iPhone 5 music and sync

Both my wife and I have both our iPhones plugged into the USB port near the shifter all the time. Been doing this ever since I bought the CMax back in September of 2012. Also my music plays just fine through the speakers when plugged to USB. -
Actually here in the north portion of California, my local dealer where I bought mine, has had at least 3 or 4 just sitting on the lot for weeks now. I think people have cooled a bit waniting to see where this class action lawsuit against Ford filed by some disgrundled owners goes? Personally I didn't buy the car because it got 47/47mpg. I bought it mostly because it was made in America and easily could get on a regular basis 40+ mpg

I have had this happen several times, thought maybe it wasn't running. I usually just recyle the start-up process and it finally will back up. -
I sold my 2005 Saturn Redline for my CMax, was a great car but I drive allot of miles each day to work, so a hybrid was the logical next step.

Just wanted to share a wheel modification I did to my factory wheels. I painted them with gloss black Plasti-Dip spray paint and MGP Red Powder coated Caliper Covers. These two modifications I greatly enhances the curb appeal of my Platinum White SEL. Gives it a stealthy look with the black trim along the bottom of the bumpers and doors. The thing that is really neat about using Plasti-Dip is you do not have to sand or rough up the finish of your wheels like when using virtually any other brand paint. Only have to clean the wheels very well and remove all brake dust, road grime, grease. Also dry off the wheels with a micro fiber cloth to not leave any fibers. I then blew compressed air on the wheels using my Craftsman compressor for added measure. Once you are ready to paint you don't have to mask off the tire surface where the wheel meets the rubber, just make sure you have a good coating of tire gloss on the rubber and the Plasti-Dip will pull right off when you are finished painting. Works like a charm. Once you are done with all 4 tires if you don't like the way it looks. Simply with your finger dig into the rubberized paint and start pulling it off. If you put on at least 4 coats it will pull off in one continuous piece. Because did you not sand your wheels finish you are right back where you were before you painted. This is the best part of Plasti-Dip you can change your wheel color to suit your mood. I bought a gloss black wheel kit from www.dipyourcar.com, price was about $50 and you get 4 cans of black Plasti-Dip plus 3 cans of Glossifier to leave a glossy finsh as your last step. If you prefer a nice satin black finish then don't buy the gloss kit, just get the black Plasti-Dip and it will leave a nice satin appearance. I replaced my factory lug nuts with longer racing style nuts which are coated with red anodize. These look much better than the cheap acorn-style nuts Ford supplied. There are listed at numerous places on the internet with a 12x1.5mm thread and 60degree taper which seats perfectly to the factory wheels. Lastly I bouight a set of red MGP Caliper Covers (www.calipercovers.com). Just select a 2012 Ford Focus cover and the color you want, also if you want the Ford logo engraved into the front of the cover. Or you can opt to have a custom design if you want at extra cost. These are a really nice dress-up item over the ugly factory caliper and if you paint your wheels it makes the caliper stand out like Porsche or Corvette have. The covers are retained to the caliper using stainless steel clips and hardware provided from MGP. Once you remove each wheel the cover just lays flush against the front of the caliper and slip on the mounting clips from either end and tighen the star washer and hex nut using a 5/16" box wrench. Put the wheel back on and rotate to cherck for clearance. Now here is where I ran into trouble, no matter how I adjusted the cover on the front tires they would not clear the back edge of the factory wheel. I notified MGP and told them there was a clearance issue. They did some checking in the field for fitment at a Ford Deaslership somewhere in SoCal and found that the back inside edge of the C-Max wheel is closer to the caliper than on the Focus. So they had to retool the front cover design on their milling process which compensates for this clearance issue. They are sending me new covers via UPS today. So if you order be sure to tell them you are putting them on a C-Max and you will get the right product and avoid my headache. The rear covers clear fine. There seems to be no problem with using these with the regenative braking system and no over heating issues. If anything they keep the calipers cooler according to the manufacturer. Break dust seems to be kept to a minimum, much better with thsee covers. I noticed very little build up on my black paint. So there you have my wheel mods, a rather long thread I know but I think you will like the look all these items bring to your baby. I will be bringing my C-Max to the Gathering Event this summer from California. Feel free to check it out in person if you are there. I can't attach the pics I took because they are too big for this forum and I don't know how to reduce them sorry. Enjoy your ride...

Well if your C-Max is old with an October build date, I've got you beat, mine was built in September of 2012, plus I've already racked up 7700 miles. But loved every mile of it.

Some of us are very happy with our navigation. Ours works like a charm. Just love it and I never bothered the navigation in our Lexus SUV. This one is very easy and intuitive for me. I just get so tired of that female voice telling to connect to www.myfordsync or call 1-800... everytime it doesn't understand what I'm trying program and there is no way to stop her until she finishes her message. Very annoying because it happens so often. -

Not really a suggestion for improvement, merely a thanks to Ford? Whom ever is hosting/monitoring this forum. When I bought my CMax I was hoping to find just such a site to connect with other owners, make comments and observations. Lastly hoping to make some new friends at events such as the one being planned in Michigan this summer. Bravo to the planners of this event. Thanks again. -

Amazing mileage, I myself have not seen this much mpg for one tank. My best reading is 43.5 average with 500 miles about 80% city and the rest freeway in sillycorn valley, Bay Area.

Really! I have so much trouble using my voice command portion of the NAV unit. Plus everytime it doesn't understand what I'm asking it goes into this long description of how to get help and and 1-800 phone number. Once it starts doing this speal it can't be canceled, I have to listen to the whole mess everytime. So I use it very little except for when I'm driving to a destination that I'm not familar with. It is a pain in the arshe.

Was wondering if any of you programers, computer geeks know if there is a way to use a screen saver background with motion rather than just a still of your favorite image. I'd like to incorporate a screen saver background from my MacPro called Flurry which moves across my monitor when the system is asleep. Assuming I can locate and extract this screensaver from my MacPro onto my thumbdrive it would look cool to have on the MFT screen.

So your saying if you have sufficent Li-Ion power to start the car then once it is running then even if the 12v is dead the engine will start when needed? I don't see how if the 12v is dead or too low power. THen I guess if the engine doesn't start and your run out of Li-Ion power the car will stop moving? Sorry I'm just not savy with this electric stuff.

Has anyone tried to add your own picture to the LCD screen. I changed my screen to a picture I ripped from google images. There seems to be a maximum picture pixel size since I haven't been able to use an HD picture. The picture I'm using right now doesn't fill the whole screen. Anyone know what the maximum picture size is that can be loaded? THanks

Hi, I wanted to throw out a question regarding jumping my CMAX with jumpers cables. First off I haven't needed to do this as my battery seems to work faithfully with 6500 miles on the car and I would hope for much more than that. I was wondering when you connect jumper cables to the charging terminals which are located under the hood. Is it going to start the gas engine and I would assume so since that would be the only way to get the car moving. I assume the engine would remain running until there was sufficent power in the Li-Ion batteries to run without the gas engine? Just wondered since this gas/battery technology is all new to me.

I have a question, where is the 12volt battery located on a hybrid model cmax? I have yet to find it on mine. Also there is a hard black plastic looking box in the back of the car underneath near the muffler. I keep wondering what it is? It is about the size of a 12volt battery. I wondered if it is in the back and not under the hood?

Fortunately for me the part I walked into was not sharp. It was round and smooth, but the blunt force impact just made a gash requiring stiches.
