..or to spend the money on gas pods, aero whata-call-it, scoops, grill covers, under tray, carbon fibertail.... when its probably less controversial trading in the CMax for a Prii to get the MPG :runaway: Now lets hope Nick never see this post :secret:
-
Yep - that one was a TOUGH one to apply for the dealers. As Brother Mike will atest, his dealer screwed it up by using wifi but apparently, that particular upgraded needed a LAN cable. So we had a lot of reports of worse performance in the CMax - not knowing that update partially took. Enjoy the CMax and the MPGs  ps Welcome to the forum as well :)
-
As I said, this car is more computer than a traditional car. It needs updates like your PC and you hope the dealer doesn't screw up the patch/update like so many have done with the 13b07 massive upgrade in 2013.

I only have the centre grill covers for now and its been fine even with fast steep climbs. I really don't see any HUGE difference with the lower grill cover on in the mornings. Infact, I have been chalking up mega and PBs last 2 months with the 1 grill cover config. This car is INSANE MPG giver.

Please feel free to PM Crystal about your issue (see her post above). Never know what a little attention can remedy. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Crystal! If I know Engineers, they are like IT folks - extremely inquisitive about issues especially when its random...hope they may raise a ear or 2 over in Fordland. Plus theres nothing better than solving a painful issue for the company...if u get my drift Crystal(Ford) ;) Hope this helps C-max traveller, keep us informed and best wishes & luck at a solution.

:judge: Ok BullDurham and DrD, everyone back to the corners and take a gulp of ice cold water to cool off...
-
Crystal - if you can take a look at this and escalate it to the attention of your Ford Engineers, it would be appreciated: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2996-recurrence-of-battery-failure/page-8?do=findComment&comment=46618

C-Max Gets "Acceptable" Rating In Crash Test
Jus-A-CMax replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Sometimes you can do NOTHING to avoid an accident, as much as we want to say we can, and try to be alert..but if its YOUR TIME, you're toast. In that moment, Thank GOD you are in a CMax. As much as I complain about Jaguars, that car has saved my wife's life twice, an 04 and 07. ps this forum has had its fair share of nasty bings and BANGS but I think those who got hit, every owner is still posting... :victory: ...now back to your IIHS channel ;) -
Likes all around - good job Russell Fried

@Bro Mike - whats the news bro?
-
P3G and CMax and all - c'mon, cool it guys. Both positive and negative posts are welcome here - neither shall have more weighting than the other. Be courteous and cut out any personal attacks. I am watching.

@Adrian_L - for me, I notice the difference the difference in gas - just like when my tires were down to 47.5 I thought the car was going a wee sluggish in the roll department so I pumped them to the 50-51PSI cold, and yeah, I can tell. Next refuel, load it up with 92. I can say I use the premium and another GREAT hypermiler here Matt aka Recumpence aka Mr.700 (first person to ever break this CMax sound barrier) also uses premium as well (not that I am speaking for him. Also, in one of the brochures from Ford in regards to hybrid driving - while they did not fully endorse premium since the Cmax is a regular, they did acknowledge better power from premium. I mean, try it yourself and make up your own mind....cause, as soon as this is posted, you betcha someone will come SCREAMING that I am all wrong. That's ok, none of them drive the miles and MPGs like I do but what do I know...

2014 tire Aero Dams available from FORD
Jus-A-CMax replied to ptjones's topic in Accessories & Modifications
1 mpg? Thats nuthin. At least the gas pods returned more than that...and they used less plastics. -
Dry? In SF - I dunno. MInd u, its never as bad as SDM heat
-
Lovely - more MPG posts like this will destroy the last credibility of....<fill in the blank>. Don't worry, all of you and me included, will NEVER get a job there anyway. We are jus bad and we don't stick with the program.... Now go and enjoy the check. By the way - let's play a game - what did you do with the money? I'll start. Water heater went, cost us $800 including taxes for a mighty fine replacement. Wifey was happy the $475 went into 1/2 the cost here :victory:

2014 tire Aero Dams available from FORD
Jus-A-CMax replied to ptjones's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Paul - any definitive improvements here with the oem air dams that you can quantify? -
Exactly Paul - so loving this car. This one is absurdly high, usually I am in the low 80s to mid 80s and the big difference is the timing of the light so you don't burn gas (of course I have scouted out and found the most efficient route beforehand). However, as mod, I check out the many other threads and its still sad to see issues with some of our member cars. I am glad mine (as banged up and patched up as she is) - IS ROLLING smoothly. Sorry to threadjack Brother Mike - use the A/C Bro - its not worth it to be uncomfortable. It was 104 when I was driving back from work on Friday but I stopped off at the range to whack some balls and allow the evening to cool down before I head home.
-
Same MPG on the 1.2 used? Bro Mike....feast your eyes on this, got my personal best with my daily morning commute to work: Valley driving. Finished the day on 64.9 MPG pulling into the garage - not the strongest finish because of the heavier Friday traffic on the way to the gym but hell, I'll take anything above 60MPG on my daily commute. This car is the DA BOMB!
-
C'mon who going to argue over the 1 to 3 MPGs...crap, I would  never mind....
-
I dunno darrelld - I really DO NOT WISH rear ending or the inevitable whiplash on anyone, my back is not the same since and I golf too. Ugh. I am very glad to hear you wife is OK. Mine was a BMW with the driver arrested under DUI influence at the scene and failing to render assistence as well. Morons indeed. By the way, it was not enough to wipe out Maxine (shes blessed) and now shes as good as new - infact, getting much, much better MPGs. Weird huh and no issues with creaks, steering nothing - the body shop (Ford Auto Body in Van Nuys) did a GREAT JOB and they were recommended by my Service Manager at Galpin. $14K worth of damage.

There you go - being a member of a forum has its rewards ;) Thanks Crystal, please say "hi" to Ashley for us all :)

took delivery of our 2014 C-max in Ice Storm!
Jus-A-CMax replied to fordfan82's topic in Lounge: C-MAX Hybrid
:congrats: Congratulations! 67 posts huh - looks like you did a whole bunch of research and participation here as well - good stuff ;) ps I could easily drive a Storm color, I like it as much as my Platinum, and without the heft $400 for the extra paint Ford charged me (but whos complaining with all these checks from Ford).
