I attributed that to the fact that Maxus didn't sit on the lot for a long period like so many others have before being purchased. I bought it the same day it came of the transporter truck.
  5. Frank, I can't thank you enough for posting that emergency start info. I guess I should take the time to review the owners handbook to see what other wealth of information I can gain from it?
  6. I got to get one of those Scan Gauges it seems, to better understand what is going on under the hood.
  7. Why not work at improving your driving style to better your MPG? Or is it that you are fed up with dead battery issues? Personally I'd keep the car, I'm not big on using the "Lemon Law" procedure. I just don't understand these buy back cases. Despite the few problems I've experienced with Maxus, there is no better car out there for the money. According to Fuelly.com I've spent $145.99 in fuel costs since joining in April of 2013. I'd have spent that much with buying a couple of tanks of gas on my previous car, a Saturn Vue.
  8. I'm pretty certain the blade key is only meant to get you inside the car since the SEL model does not have a key switch. If your CMax won't start by pushing the button then you are in a world of hurt, you are going to need a new smart key and that will be pricy. But I'd try first replacing the internal battery first. How you get to it, I'm not certain. This should be covered under your warranty if you are the original owner, even then I think it is transferable to new owners.
  9. I found a nice looking used Blue Candy Cmax for sale on the used lot at Frontier Ford for $23000.00 and some change. Can't imagine why anyone would trade it? Must have been someone who was peeved with their inability to get 47/47mpg? Too bad since it is possible each and every day if you are willing to work at it through driving style's. Wish I could afford to give it a new home since the blue candy was my first choice over my platinum white which the dealer had ordered. I'd let my wifee have Maxus and turn the blue candy into the BlueMax
  10. I'm with you Paul, I'm fairly certain they use 3M tape to stick it on the rear hatch. If it were mounted with hardware, I don't think there would be anyway to access from behind to tighten the hardware through holes. At least not without removing panels.
  11. I had two occurrences of the yellow wrench of death this morning as I was trying to start Maxus. Wouldn't start of course and I wasn't sure what the problem was. I know for a fact when I shut down the night before I had a nearly full battery pack and this morning it was nearly empty. But I did allot of work inside with the drivers door hanging open in my garage last night. So it put a huge drain on the battery pack which probably caused this to happen? I noticed the MFT cycling on and off for short periods as if I was starting up and then off. It did this two or three times before I finished my work and closed the drivers door and called it a night.
  12. Interesting thought but I'm not worried about it where it only rains from October to May if we actually get any. As for car washing I could use my air compressor to blow off excess water.
  13. or in shocking green or hot pink when I'm in a weird mood. Nice thing about plasti-dip is if your mood changes you can rip off the rubberized paint. Clean it and ready for another color of dip. Love this stuff.
  14. Yes but will not work on the hybrid cmax it was designed for the Euro CMax
  15. there is no radiator cap that I can see or a drain petcock that I have found. The days of doing my own spring and fall fast flush appear to be over with this car.
  16. Geez this is becoming an expensive mod to Maxus. I might not paint it to match my car, I can shoot it with Plasti-dip and change the color to suit my moods for allot less. If I buy their professional power sprayer it looks pretty good after spplying the gloss finish coat and pearlizer so it looks more like the factory color.
  17. I hope this will be available to Ford? Maybe it will put an end to the to issues I've been having with my iphone and Sync. As popular as iphone and Apple products are worldwide, seems like this should been installed from the beginning in most new cars or at least an option.
  18. HannahWCU I'm with you on the endorsement for 3M VHB, darn good stuff. I've gone through several rolls of it since I started using it to remount my black GasPods to different locations while trying to find the best position for max mpg. Stuff really sticks and can be removed fairly well when heated with a hair dryer to soften it's grip on your paint. I use a putty knife to slowly slide under my GasPod to separate the 3M VHB from the paint. Once the stuff sits for while it really cures and isn't coming off without some effort. But it can be removed with care on painted surfaces.

    Wiper blades

Gotta be kidding me, change the blades this soon? Mine work great, only a year and 6 months old
  20. Seeing this takes me back to the 60's..."Rain drops keep falling on my head..." :lol2:
  21. From what I found out at my local Ford Dealer, they have nothing on their computer for 2014 models that even shows the air deflectors. The deflectors aren't shown as being part of the rear glass assembly. The parts guy showed me on their computer screen of the rear glass assembly, the illustration showing the exploded assembly view of all the components in the rear glass and the deflectors are not shown. It might have been that their database was still showing the illustrations and parts bill of material from the 2013 CMax? As far as I could see the '14 interiors are exactly the same as '13
  22. Yes Wab paypal works for me, I will be posting once I get one from them. I'm assuming they mount it with high strength 3M gel adhesive? I'm not drilling any holes in my tailgate.
  23. Not sure of any functionality ScubaDadMiami, I want it for curb appeal and hopefully it will also help with the dirt problem? I feel Ford missed the boat with not putting something like this from the beginning it just looks cooler to me. But what do I know I'm just an aerodynamics sort of guy.
